I bought a used bike here at Lavogue bike shop 5 years ago. I decided I would purchase a new bike here again because the Owner Terry is the Best! And really sincere and honest. He knows his bikes and will make an effort to fix all types. I live in Gray Harbor, but I'd drive from Spokane to get a bike here. This guy runs a successful bike shop without advertising, he succeeds with great service, a positive attitude, and word of mouth customers. I just bought my 5th bike from LaVogue's Bike Shop, my first one being almost 15 years ago. I can say that it is the same guy running it who was working there when I got my first bike. He knows his bikes and inventory very well. When I walked in I told him what I was looking for (a Trek 4300) and he immediately pointed 3 out to me but said I'd probably be looking for a 16 inch frame which he could tell just from looking at me. He was right, a 16 inch frame is what I needed. He didn't have one put together but he told me he had one boxed that was in the color I wanted and he could have it put together for me to try out. They didn't get to it that day but they had it the next. I liked it and bought it. Went back a few days later and got my wife a bike too. The other 3 bikes I got here were many many years ago when I was a kid and they are still in fine condition despite thousands of miles being put on them over the years. When I am looking for my next bike this is where I'll go. As for pricing, the prices of the bikes I got and the other bikes I saw were below MSRP but still slightly higher than some bike shops charge, not by much though. read more

The bike shop here has repaired my bike on a couple of occassions. The quality of the work that I have experienced at this shop is top-notch. I have had similar work done by many other bike shops where the quality of the repair is not even close. Not only is the quality of the work supurb, but they also do the work for a fraction of the price of the other shops. The only con about about this business is that they are very busy right before summer, so they sometimes take a while to get the repairs done. However, they are completely upfront about this when you drop your bike off. The bike shop is a part of a larger store that seems like it hasn't changeds since the 1950's, so it in itself may make for an interesting stop if you are passing through Hoquiam on your way to the beach. read more

A friend and I just got into the sport of cycling a couple months ago. So we decided to drive from Seattle to Aberdeen, and explore the coastal areas by bicycle! A mile out from base camp, my buddy blew a tube on a vintage bike on a vintage (hard to find) tire size, which we did NOT bring a spare for. We thought we were EFFED. Entire trip down the drain. A quick Google search led to this shop. I gave them a call at 4:30 PM and told the shopkeeper of our dilemma. His response? "Well, we close at 5:00 PM but I have tons of work to catch up on at the shop and I will probably be here late. Please come by, I would love to help." So we drove the 50 miles to this man's store and arrived around 6:00 PM. Not only was he waiting there with a smile on his face, but he immediately stopped his current task to assist us in replacing our tube. Not ONLY did he replace the tube, (and show us newbies how it's done,) he also went over nearly every important component of the bike with a fine tooth comb. For free. Without being asked. It's evident this man knows everything there is to know about bicycles. Not exaggerating. After nearly an hour of close examination, he sent us on our way for a grand total of under $20. On his off hours. With a smile on his face. This shop knows the true meaning of customer service. I would drive from Seattle to Hoquiam in a heartbeat to have this man service my bicycle in the future. read more

The gentleman that runs the bike shop is excellent! He has many custom bikes available and for repairs, he is very reasonable. He got my jogging stroller good to go and even helped me load it in my trunk. If you need/want a bike, this is the place to go. read more

The storefront doesn't necessarily project first class and they're a tad eccentric, but don't let that fool you. He does good work at a very reasonable price. The items he sells are priced fair as well. For instance, I was looking at a Park Tool crank puller on Amazon and found it to be priced a dollar cheaper at Lavogue's. There is a good selection of higher end bikes from the likes of Giant and Trek for youth sizes on up. He also stocks most of the normal wear and tear stuff like brake pads, chain rings, tires and much more. Oh yeah, he doesn't give you any static about bringing in a bike he doesn't sell either. Just treats you like any other customer and gets it done. read more
