We were in town for the North Beach Festival on a busy Saturday afternoon, so the area was absolutely packed. As expected, the restaurant was very busy, but the staff did a great job managing the crowd. The dining room is on the smaller side, which gives it a cozy neighborhood feel, and there were a few TVs around showing sports, which was a nice touch. They quickly cleared a table for us, got us seated, and were very attentive from the start. Not long after we sat down, someone came by with menus and took our drink order. Considering how busy they were, I was impressed with how fast the service moved. I couldn't decide whether I could finish even a small pizza, so I went with the chicken Parmesan sandwich instead. It was good, but I thought it could have used a little more marinara sauce. I asked for some extra sauce, but it never made it to the table. Since the staff was clearly hustling and the restaurant was packed, I didn't make an issue of it. The funny part is that after ordering, I saw several pizzas delivered to nearby tables and immediately had a bit of food envy... they looked fantastic. Next time, I'll definitely be ordering a pizza. Overall, the staff did a wonderful job handling a very busy festival crowd, and we had a great experience. I'd happily come back again, and next time I'll be trying one of those pizzas.

This restaurant has been a go to for over 30 years in my family. Not this exact location but remarkably the pizza is still excellent quality! The crust is traditional and flavorful and exactly like I remember. Still great service and friendly faces. Lots of menu choices and still great service! There's even a location in Berkeley but it may not still be there. If you are in SF this is a worthwhile stop!

I have not eaten here in years...last time it was actually in a building across the street it's been so long. But I remembered liking it and when I saw they use Too Good To Go I decided to order. I purchased 2 orders and here is what I got (see photos.) Pizza is good; love the crust. Super happy about the wings which came with vinegary hot sauce...bar food at its finest. Pick up was easy. I might do this again if I'm in the neighborhood. They gave me a coupon for $6 off of a pizza which I appreciate.

Soggiest, droopiest pizza you'll ever see

Spent 50 dollars for 5 slices of pizza and drinks. Easily some of the worst pizza I've ever had. Felt microwaved and it was essentially inedible. Crust 1.5/10, sauce 0.5/10, toppings 3.2/10, price 9.2/10.

I'm sincerely apologize for the terrible picture I took of the Dolores pizza but that just goes to show how much I loved it. The hot honey drizzled on it was delicious. I'll be running here again to get the same pizza. I'm so glad I was bold in choosing this flavor as opposed to my safe choice of pesto. Can't vouch for the ambiance, I ordered the pizza to go. The dough was very nice, it was surprisingly soft yet crispy on the edges. I do wish they gave us more pepper flakes but I guess I could have just asked them for more.

I went here for lunch seated right away, I got the spicy shrimp Diablo add bread and a side of steamed vegetables both are fresh and tasty. my server Edwards is very attentive. Will be back soon.

From Brazil to North Beach! I have lived in North Beach, San Francisco, for over twenty-five years. During my early years here, I discovered North Beach Pizza and became a loyal customer at its original location. Their pizza was one of the closest ones to New York pizza, and I loved and enjoyed it during my years there. So it came as a surprise to me when I realized I had never reviewed them on Yelp! Before starting to write this review, I researched their history online. What I learned surprised me because I assumed the owners were Italian or Italian Americans all these years, and I was wrong! Al Souza, a Brazilian immigrant, launched his restaurant career in 1976 with a San Francisco pizza shop called California Pizza. Though he held a computer science degree from the University of San Francisco, his entrepreneurial spirit led him to the restaurant industry. After honing his management skills at Church's Fried Chicken and Wendy's, he set his sights on a new venture. In 1982, Souza opened the first North Beach Pizza on Grant Avenue, San Francisco. This innovative concept offered a value-oriented menu with fast and reliable computerized delivery, a system he developed. The success was immediate, attracting hundreds of businesses throughout the city. Capitalizing on this momentum, Souza opened a second location nearby in 1986. Today, North Beach Pizza boasts a growing empire with multiple San Francisco locations, including one under construction on Pier 39 and further expansion into Berkeley and San Mateo. Beyond building a restaurant empire, Souza is a recognized leader within the Bay Area's Brazilian community. He's known for mentoring former employees and fellow Brazilians, helping them launch successful businesses. We ordered a medium pie, half Aloha and half Meat Lovers, to take out during our last visit. We called and placed the order, and when we got there, it was ready and waiting for us. The Aloha comes with Canadian Bacon, Ham, and Pineapple. Meat Lovers is topped with sausage, salami, pepperoni, Canadian Bacon, and meatballs. We asked for the crust to be extra crusty, and it was. I wouldn't say I like sweet pizzas, but the Aloha tasted good. On the other hand, Meat Lovers is filling and delivers lots of flavors. One of the things I like about this North Beach Pizza location is the smiling and friendly staff. The dining area is charming, too. It is roomy and well-set up. We last ate there a while ago, but we will soon.

ordered take out. the XL pizza was big enough for 4-5 people surprisingly. it was delicious. lots of toppings. a bit too greasy imo. but still tasty. it did not take long to deliver either. so that was a plus. would order from here again.

Everything is made fresh the order, so be prepared to wait a little bit, especially if there's a line. We ordered the Primo, which was a classic Italian sandwich. On a Winter season stroll in the beginning of 2026 , I landed at Le Sandwich. This place has lots of sandwiches available made by Chef Elias. This was hands down the BEST food we had during our 4-day visit to San Francisco! I especially want to give a huge shout-out to the cook, Victor! You may think, "It's just pizza and wings," but NO--Victor made everything to perfection! The wings were cooked well done, just how we like them, with the perfect crispy texture. The pizza was delicious too! I only wish we had found this place on our first day. We ended up having dinner here on the last two nights of our vacation because we loved it that much! They also offer a 3% discount if you pay with cash. We paid around $35 for a small pizza (6 slices) 10 wings, and a drink. It was more than enough food for two people, and we even had leftover pizza. if you buy 1 slice of pizza the slices are pretty big. Other places we were spending almost $50 for two people each meal. I truly hope this place stays in business for many years to come. Great food, friendly service, good portions, and reasonable prices. If you're in San Francisco, give this place a try--you won't regret it! Five stars from us!
