I honestly don't think words can fully capture how incredible my experience has been with North Central Family Dentistry, but I'm going to try because they truly deserve it. Through the Thank a Vet program, I was given an opportunity that changed my life--and the entire team went far beyond what anyone could reasonably expect. Over the course of about three and a half months, they didn't just provide dental care... they showed genuine dedication, patience, and respect in a way that I will never forget. From the very first visit, the front desk staff treated me with kindness, professionalism, and a level of care that made me feel seen and valued. Roxanne, Diane, and another wonderful lady whose name I unfortunately never caught always made my appointments easy to schedule and easy to keep up with. That kind of consistency and kindness does not go unnoticed--it made a huge difference for me. My first couple of visits were with Doctor Lonier and Lamiya, who helped with my extractions and fillings. I'll be honest--even as a grown man, I've always been afraid of getting my teeth drilled on. But their level of knowledge, professionalism, and care made the entire process feel manageable and far less stressful than I ever expected. They took something I feared and made it feel easy. Over the last two months of my treatment, I was usually seen by Sehra and Dr. Matt. I want to give a special shoutout to Sehra--thank you for everything. There were times I didn't even have a toothbrush and needed help, and you were there without hesitation. You answered all of my questions, handled my concerns immediately, and always treated me with patience and respect. That meant more than you know. Dr. Matt, thank you for your kindness and support. The amount of time you personally gave me during such a critical time in my life means the world to me. You didn't rush the process--you invested real time and care into making sure everything was done right, especially with my dentures. That level of dedication is rare, and I am truly grateful. What stands out the most is the time and sacrifice this entire team made for me. This wasn't quick or easy work--they spent months making sure I was taken care of the right way. That speaks volumes about who they are and how deeply they support military veterans. Because of all of you, I now have not only the dental care I needed, but also confidence and comfort that I haven't felt in a long time. Yay for North Central Dentistry. After my last disastrous attempt to get my crown fixed I called back to my dentist in CA to get a recommendation and I ended up at this dentistry. Staff is super friendly and helpful -- Lam was the sweetest with getting me setup. What I like is everyone took a minute to chat with me, and I feel super comfortable getting my work done. Dr Matt was just awesome. After introducing himself, he took some time to get to know me and had a good attitude about himself, I really enjoyed chatting with him. And the fact that they make crowns on site is HUGE! I was able to have everything fixed in hours. And their prices were super reasonable!!! I usually require some extra prep for dental work, again it was a breeze. Got my crown replaced and am happy as can be. I have been going to North Central Family Dentistry even before it was on Central Ave. I actually first went in 1976 when it was just Dr Hurt & located on 27th Ave. It changed locations to Central Ave & upon Dr Hurt retired it was acquired by Dr Matthew Lonier. The long tenured staff remained & Dr Lonier has been the best dentist. I have had several bridges, go for cleaning twice a year and he has kept my teeth & smile beautiful. I switched to North Central family dentistry. I am so glad I did my first appointment. I was there an hour and a half. They took a lot of time looking at my teeth, which I really appreciated. It made me feel like they really cared. They did space counts and other stuff that no Dentist has ever done. And took regular x-rays and other pictures. I have been going to North Central for a few yrs and have always been very pleased. In particular, I had a hygenist who worked with me and gave me many pointers. On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd give her a 10. Unfortunately, she retired....and so did I a few yrs ago. I think the hygenist who saw me this time was a temp. On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd give her a 5. Wow! This review f reflects the service and workmanship I received from Dr. Matt at North Central Family Dentistry. Initially, I went into the office to have the bonding on my front teeth fixed. An auto generated request to review my experience was sent to me via text. My experience was pleasant but I wasn't happy with the end result of the bonding repair. In LESS than an hour, Dr. Matt's office called me to invite me back into the office. Dr. Matt spent extensive time explaining the procedure and how he intended on fixing it. The result? AMAZING! I LOVE going to the dentist, specifically visiting this office. I am not kidding, lol! I was just there last week. First, you enter a beautiful remodeled office, and will be greeted by Diane and/or Renee! They are both very friendly and kind. They are always doing service with a smile. I love talking with them as I get checked in. My hygienist Mimi has always been absolutely amazing. She has a very gentle approach and does a great job with my cleanings. I can't say enough great things about Dr. Lonier and his amazing work. He has all the state of the art equipment to fit your needs! I had my new crown put on the same day! Need a night guard? He has a cool tool he uses for that too. His skills are top notch and he is meticulous with his work. You will NOT find a better dentist! I plan to come in for many years to come! I've lived in the Valley for almost two years, and was still seeing a dental team back home in another state when I would go to visit. After not travelling for a while due to the pandemic, I decided it was finally time to commit to finding doctors here so I could keep up with regular maintenance regardless of what's happening. Looking at the other Yelp reviews, I chose to check out Dr. Matt Lonier and North Central Family Dentistry, and I could not be happier with this decision! The office is clean, warm, inviting, and very up-to-date with tech! Signing in as a first-time patient was made seamless with an IPad. I didn't wait long at all either time for my appointment. While in the waiting room, I overheard the receptionist contacting interested parties with newly-available times based on cancellations. They run a really efficient ship here, and respect your time! For the exam, all x-rays are done right there in the chair! You are able to see the imaging of your teeth on a screen right in front of you, as well as any notes/tracking they take. It's cool to see everything up close! Olivia performed my cleaning, and was warm, gentle, and detail-oriented the entire time. They have these cool headpieces with the lights so that you don't feel like you are burning/wincing under a bright light the entire time. She was very thorough and attentive, but it was also a really painless/gentle experience. Dr. Matt noticed some erosion on my back molars due to clenching/acid reflux, and came up with an extremely reasonable treatment plan (not too expensive at all!) to help protect my teeth and ensure no further damage. I went back today. He was extremely gentle with the nerve blockers, even talking me through all steps of the procedure and when to breathe, focus on something, or squeeze the stress tooth if needed, as I had shared I was nervous and hadn't ever had fillings or any oral shots before. The entire process was very, very easy due to how attentive he was. Without a doubt, this is the best dental office I have ever been to between several cities and states, and I'm so happy to be under their care! It's a gem! read more

Renee is very unprofessional and extremely rude. I have been going to this office for two years now. I had an amazing experience for my first year here. Olivia was my dental hygienist and she is absolutely spectacular. She went above and beyond for me and consistently delivered exceptional customer service. She left several months ago, but they were unable to tell me where she went so I could not follow her. I decided to continue with this office since I had such a great experience. I am now uncertain that this was a good decision. Renee, the front desk lady is consistently rude and always has an attitude. This has been the case since I very first went to this office, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt, however each time she showed me that this was a mistake. I called yesterday to schedule an appointment for my boyfriend and they had a last minute opening for this afternoon. After scheduling, Renee called and left me a voicemail stating that she could not verify his coverage, she suggested I reach out to his insurance company but also stated that if I did not call back the appointment would be cancelled. This was very inconvenient as I was working and could not step away to call her, but since she made it so urgent I was able to get my boss to let me call her back. I told her that I would reach out to the insurance first thing in the morning and try to get it squared away before the appointment. I was on the phone all day (in between my normal work duties) and was unable to get the issue fixed. I called her immediately after finding out that there was no way to use his insurance for the appointment today, this was two hours before the scheduled appointment. She responded in a very harsh/rude tone "Well it's a little late to be letting us know". I stated that I was trying to get his coverage figured out, to which she replied "Well you could of let me know this morning around 9am. I won't be able to fill this appointment now." I advised her that I did the best I could and I only just found out nothing could be done. She then tried to rush me off the phone in a very flippant manner and I had to cut her off right as she was about to hang up because I wanted to reschedule the appointment (which she never offered). She then stated that she wasn't sure about scheduling with me until I had the insurance information since I didn't have it for today. I advised her that I DO have the information and the information I provided her yesterday is accurate, I just didn't know that the insurance was not active until 12/1. She sighed and replied "the next available appointment is January 10th", I told her I'd take it and she then rushed me off of the phone again. Her attitude was extremely uncalled for and incredibly unprofessional. She has only gotten more and more rude since I first became a patient. Please hire someone new! read more

But thanks to the very positive reviews I read, North Central Family Dentistry became my choice. The friendliness and caring I had read about in the reviews immediately became apparent from the initial phone call I made to ask for an appointment. The dental visit itself was a remarkable experience - I had never before been so at ease and relaxed during a dental visit, thanks to the friendliness of everyone in the clinic, from the reception desk to the actual dental procedure room. My hygienist Mimi was phenomenal, engaging me in pleasant conversation and explaining to me in very understandable detail each procedure and the status of my teeth and previous dental work, all the while encouraging me to continue the proper dental care routines I had been practicing. She performed an excellent and thorough tooth cleaning procedure and periodontal examination before Dr. Matt came in to give me a further examination and to present to me some suggestions for future dental visits, based on the x-ray records and dental/periodontal examination. The rates for services are very reasonable as well - a very important consideration for me, as I currently pay out of pocket. His office uses state-of-the-art equipment and his professional demeanor and knowledge, as well as that of his staff, makes me very confident that when I come for future visits, I will do so with none of the apprehension that has normally accompanied me to dental visits in the past. read more

Admittedly, I am a coward as it pertains to dental treatment. I am ashamed to say I neglected my dental health for many years. I knew I badly needed my teeth cleaned and other dental services. I finally pulled my courage together, and upon a referral from a friend at work, I chose North Central Family Dentistry. Mimi, the dental hygienist did a wonderful job cleaning my teeth. She was thorough and gentle and provided me with good information to stay ahead of my dental hygiene. A week later, Dr. Matt went to work and fixed the chip on my front tooth, took care of a filling on another and did a great job on a crown. Nerves racing, anxiety at 100% I walked into the dreaded dentist office to get my teeth cleaning done and over with! Also, it had been about a year and half since my last cleaning so I knew there would be consequences. What a surprise to find this hidden gem in the central corridor. You walk into a beautiful office full of comfy furnishings and stone walls. It almost feels like a salon/spa as opposed to a dentist office. My hygienist Bonnie had beautiful teeth so I knew immediately I was in good hands. She cleaned my teeth quick and without hassle, meaning I didn't' get chastised for being a relaxed flosser. After my teeth were all buffed and clean I saw Dr. Harmon who has the most comforting personality. She informed me about my dental health, told me areas we'll continue to watch in the next 6 months and then pleasantly assured my fears that I didn't haven't a cavity. She even pointed out specific ares on my X-rays and let me see what she was talking about. The icing on the cake was a kit of yummy chap stick, floss, and a new toothbrush to be on my with. No one in the office tried to up-sell me on things like Invisalign, veneers, teeth whitening, or fancy laser treatments. My previous dentist office, that I had been with for many years, seemed to turn into a high pressure sales office and it started to feel like I was at a car lot. The staff here is as good as it gets- Renee at the front desk was very welcoming and took care of my insurance and paperwork promptly, Mimi was one of the best hygienists I've ever had, and Dr. Matt was honest, straightforward and very kind. I will be bringing my entire family here. One of the deciding factors for coming to this office (besides all of the good reviews here on Yelp) was the fact that Dr. Matt and his staff volunteered their services at HopeFest Phoenix. Had my first visit to North Central Family Dentistry this week. Really positive experience (not easy to say about a dentist visit). I have pretty good teeth so I don't go every year like I should so I'm always nervous about going, even for a cleaning like this time. Mimi cleaned my teeth and could not have been nicer!! Went quickly and she did a great job. They used a newer x-ray machine that let me see my X-rays on a monitor right in front of me (no films that needed to be processed) and I never had to leave the chair. Dr Matt came to check me out after I had my teeth cleaned. He had already seen my X-rays so was ready and didn't waste time, which I appreciate. He was friendly but efficient and he and Mimi spoke for two seconds about a couple spots that she wanted him to check out. He was thorough and confident (really dislike when a dentist or doctor is unsure...) and said everything was all good. I love when one person says she is concerned but then the other confirms that it's not a problem. Makes me feel like they are trying to do a good job and not just hustle me out or squeeze me for a procedure I don't need. They were really friendly, nice and efficient. Also the office was nicely decorated - not sterile and cold. You know you're there when you see the big wrought iron gate at the door. All around good experience. No complaints. Dr. Matt is as good as they come. I have had issues with every dentist managing pain dating back to childhood and as a result of that dental anxiety has been a real issue. Dr. Matt and his staff makes the entire process pain free. They have invested in real quality equipment and it makes a huge difference. Dr. Matt also takes the time to explain to you in layman's terms why they are doing what they are doing. My father, mother and siblings are all patients and I'd recommend them to anyone.
