North Bay Monument came highly recommended by my contractor, friends, my neighbor and was also backed up when I purchased my slabs at a local stone yard who discretely told me they do the best stone work in the area. The quality of the work is absolutely second to none. I had them do a very intricate shower and bathroom out of porcelain as well as kitchen counters and bathrooms using marble and quartzite. The owner did all of the measuring and was on site for the installation which was very comforting. I was told they are always very busy so there may be a longer timeline than other shops, but seeing their work in person makes me realize why they are so busy and it was worth waiting the extra week. Doing porcelain and stone slab work is such an important part of the building process, I was very nervous about trusting someone to see it all of the way through. In the end it was the best experience of my entire house build. The installation crew was extremely friendly, professional and efficient. I highly recommend them and can now understand why I was told by so many people that they are the best company to tackle the really difficult projects that require more skill and expertise than other places have. read more

We bought a house five years ago and I just hated the bathrooms. We had changed out the nasty toilets right away, but I hated the vanities with the old tile, chipped faucets and stained sinks. I decided a more economical way, was to instead of ripping out the entire vanity just redo the top,sink, and faucet. I found gorgeous granite remnants for next to nothing in NorthBay Mounuments stone shop, and they expertly fabricated and installed. I was so impressed with the first job north bay did, that I just has them do second. Once again I am delighted wth the work. The seams are as smooth as a baby's bottom. I highly recommend them! Excellent work, from precise measurements to perfect installation. North Bay cut and then installed granite countertops and backsplashes so thoughtfully and well that "grain" lines in the stone matched up perfectly and the seams between slabs is nearly invisible. Kyle did a great job establishing exact sizes and layout; the installation crew was fast, efficient and very pleasant to interact with. Terrible experience. I needed a monument for my husband's grave. Every interaction I had with Carole, the co-owner/secretary, made it seem like she didn't want my business. To questions regarding what was available, she was like, "maybe you could get that from some other company." I made a few attempts to get information from her but only got a vague idea of the general size, color and price. So, I found a blank headstone online that matched what I was looking for. I asked if I could have it shipped to them (and pay of course) to have them sandblast the name and images into the headstone. At first, Carole rudely asked, "What's the purpose of that?" I explained so I knew what I was getting and it was much cheaper. Then she said no, they would not be willing to do that. When I asked why, she said, "I've already expended a lot of effort on this so, no, we wouldn't be willing to do that for you." Wow, just wow. She talked to me like 5 minutes twice in the office (without a mask during COVID!) and returned maybe three emails! This for my husband's headstone! That I want assurance that it will be done right! I'm not shopping for an outfit that I can easily return! I guess one can turn down business when there are not a lot of options in this area! Just FYI, there are very nice people down at Bras and Mattos in Hayward (https://mattosmonuments.com/) who actually take time to discuss what it is you want and need for this very difficult and sensitive situation, and who don't treat you like you are bothering them! read more

We did a large kitchen remodel at our house in Marin and after checking out several fabricators, we chose North Bay Monument in Rohnert Park. It turned out to be one of the best experiences of the entire remodel. The folks there were easy to work with, reliable, very friendly, provided terrific customer service (from initial estimates, templating, all the way through final installation) and did an excellent job. Their prices were very competitive and they always showed up on time. We have since recommended them to several neighbors and friends. We just had our new kitchen counter installed and could not be happier! The crew is super nice, polite and clean. They are very meticulous about every aspect of the job. These guys really know there jobs. They are attentive to even the smallest pArt of the job to give you and outstanding finished product. Unfortunately if you have a loved one pass in Sonoma county this is the only place where you can get your shutter for a nitch etched. The woman who works the front is awful! Rude as can be! She needs to learn some compassion when dealing with family who have just lost a loved one. First off walking in there I was told by The cemetery that they would deliver the shutter, which they had,but she wanted to argue that its was not the one they " usually" get from this cemetery and again her tone was extremely rude and condescending. We were just doing as we were told from the cemetery and I knew what the stone looked like because the week before they had took off that very stone so we could place my mother in the nitch! Then when I was asking questions and giving her my vision for the shutter she quickly and rudely made me feel like I was an idiot for not knowing what they could and couldn't place on the shutter. After every question asked her eyes rolled to the back of her head with a big sigh coming from her mouth! I understand she knows her job..... but others do not and it's not her place, in that type of business to make people feel that way. Compassion understanding and to be helpful with what can be done should be the job quality. She had none of those skills! Frankly she made me sick to my stomach! But since this is the only place to have this done in the county we had to go with them. The stone is so extremely simple, she wouldn't even allow full dates only the years. It just makes me so extremely sad. It was so very hard to lose my mother suddenly but then to have to deal with this woman made the matter so much more heart wrenching! The sad thing is there is no where else to recommend so they will continue to receive business and the wench in the front office will continue to be rude to people who are already faced with a hardship! I would have given one star but the gentlemen in the back actually do the labor did what they were suppose to do so I can't falter them. Just the experience in the office that was horrific! read more
