I was assured by the many individuals working at the Bessemer Social Security Office that my Retirement funds would begin appearing in my Regions Bank on Monday 01/12/2026. The anxiety created by this is catalyzing my decline in health and most like many other elderly individuals.

Whew! There may be…read morea better day or time to come here than Friday at 2:00. There were 6 people In Line already and only one clerk. Plus, two were not wearing masks. So we had to stand in line in back of a guy with no mask for 35 minutes. Yeah, that is not comfortable. This is a state government office. The law states you must have a mask. What this office should do is post on the door that people without a mask will not be served. Then do just that. No mask, no service.

If you are looking for a darker campground, this is absolutely not the place. They have so many white lights throughout the campground at night it is blinding. I would recommend buying completely blackout curtains and hoping they darken the lights some.

It states on their website and on various signs around the park to not bring your dogs in to the trade day area but I noticed a couple of people were walking theirs around. I plan to follow up with them to get some clarification. Overall, this makes for a fun day and it is really cool to see all of the old mills.

This was the best $5 I ever spent! This park is like a little Gatlinburg but in Alabama! Amazing…read morethings to see and do! The water was beautiful and the swimming areas are clean and fun for kids. The creamery doesn't allow pets inside ( i agree with that ) but when I joked with staff about having to leave my dog outside while I bought ice-cream they quickly offered her a Pup Cup of cream!! I was blown away! The open air train ride was fabulous! $1 per person one way or $2 round trip. They also allow your pet to ride with you!! The hiking trails were clearly marked and well maintained. I recommend bug spray as it is still very woodsy. The country store had essentials and souvenirs. We did not camp here due to the smaller camp sites and close proximity to other campers. We prefer the more open campground lay outs but would consider it during a less crowded season. The bath house was very clean! We plan to go back and attend trade days!

I just loved the water, it was so clear. reminded me when i was a small kid and used to play in the water at my grandma's house. I wish there were some blooming flowers there, it would have been so beautiful. The mill itself was closed, but we were able to walk around it and check it out. If you go to the park be sure to check it out.
