    Breakfast bagel
    Candace G.

Probably the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had, hands down. The bagel was so fluffy and the ingredients were fresh. The service was also top notch, very friendly! There isn't much sitting room indoors, most of the tables are on the sidewalk to be patient if the weather isn't great! Highly recommend!

This is a gem of a little sandwich shop. The Reuben sandwich and the BLT are fantastic.

This place is a hidden gem! Came here for breakfast off a whim and I'm so glad I did. Tucked inside of Little Italy - this neighborhood spot serves up bagels and sandwiches. I ordered the J.Sapore and it was delicious! it was 10/10 the owner was the only one taking orders and serving us up which and we was the best! will be back

"Sandwich" feels inadequate for the absolute masterpieces being served up by Chef Elias here. Prepare to be ruined for life...nothing else will ever compare.

Must admit, IG videos have been catching my attention lately. So when the owner's daughter posted one, I thought to myself, how could I not know about a sandwich place in North Beach. Well, you knew I had to see for myself so I found time on a Friday morning to stop here. Despite having a lunch meeting, I stopped here, finding a metered parking space right in front around 10:30 am. There were two lady customers, one eating at a sidewalk table and another at the cashier counter. As I studied the menu while waiting, the gentleman behind the counter took and prepped her order. As he finished, he noticed that he forgot to turn on music and remedied that. He then took my order for two sandwiches to go and immediately worked on them. As I waited, a short line formed behind me that grew to five people by the time I paid and walked out. I started with the Primo sandwich (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=6bxVAn8OVA4P8ElyNstEAA), Genoa salami, Coppa ham, provolone, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, pepperocini, Italian dressing, having half with some soup that I had at home for dinner. Capital O M G. The balance of ingredients, the quality, and the flavors shined. As you see, there is no shortage of meat and the perfect amount of lettuce, tomato, red onions, and pepperocini so that nothing was overwhelming. I loved that he used an Italian dressing instead of your usual mayonnaise found in other delis. I finished the other half for lunch after wrapping it tightly in a clear plastic wrap and it was fine. The morning after buying it, I reheated half of the Godfather sandwich (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=i0B-YnP1CbtNwYqd0tUaHw), meatballs, tomato sauce, mozzarella, red onions in my toaster oven for breakfast. I enjoyed it but it was much better the following day for lunch when I heated it longer. I learned that the upper element of my toaster was not working so I couldn't toast or broil it. It would have been better if done that way. The ingredients were simple and, again, everything was balanced. I liked that the tomato sauce had a distinct flavor or bell or green pepper to mesh with the meatballs, cheese, and red onions. It is probably best to eat this hot after buying it. The shop is small with only four or five window counter seats inside and two 2-top tables on the sidewalk outside. If you are a group, the best option is walking to Washington Square, a couple blocks away and making a picnic of it. The drink refrigerator is to the right and self-serve. Thank you, Elias, for providing me basically four meals last weekend. Now I know why you have five stars as you amaze me in doing all of the tasks in running this business. *** Side note - Striking a conversation with the customer behind me in line, I learned that his breakfast bagel amazing too (bookmarked for next time). I learned that the customer and his gf were visitors from the country to the north and returned after telling me about that bagel sandwich.

As much as I'd like to support the local business, this spot did not make sandwiches that would entice me to return. It's a really small space, but it's cozy and well utilized. I got myself the turkey cranberry and pesto chicken sandwiches and left feeling empty. They didn't taste bad. The turkey and chicken were quite tender. But in general, the sandwiches didn't have much taste at all. It's not a place I can really recommend for a good sandwich.

Where Taste Meets Friendly Service A few days ago, I was walking by Le Sandwich, and I noticed them for the first time in the four years they've been in business! That should say something about my attention to my surroundings! I walked in to see what they offer. I ended up having a very friendly chat with the owner, Elias (Eli-S). He is a personable man and shared everything I needed to know, making me want to return and try one of his popular sandwiches. I say "popular" because while I was there, neighbor after neighbor walked in to place an order, and they all seemed to be repeat customers. Anyhow, I got myself a drip coffee and, as I walked out, made a mental note to be back after the Thanksgiving holiday. Today, I went back and asked Elias for his personal favorite sandwich. He obliged me, and I asked him which one it was when he handed me the hefty sandwich. He replied, "You won't find it on the menu!" I hurried home with the sandwich and took my first bite. It was delicious! The roasted chicken breast strips were cooked perfectly, juicy, and flavorful. The pesto sauce enhanced the taste, and the bread was toasted, thin, and hollowed out, holding everything together nicely! The sandwich had more than chicken and pesto sauce, but I was too hungry to slow down and analyze it! Le Sandwich has a couple of tables outside where, on a nice day, one can sit and enjoy their meal. They also have a few stools at a counter facing the window. You can get your sandwich to go, as I did, or eat it there before it gets cold! In addition to sandwiches, Le Sandwich offers a variety of other items, including salads, and pastries. It also has a selection of beverages, from coffee and tea to fresh juices. The prices are reasonable, and the portions are generous. Le Sandwich is open from 9 AM to 3 PM every day except Sunday when it is closed. I highly recommend giving Le Sandwich a try. You won't be disappointed if you're in the mood for a quick bite or a leisurely meal.

    Toscana
    Gerard Y.

I ordered the Toscana as it was chicken and pesto which was a tasty combination for this sandwich. I appreciate the fresh, sourdough roll which was soft with each bite. The guy behind the counter was pretty nice and was able to remember my order despite being fairly busy on an early Saturday afternoon. Very limited seating inside and out but there's a nice park 2 blocks away where I enjoyed my sandwich.

The sandwiches here are AMAZING and delicious and huge and made with love. We stopped in for a lunch on a mother daughter day and we were both delighted. And the owner is so kind and friendly. 11/10 would recommend. We had the chicken pesto and the tuna melt and wow!! Just incredible.

    The Viking
    Rachel S.

A perfect sandwich for the park! I tried both sandwiches and they were both really good. I think the Viking could have used mayo, but it was a good sandwich nonetheless. The granny Brie was genius (It's vegetarian!! ) and I'm definitely going to try to make my own at home.

Wonderful sandwich shop that also sells salads, pastries, to go drinks! We had the turkey and Viking sandwiches. Turkey sandwich is a warm sandwich, the turkey is delicious, the cranberry sauce is nice and sweet and the arugula adds a good balance. Viking sandwich was a bit salty given the smoked salmon with capers, but delicious. Both sandwiches are fairly generous in size. We had one sandwich on the standard roll the chef uses and one on rye. The standard roll is better :) We also had a cinnamon bun - made in-house - delicious!! Would happily come back and try more of the menu! Service is delightful. We got there around 140pm on Saturday and waited almost 30mins to order.

The seating area . Small but amazing for people watching and enjoying your lunch.

A truly amazing hidden gem in little Italy area. The sandwiches are the best not just around SF but anywhere. You truly can't go wrong with anything you get there. I am just working my way through the menu of different sandwiches and then start over again, but the best is always asking what the chef recommends or his special for the day. don't sleep on this one and get your sandwich fix

On a Spring stroll down Lombard and Van Ness where the hotel and motel signs are over mile deep I wanted to try an American favorite which are pizza pies. Pizza pies have become more American than apple pies these days . I went inside Chico's and tried their pepperoni and sausage before Good Friday approaches. The pizza slice was kind of cheesy like some in SF and it had pepperoni and sausage but not too saucy . The dough was pretty doughy but flakey like some in SF. It reminded me of some old school style of San Francisco pizza which is good paired with a case of beer.
