I can't begin to count how many times I've come to this course during their posted driving range…read morehours, only to be told that the range is closing early, or already closed. On multiple occasions this has happened well over two hours before the hours listed online and on the sign at the front door which clearly says "driving range closes at 4pm". It's incredibly frustrating to drive 20 minutes one way expecting the range to be open, only to find out otherwise. The lack of consistency is disappointing and reflects poor customer service. If hours are going to change regularly, they need to be updated accurately so customers aren't wasting their time.

Played Avalon this weekend. Had really nice weather for the first week of October. The course is in…read moregood shape. They have 27 holes and we played the North & South nines. Course is nothing fancy and it's pretty short (I want to say 2,700-2,800 yards from the whites for each of the nines we played). The beverage cart came through five or six times, which is probably the most I've ever experienced. The beers were cheap - $2 for a 12 oz Rainier and $4 for a 12 oz Bodhizafa. I used my prepaid round through the Around the Sound golf pass, so I don't know what the green fees are. The staff we encountered were all friendly - pro shop, starter, beverage cart, marshal. One thing I really liked was that they had a "warm up" bucket for the driving range. For most courses, the smallest bucket has 40-50 balls, but the "warm up" bucket had about 20, which is perfect if I want to shake off the morning rust. I don't need to hit fifty balls before my round, so it was nice to not have to pay for a larger bucket. It's definitely a course I'd play again if I were in the area.

Fairways were in the worst condition that I have ever played (and I just played another local course two days ago, so I know conditions are dry). But in many areas there wouldn't be any grass even if it had rained for a month. Lastly, I support young golfers learning the game, but when a group of 12 year olds take 6 to 8 practice swings with each shot, it slows the game to a painful pace and the pro shop needs to manage their game. (The kids were over 4 hours at 12 holes).

This is a fun and interesting place to play golf. No, it's no Country Club. It's more like an old…read morefarm turned golf course. But you're still out enjoying a round of golf in a place where you can relax and appreciate the views. Put 10 bucks in the box and be on your way. No dress code, nobody cares if you are slinging some thrift store clubs. Still some challenges to sort out on the course. I'm staying in the area for a couple weeks and I'll be back!

A foursome (probably from the bar) jumped right in front of us and proceeded to move out at a snails pace. I literally had all kinds of time to bring it to the attention of the pro shop. They of course did nothing to mitigate the problem. The foursome was probably GWI. (Golfing while intoxicated). We were only able to play 14 holes. There are spots where your ball might get plugged cuz it's a bit wet and muddy but no golf course is going to have mid summer conditions in early April! There is the pungent oder of manure to fertilize the fairways but that's to be expected. We played for $24 each plus golf cart! Pretty rock bottom price if you ask me! Yes yes I broke 100. I shot a 95. Homestead Golf is a deal and a half! If you're into golf and have a Nexus card give them a call and book a tee time!

If you forget to fill out the wavers, as you enter the amusement park parking lot, on poles are QR codes that take you right to the online wavers. Don't be THAT person. Do what you are supposed to do. This place is about the size of the parking lot. It's perfect! To all those folks who can't go on rollercoasters and get made fun of because of some sort of anxiety, this is your place! Only one fast body water slide that I did not go on. That being said, there are 7 slides. 2 of the 7 are inner tube slides. The rest are body slides. There's also a pool, small hot tub, shop and place where you can buy food (don't bring your cooler or any outside food). Drinks are free all day! Male and Female changing and bathrooms are easily accessible. In-between those areas are the small, medium and large lockers if you need them. Find yourself an Adirondack chair and have a great time at this little gem of an amusement park. As we were there, they were putting up their 40th Anniversary signs. Happy Anniversary!
