Chase has banks in 26 states and is one of the "big four" banks that handle millions of peoples' banking needs. As I mentioned, I have never had an issue at this Chase in particular and can imagine that since it's in Bellingham that it's likely staffed by people who are local and may have even grown up or spent their entire lives living in the state of WA. So maybe, if you have a problem with someone who told you the time frame it would take to open a credit card with them in a fashion you were upset with, you should blame it on that person (who is almost 100% going to be a Washingtonian) and not somehow randomly talk about CA. I went back home and brought her to the branch to get her new card. Come to find out, it was the manager of the bank. His name is Charles Christensen. I filed a complaint to the main office. This is a fair warning to all the regular hard working people out there who choose to Trust this bank with their money-don't! If, god forbid, you hold an account here and your account gets hacked, do NOT expect Banner Bank to do a damn thing to help you! First off, after hours is after hours, you will have absolutely no way to report an account breach, there is no option for this, there is a lost or stolen and you can shut your card off, but that's it, no one to talk to to help you through a scary, intrusive situation. When your account is completely wiped out by a hacker, they will tell you there is nothing they can do until all the charges clear! And then, and only then, can we dispute the charges, which will take up to a few weeks to maybe get your money back! YOUR MONEY IS NOT SAFE HERE! Especially if you are a paycheck to paycheck family, like a lot of us these days, you are risking not being able to provide groceries that week because a shitty person decided to steal your entire paycheck! You will risk not being able to purchase your prescriptions and hope to god you will be able to keep going till next payday because Banner Bank will not help you, not at all! As a matter of fact, they won't respond to any messages if they are sent in the after hours, don't expect to get a response ever. We've had issues here every now and then, the most popular one is when they lose your entire deposit, yes, that's happened several times, but we still stayed for some stupid reason and now this happens and good luck to those who choose to trust you, I wouldn't wish this treatment to my worst enemy!

The interest rate would be changed at that time to the new market value. We received the form letter reminding us of this and letting us know when our term matured. We chose not to make any changes figuring a competitive market rate would still be offered. I happened to check yesterday. The 4-5 month CD is at 4.88%. Our now 6 month CD is at .15%! Yes! Almost nothing and less than our savings accounts making 1.24%. We did not receive any notice that a change this extreme was in the works. We are closing out the CD today and reinvesting. This is not a reflection on the Barkley staff, but rather on the management of the bank and their lack of communication to support their customers in making vital decisions to protect their well being.

The counter service people were excellent, quick, and knew their stuff. They immediately explained all of the products they offer and booked a meeting with the account manager in a half hour's time. I went for a stroll around the block and when I came back the manager was very courteous and processed my application online while he was entering my information, handed me the account package and encouraged me to contact him if I had any questions. The next week my bank card came and although I'm not doing any transactions here yet, the statements have been arriving promptly, everything seems very well thought out and easy to understand and efficiently executed. The service charges are the lowest I've encountered. Very happy customer.
