I told him I'd be in the hospital by that time as bad as I was feeling. He said coldly, "Call me from the hospital." Rude, uncaring and unprofessional. After seeking help elsewhere, it tuned out I had a kidney infection that was resistant to antibiotics. If I had taken North Dallas Urology Associates' advice to ignore the infection (until hospitalized) I could have become septic and died. Post-surgery I had complications due to my particular reaction to the procedure. He spent nearly two hours at the hospital that evening providing care for me directly which avoided a second surgery. Dr. Dennis Ortiz then performed a surgery on my mother and then when she called him reporting pain afterward - he did not call her back until 36 hours later by which point she had to call an ambulance and was taken to the hospital. Once she was in the hospital he recommended that she check out against medical advice of the hospital which would lead to Medicare not covering her stay. Thank goodness we found another Urologist for her. DR.ORTIZ IS INCOMPETENT.
