We did come for consultation and after a few months we can get his teeth straighten out (one is taken out and the other 8 is crowned for his own good). We're so worried to see to see him going through the whole process because he had to take the med for the procedure and he wasn't himself til it wears out (a good 3-4 hours later). He had early appointment and left around noon. He's back to normal around 5pm and we're pleased with the results. The doctor even called around 8pm to check on him and thanks for trusting him to have my boy in his hands. Then staffs are very helpful. You can't find any place like this. Highly recommended! The administrative side of the practice has been very difficult to deal with over the last few months -- calls aren't returned, there's confusion over bills and appointments, and the employees at the desk often seem confused and overwhelmed. They've had some turnover in their dental staff, from hygienists to dentists, and lost some really great employees. The newer employees lack the compassion and warmth of the prior staff members. They've also become very aggressive about asking for reviews and pushing patients to provide positive reviews, which really felt unethical to me.

I live about 10 minutes away from the office, so I left with time to spare. I did not realize that I would encounter a detour that resulted in me being 20 minutes late for my appointment. I called ahead to alert the office and received a warm greeting; "That is fine, I will let the doctor know." I went to the appointment and I no more than sat in my chair when I was called back. As I walked to the treatment room, several employees said hello and called me by name. (Grant it I'm not a frequent flyer at the office, I normally show up every six months.) I sat in the chair and within a minute Dr. McCarthy came in with a smile to say hello and asked how my husband was doing. (My husband is also a patient.) Dr. McCarthy went straight to the procedure and within 15 minutes, I was finished. He explained what he had done and what to expect, but he also went on to say that we have patched the tooth before and we may want to consider a more long term solution. He offered to go ahead with impressions so if I decided to move forward with the long term solution, I would not have to come back to the office. As I was leaving, his wife (who is also a dentist at the practice) yelled goodbye down the hallway and called me by name. From start to finish, I felt that I was part of a family. They made me feel welcome, no matter if I was late for the appointment. Everyone from start to finish made me feel that I was the most important part of their day. Every office should strive for this type of customer service. I have nothing but great things to say this office and highly recommend them.

She went through a year of hell because she picked the wrong dentist to fix her smile. She picked one in the area that promoted and promised a gorgeous smile. She assured Mary Ellen wonderful results. She butchered Mary Ellen, left her with a partial while healing that didn't fit. She wanted to rush through the process, and Mary Ellen could see that something was wrong. She was without a face for a year. Having to wear a mask, have trouble eating, and have to live with the mistakes a general dentist made until she healed as she searched for someone she could trust. By the grace of God, she came across Dr. Sirakian. His website was very informative. Explained everything thoroughly. We were met by his assistant Robin, who was so kind and professional. Mary Ellen sat with Dr. Sirakian, and could feel that she was in the right hands. He could see the significant damage the other dentist did. He said no one leaves my office without a smile. He actually fixed the partial so that she could walk out feeling herself until Dr Sirakian could fix her smile permanently. Dr Sirakian is an artist, he has several years of education above and beyond a general dentist. I accompanied Mary Ellen to her appointments and to her actual surgery. I was called today and informed that my dental insurance is not in their network and I would be required to pay out of pocket for my teeth cleaning although I have dental insurance for teeth cleaning for me and my family. Needless to say the appointment was cancelled because if this is how Dr. Howell and Dr. Thomas run their front office, there is no way I am going to let them provide any dental services to me or my family. While we are at it, Andover traffic is getting real bad in the afternoons and there is at least one lane closed on Butler road everyday. Today there are two lanes closed, one in each direction and traffic is worse than normal. Have you noticed how bad the parking lot is at the dentist office. You had better have a smart car or something smaller to park at Andover Family Dental.
