Of course the black and camel colors dominate but there are a few red and even turquoise options for the women. The amount of jackets and inventory packed into this store, while still being able to see the items and navigate, is clearly magic. In addition to the leather jackets, they have a few absolutely stunning wool capes, in red and black. I look at them every time I am there and one day will break down and buy the red one, so perfect for th entire month of December! Or maybe the black one, perfect throughout the late fall and winter. See, that's my problem! Indecisive! There are some Aztec print capes also, which are very affordable. And shawl type collars with the same print which would make a nice contrast to any solid coat you have, and keep your neck toasty warm. There is a selection of Brighton handbags, belts and jewelry, a contrast to the other leather goods in that they are mass produced, but nice for those who like their style. Last time I stopped in the owner never greeted me, which doesn't typically bother me as I'm super independent, but she spent the entire time in the phone talking about the presidential debate. I get enough of that in the news and social media and went to Cannon Beach precisely to get away from all that noise! Some of them are very western well others seem to be much more bedazzled and some fall into the kind of outdoorsy/hippie hipster zone. So with that said, you have to kind of find spots that cater to your interest because all of those are valid and overlap on a leather bag and product store Went in for her birthday and oddly enough they had a 50% off sale on just a few items and one of those was the item we were just about to buy a full price . Absolute great service they not only branded a custom tag for us for free but they also let us know that the items were 50% off even though we were just about to pay for a price so absolute kudos to you great job

Such a great smell. The products are well made and high quality. They had a nice variety of items and the displays were done in a way that was extremely visually appealing and pulled me in to look at a variety of items. Luke, the manager welcomed us to the store and provided information about the brand (out of Eugene OR). He and the other woman working were knowledgeable and helpful in answering questions. Pricing - seemed reasonable against other higher end leather products. Will I be back - YES!

Low quality, no replacement/refund, lack of communication, very surprising return policy…read more Last July, I was visiting Portland and bought some clothes at the Michael Allen store on Morrison St. Among other things, I bought an Italian jacket, Transit, which looks I really liked. To my surprise, after inspecing the jacket upon my return to the UK, I found out that ot was not pure cotton, whereas I repetitively informed the salesperson, Jake Houston, that I only want 100% cotton clothes. I decided not to engage in returns and refunds at this point, as I did like the looks of the jacket, but indeed remembered the occasion. Unfortunately, this was only the beginning. Despite treating it carefully (I never even washed it and of course did not machine-dry it; well, I never even ran into a rain in it) the thread looks like it's dissolving with tiny broken elastic threads showing everywhere. It appear that the quality of the fabric was of unacceptable quality, dissolving after a few months of wearing. Needless to say, I can no longer wear the jacket.  Considering the price of the jacket of over 600 USD, this is very disappointing. I bought the jacket along with several other items at a total price over 1000 USD. When I contacted the store, I first received no response for about a month. Then, I heard back from Anita Noll, office manager. Later on, salesperson Jake Houston returned to me, suggesting I repair the jacket myself. (And presumably, keep repairing it every 6 months, as I see no reason for why the issue would not keep returning). In response, I mentioned that it does not feel comfortable to me to repair a piece of non-cheap cloth used with care and not extremely often for less then a year. I suggested that the situation here indicates that the fabric/thread was not of sufficient quality, originally. Therefore, I asked for a refund, in order to be able to get a replacement here in the UK. Jake Houston responded that it is too far outside of their two week return policy.  In response, I drew attention to the fact that returns related to insufficient quality are normally not the ones falling under the 2-week fitting policy. It would be really surprising for me if a premium store would not address a quality issue on an expensive item within a year from purchase.  To this, I got no response for 1,5 months by now, neither from Jake Houston, nor from the office manager Anita Noll, to the request to connect me to their quality control/management. Me informing them of my rule to post my feedback publicly did not result in any response, which makes me very puzzled about the store's reputation management.  This was all quite disappointing to me, creating with me an impression of some shady business going on, which is not that of a respectable store Michael Allen's seems to present itself. I shall stay away from this store and advise others to do the same.

But I could not believe the inventory and the colors available of leather was just a beautiful site. My boyfriend found big gloves as his a big gentle giant. So we were happy but I highly suggest checking out the inventory because I scored native America beads. The outside is deceiving so do not judge just go inside. They are the authority when it comes to leather in Portland! Love it! Stellar customer service.

To make a customized order they are about a year out before your order is completed. A deposit is required in order to continue the order towards it's completion. Then as the time draws closer you go in so your measurements will match with what they make for you. There is a lot of leather jackets already for sale in which you can immediately purchase providing you find a fit that is good for you. Being a clothes horse myself I could easily place an order as well but I don't have anything specific in mind to pursue that at the moment. It was a lot of fun browsing around and I loved the autographed picture of one of the band members from the Lunachicks that apparently purchased a leather garment here at one point!

The other store is the…read more"boutique" store that only sells "premium" leather (but no unicorns) while this store is the warehouse version, about 3x larger and sells unicorns. If you are a fan of this brand, you know unicorns are unique versions of bags that can't be purchased online unless you get it through a mystery sale or mystery bag purchase. It's the blind box version of bags lol. Highly coveted if you get a color you're fond of. It's very cool that the store offer these! The great thing is you'll know exactly what color you're getting, and you can feel and wear the bag before committing to it. The reason I didn't give this a 5th star is because I didn't see many "littles" that I was interested in and I also wanted a different style of belt but they didn't have any in my size. It seemed like they were under stocked. I didn't get a bag on this trip (only got a belt-which I have worn and love) but I definitely should have because I tried on a small Naomi in the store and decided when I got home that I still really wanted it and proceeded to purchase it online--with cali tax and shipping . I placed my second order with Portland Leather just one week after my first purchase. During…read morecheckout, I entered the WELCOME30 code I had used before, but it didn't apply and my order processed at full price. I understand that WELCOME30 is a one-time-use code. That's not the issue. At the time, Portland Leather was running another promotion, SUNNY25, which would have given me 25% off. In their response, they acknowledged that if I had entered that code, I would have received the discount. I contacted customer service immediately after placing the order to either cancel it or have the current promotion applied. Unfortunately, there is no option to cancel an order and no customer service phone number to call, so email is the only way to reach them. Their response was that they could not make any retroactive adjustments. Instead, they offered me 600 reward points toward a future purchase. Considering they admitted I would have qualified for the 25% discount, this felt like a very inadequate resolution. Portland Leather seems to have a sale running almost constantly, which makes it feel like the sale price is their actual everyday price. I like their products, but the lack of flexibility and poor customer service left me very disappointed.
