This place is exactly what a true surf shop should be! The owners, Karry and Jen, are locals who know and live the Ocean Shores surf scene and are always super nice and helpful. Renting boards and other equipment is dirt cheap (for example, renting a board & wetsuit for 24 hours will only set you back $30). Plus they are always on top of the clothing trends and pretty much have any gear you may need for surfing, skating, or biking on hand. I've been going to the North Coast Surf Shop since it opened back in the 90's and I will talk them up to anyone! Check em' out! read more

I love this surf shop. It's been in Ocean Shores almost as long as I've been coming here - they opened seventeen years ago - and their tiny shop is the only real surf shop in the area. The owners are "real surfers," but they have absolutely no problems with non-surfers coming in, shopping around, and asking for tons of assistance finding swimsuits and sweatshirts. Jen helped me find a bikini top and board shorts while commiserating with my partner about a fear of deep water - hers is river-related (even a surfer can hate SOME kinds of water!). The prices for non-surf rentals are higher than bargain-hunters are willing to pay, because everything in the shop is brand name. However, everything I've purchased from this shop has lasted for years. I will happily shop there again! read more

There are two buildings on the same property; a surf shop and a skate/bike shop. I spent most of my time in the skate/bike shop because it was so cool. No really, it just was. They don't carry lame-o tourist crap. They carry really good stuff. From skateboards to longboards to beach cruisers, they have some high-quality gear. They just barely missed out on 5 stars because I wasn't greeted warmly (actually at all) when I first walked to the entrance to the surf shop to peer inside. I think I got in the way as they set-up for the day, and that became apparent as the gal working almost speared me with a board. Kind of a nice way of not saying, "get out of my way!" It would be one thing if it was 85 degrees and sunny, but it was 55 and raining, so she probably could have been a little more chipper to me because it's not like tourists were knocking down the door to get a board for the day. That's okay, because the guys over at the bike/skate shop made up for it. They were cool with my two and four year-old kids running around pulling on stuff, taking out 5 hacky-sacks and throwing them around. I ended up buying one so I felt better. When all was said and done, I left there with a new skimboard, hacky sack, grip tape for my longboard, and sex wax for the skimboard. $42. Not bad! They even told me they were competitively priced because the Internet was their competitor. Brilliant! Finally someone who knows what they're talking about. I'm really glad I stopped in! read more

If you want your bike fixed this is the place to go. There fast and did a realy good job. They will have my business as long as I live here and there around. I took it in on the the 11th and they had it fixed on the 12th WOW!!! I look foward to doing more business with them in the future. I'm 62 and they treated me very nice. Right on! read more

Great experience for the money...I apologize, as I was a pain in the butt about some of the charges (they have a 1 hour rental, but there's really no way you can get a board, surf and get back in an hour, so I ended up paying for 2), so I felt a little duped, but in the end, a lesson and a couple hours rental was about 100, which seems reasonable. Maybe rework the packages so you don't have to add extra charges all the time ... and make sure to get the board waxed. They were nice and the surf teacher was also friendly and positive.
