Update: As of the time of this review, North Bark Pet Salon *is* accepting new clients. I have been a customer of North Bark Pet Salon since 2022. For two years, I used this pet groomer for my English bulldog Olive every several weeks. The employees always warmly greeted us and never kept us waiting. Each appointment lasted about one hour, and the employees did a bath, blowdrying, nail-clipping, and ear cleaning. The employees gently handled my shy and nervous dog, and Olive walked into and out of the store happily. After each appointment, Olive's fur felt soft and smelled good. Recently, I began to take my French Bulldog Daisy here for grooming. So far, she has had one appointment. The employees did a Small-breed Bath for $42 plus tax, credit-card fee, and tip. I am actually not sure of what exact services were included, so I will find out during our next appointment. Daisy, however, did look and smell great, and she seemed to enjoy the attention. read more

Owning dogs for 10+ years and living in other cities like Philly and NYC, I've been to my fair share of groomers. But WOW does Mike and his entire staff do amazing job. Before North Bark, we took our dog to a previous place about 3-4 times and the lady there took anywhere from 2-5 hours. It was expensive but she did a decent job. However, every time we went there she was rather rude and even scolded us as dog parents about how we weren't brushing our dog enough. (We try our best to brush him but he absolutely hates being brushed and groomed in any way.) Given how expensive they were, we didn't want to pay to have someone take our dog for such a long time and also make us feel guilty about him after the service so we had to look elsewhere and am so grateful for my husband that he found North Bark. Carly has now been our dog's official groomer for a few months and she's wonderful. I'm always shocked when she says he was fine and a good boy because at home he won't let anyone near him with a brush and he'll go crazy. (Taking him to the groomers in the car is stressful because he'll whine very loudly the whole way there.) I love that she is completely honest about what she can or can't do with him on a particular day when he's especially squirmy. Regardless, our dog always looks amazing every single time! And she doesn't scold us! The whole staff is wonderful and full of smiles and very polite. Service is a bit pricey but worth it (Nail trim and haircut). We've been bringing our dog Ziggy to North Bark for about nine years, and I can't say enough good things about this place. Ziggy is... let's just say a bit anxious, but Carly has been nothing short of incredible with him. She knows exactly how to handle his quirks, keeps him calm, and somehow manages to send him home looking better than I do after a salon appointment. Carly is consistently kind, patient, and genuinely caring -- not just with Ziggy, but with us as well. It's rare to find someone who understands your dog the way you do, and she absolutely does. Top notch service for a decent price. We called out usual place to get our dog groomed and they couldn't fit us in- I asked for recommendations and multiple people suggested North Park Pet Salon. I was nervous that it would be super expensive- because it truly has a salon feel, but it was actually Less expensive then when we went to Petsmart. They also fit our dog in the same week. They were super accommodating with her and she came home with a beautiful haircut without being super anxious. We found our dog's new groomer. read more

This salon was the worst grooming experience we've had with our dog. They groomer acted afraid of the dog and called not too long after to say our dog 'was not welcome anymore.' I have never dealt with a more rude grooming establishment as they could have provided better customer communication on that. My dog is happily with another groomer and this is the only grooming place our dog has had problems at, do not recommend. read more

From the pun in its name, its relative location to North Park, and to its stellar service, North Bark Pet Salon is proving that it is a force when it comes to pet grooming in the North Hills. We knew our dog needed a bath, but then the pandemic hit. We waited patiently, and then we were able to get him in to North Bark, and we are so grateful and happy about it. He looks and smells great, and he walked out looking like the proud mutt he is. Andie did an absolutely stellar job with our Bumpus. She took care of him like he was her own, and kept us informed throughout the process. (It was his first time there.) When he was afraid of the dryer, they took the time to diligently towel dry him so he'd be ready to come home. He even got to take home a frisbee! read more

Love this place! When you visit here you will see how much they care about you and your pets. I have 2 Lhasas who can be a handful at times, but Hillary, who is our groomer, has such patience with them and does a remarkable job. I cant say enough good things about this place. I've taken my yorkie to the same place since she was a puppy and the last time she came back petrified and choppy so I was worried about taking her to a groomer again let alone one she's never been to. She was scheduled with Mike and he was so kind and patient after seeing how nervous my dog was. She looked absolutely amazing by the end of her appointment and didnt seem to be as scared as in the past. She even came back with cute little bows in her ears. After Three Dogs and a Cat closed, I was looking for a new groomer for my havanese. I quick search in a local neighborhood social media site (Nextdoor), landed me at this place, and I'm so happy it did. I found my new groomer! I'm so bad with names, so I forget what the gentleman's name is who runs (?) the place. Nonetheless, he was the one with whom I made an appointment and the one who groomed my pup and he was SUPER nice. They have late hours, which is great for us since Saturdays are often too crazy. We made an appointment for 5:45 (ish...which was nice to have a flexible time since my commute home from the south hills is sometimes unpredictable). She looked great afterwards and honestly smelled better than she's ever smelled after a grooming appointment. My three year old even commented that she was "as beautiful as she could be". After three dogs and a cat closed i was desperate to find a place that could groom my cat! Let me tell you this place is as good as it gets! They know how to make you feel great about leaving your pets with them and when you come back your pet looks spot on!
