Dr Eric Smith, urologist, is one of the best doctors I've had the privilege of working with. Yes,…read morethe practice he's in does a lot of vasectomies, but I'm a woman with kidney cancer and he's been wonderful with me. He listens, he works cooperatively with me, he's knowledgeable. He's a genuinely nice person, and in my book that counts for a lot. The office staff is easy to work with. I would recommend him to anyone.

Eric was recommended to me by my Internist. Thus based on my Internist's recommendation I went to Eric and could not at his point be happier. I have two serious conditions he is treating and he is detailed oriented, explaining in layman terms, taking all the time I need to digest the information. literally placing his hand on my knee as he has had to give me some bad news and telling me that he is in it with me for the long haul to see me through my ordeal to a positive end on both my situations. Although I have a long road he is giving me pre-surgery information, what the post-op situation will be, no matter how grim, and what to expect all the way, exactly what I need to warp my head around my illness. He has read me well. He is compassionate, well versed, draws diagrams to assist explain, and is not just a physician but a real person! Great call by my Internist! And, I'd been to 6 other Urologists before finding Eric!

I would agree with other reviewers that Dr. Goldberg's office is old and outdated compared to other…read moredoctor offices. However, since that has no impact on medical competence or quality of care, it never bothered me. I grew up poor, so office decor isn't really something I care about anyway. If you end up going to UT Southwestern in Dallas for advanced diagnostics or procedures the offices there are very nice if that kind of thing matters to you. His staff has always been great, and Dr. Goldberg has been very responsive via the online mychart system, including proactively sending messages following tests. Scheduling, including schedule changes have been easy, and I've never waited that long after arriving for an appointment. Does he come off as grumpy? Yea, that's fair. But he does smile and get excited when I've had good results and outcomes. My goal has been to see if I can get him to smile during a visit :).

This is actually painful to write. I had seen Kenneth Goldberg probably 25-30 years ago with a…read morepositive experience and gave him a perfect rating based upon my prior experience. Things have changed, yes the healthcare industry can be disappointing at times. Read the other bad reviews as they are true. He really should retire if this is the best he has. He now does not listen, literally walked out of the room not answering my questions. Tried to explain that I had a 6 hour surgery scheduled that was extremely important/expensive and personally did not want to do anything that would interfere from getting it done. He did not want to hear about it. He bullied me into proceedure that could have easily waited two weeks ending up with me going to the emergency room on a Saturday night two days before the surgery was to be performed. Exactly what I was trying to avoid. I trusted him completely, but was completely disappointed. He brought a ton of grief on myself and as a result of his crudeness, put my pending surgery into limbo that took me all day today to attempt to correct. This could have been completely avoided if he would just listen to what I was trying to tell him. He had zero interest in what I had to say. Obviously all about him and not you. Denny
