My Scripps primary care doc referred me to Dr Philips. Very poor service. The DR, who looked like he spent a lot of time in the gym, after first trying to sell me on Urolift procedure ( i believe this was his 2nd spoken sentence to me! ), gave me samples of Uribel. His helper ( nurse???) said Uribel was over the counter, Which it is not! So, calling them Friday afternoon at 2:25 to get a prescription for either Uribel or Tamsulosin ( cause I am now out ), i was notified that the DR was not in and would not be in til Tuesday ( after the Memorial Day weekend ). So, unless you wanna be sold for 30 minutes by the iPad type screen in the exam room and then tried to be sold by the DR on getting a Urolift ( he has done more than anyone in North Co according to him ) .... just stay away from here. My perception is that this is mostly a SALES Oriented " let's do a procedure " place. Don't bother. read more

First time as a patient here, and was assigned to Dr. Boonjindasup (Dr. Boon). He was very kind, listened to all my questions, explained the procedure he was going to have to do for my particular problem and made sure I had the prescriptions I needed. When I was in the hospital, he again took time to explain everything that was going to happen, patiently answered all of my questions, and made sure to follow up with me just a few days later. Ladies at the front desk are extremely rude. Waiting for my father in law to be seen , we have been waiting for over an hour and a half and during that time have heard them argue with patients. They mixed up my father in laws appointment, and it seems like half the people waiting to be seen as well, and are now blaming the client and acting extremely rude and short with them. read more

This office could use a little lesson in professionalism. Not only were we early because that who we are, but we waited for over an hour to be put in another room go wait another thirty minutes. No one addressed us after asking us to wait. The lack of communication is one thing. But another is what you hear through these thin walls. I shouldn't know what the patient next to us is currently going through. Or the nurses and aides planning the rest of their day as we wait for who knows how much longer. I've been here 3 times and each time the girls at the front are rude and talk with a major attitude! If it weren't for my being in horrible pain for my kidney stones I would have complained to the office manager right then and there but I had no energy. I've been a patient of Dr. Frasier for 25 years. His diagnosis, explanations and treatments have always been spot on. I am still here today because of his treatment and enjoy a completely normal life that gives me time to spend with my family. Dr. Phillips saved my life. After getting extremely bad advice from another Urology practice, I met Dr Phillips and his business partner after being admitted into Tri City hospital with a 9mm stone stuck in my left urethra. Both Urologists were highly knowledgeable, gave me statistical success rates of the surgical options available to me and even though I saw both doctors at different times, they both were on the same page, answered every single one of my questions and made me feel comfortable and confident in their approach. They laparoscopically went up through my bladder yesterday morning blasted the stone with a laser and removed the pieces under anesthesia. I have a stent in for the next week but the pain I feel when peeing is short, it goes away quickly and is being managed with the medication they prescribed. These doctors are amazing and I am so beyond thankful that they crossed paths with mine, restored my faith in good doctors and saved my life. I woke up from surgery feeling a rush of energy I haven't felt in years. I suffered with chronic fatigue, daily back pain, ibs, depression, sore joints, and later developed almost daily migraines and I woke up to after surgery and I feel amazing. It's like I'm living in someone else's body, my energy levels are incredible! It's an absolute dream come true, and this is only one day after surgery. I can't even imagine how incredible I will be feeling weeks for now if this is how I feel 1 day out. I read former reviews saying their front desk staff is a nightmare, my experience is they called me right after surgery yesterday to schedule the follow up appointment and were very professional, and super nice. I just wanted to write a review and tell the doctors how thankful I am. They did a A+ job! I will recommend these doctors to anyone I know for the duration of my time here on earth that are in need of honest, dependable, professional, superman-like urologists. The stent removal was a little stressful from the anticipation of it but it was over quickly and although I'm a bit sore now, this pain is nothing like the pain I had before surgery and I find solace in knowing this is temporary while healing and this pain will come to an end. Dr. Phillips, the world is in desperate need of more doctors like you. Your bed side manner is outstanding, you really can tell how much you care about your patients by the quality of care you provide, the genuine answers you give to all my questions and comprehensive plan you have to keep me healthy long term is deeply appreciated. I just wanted you to know that a day in the life of you being a Urologist, a single surgery on your books of I'm sure many other procedures, changed the trajectory of my life. The moment I woke up from that surgery, the dark cloud that hung above my head from the daily struggle of living in constant pain, was gone. It's hard to have anything good to say about having a kidney stone, but under the circumstances, I was very pleased with my experience at North Coast urology. Dr. Phillips was very pleasant and went out of his way to work with me. I was always seen very quickly and was treated very well by the front office staff. I love the young ladies at the front desk. They were friendly towards me and helpful. Karen and Susie(Susy?) were especially nice and helpful. It's the doctor I had an issue with. Dr. Vilchis is an incompetent doctor. My doctor sent me to her because of four UTIs in a matter of a few months. She leaves me in the room undressed while she spends over 10 minutes talking to the person in the room next to me. When she finally gets to me she barely exams me and tell me ways to prevent an UTI. Take a bath every day(seriously?!), ways to clean my area, drinking plenty of water, etc.. Things I am already doing. When I came back she tell me the result of my radiology test and ask me if I have any questions in such a rush, in other words she was ready to leave the room before she stepped inside. I started reaching for my purse. She asked me was I practicing what she told and I told her she didn't tell me anything that I already wasn't doing. She is a great disappointment and I wish I never requested a female doctor to begin with, it's something I truly regret. When she said come back for a follow up I really wanted to see someone else but I felt as if I had to see her. If I need to go back I won't ask for her. I was disappointed in their coordination of benefits. In our fourth visit , when discussing a procedure and getting ready to schedule surgery, the coordinator/manager comes to tell us they don't take my aunts secondary insurance. When they accepted the referral they didn't say anything nor when we came and gave the medical cards. When we asked how is it possible that they didn't tell us earlier their response was didn't you read the book. My aunt is here since the hurricanes in Puerto Rico. We had to transfer all her medical insurance here so as to meet her medical needs. The coordination of benefits are horrible . My aunt is in pain. Now she has to go through the entire process . We have asked how much our part would be if we only use the one insurance . We still haven't heard back. We have left a message and verbally asked Cinthia (manager) about our share of cost and just been ignored. My aunt has been through enough where her house was destroyed and having to relocate: Now she has to deal with inept people . Read the book they say...... learn to use quality customer service and follow up with patients. read more

I am thrilled with the success of the operation care and medical treatment provided by Dr. Frasier. Getting an appointment was easy and assistant was most accommodating. The lobby is first class and comfortable The wait was less than 5minutes to get to exam room. The exam rooms are impressively equipped with all the technical equipment necessary to measure symptoms and generate diagnosis. Let me start by saying my review and rating does not reflect on Dr Guerena himself. He is a great doctor, very professional and took amazing care of me during a very painful time. My rating is a reflection of his staff, front office in particular. Unfortunately I had a kidney stone and was in the worst pain I've ever had to experience which is what brought me to North Coast Urology in the first place. I was referred by my insurance. Upon scheduling my first appointment I told the receptionist I just got out of the ER and was diagnosed with a large kidney stone that I couldn't pass and I needed it removed. She scheduled the appointment for 2 days later. Once I got there on a Friday the dr they scheduled me with came in to see me she said she doesn't even treat kidney stones and gave me some meds and scheduled me to come back the following week with her associate Dr Guerena who would be able to treat me. I was scheduled to see him the following Wednesday afternoon. That following Tuesday I called the office during regular business hours and got their voice mail. I left a message stating that I was in extreme pain and if I could please get in ASAP. I got no call back!! Then on Wednesday morning I got a call from the receptionist telling me they had to cancel my appointment and they couldn't see me until Friday. After I complained that I left a message the day prior with no call back and that I was in extreme pain she told me to come to office now. I live an hour away so I left immediately got there within an hour and was left waiting almost 2 hours before I finally got called to the exam room. Dr Guerena was very nice and explained the surgery etc. and had his surgery coordinator work me into his surgeries for that Friday. He fit me in during his lunch hour. I was truly grateful. Unfortunately I had some complications after the surgery which caused me to go back to the office a couple more times and each time the front office had scheduled me incorrectly, they over charged me on my office copayment every time even after I told them the copayment was only $20 they insisted it was $40. My insurance representative finally had to call them and correct them and now Cynthia from the office is refusing to refund me because suddenly now I owe them money but I've yet to receive a bill. She was so rude and unprofessional. I was nice about the situation until my patience finally wore out from how rude she was to me. I work in the healthcare profession and I can't imagine my staff treating our patients the way they have treated me. Most of the ladies are rude and unwelcoming. Not just with me, I've witnessed it with other patients while in the waiting room and heard other patients complaining as well. I'm sorry to have to write a bad review because honestly I will continue to come here because Dr Guerena is a great doctor but it's unfortunate his staff is not. read more

I called because I had pain during urination. The receptionist on the phone basically chewed me out because I called late in the day near closing time. She said I should have called earlier because now she has to scramble around and see who is on call. I didn't call earlier because I wanted to see if the pain would stop. She was VERY rude and has no business answering phones if she is going to complain that helping people is so much out of her damn day. She makes the office look bad. Dr. Frasier has had fine training at great universities. BUT...out of 6 appointments, five were changed a day or two before. The final straw for me was an appointment made 2 months in advance. When I got into the exam room I was told we're just getting a urine check today and we'll reschedule what was planned. My general doctor recommended that I go see Dr. Frasier because I was told he was very good at what he does. I went online and did some research and I was a little skeptical at first by some of the reviews I read, but I still made an appointment with Dr. Frasier. Dr. Frasier and his staff are true professionals and they have the utmost compassion for their patients. Dr. Frasier took the time to explain all the details of my situation and he used terminology that I could understand. I asked a lot of questions and he answered them. I didn't feel rushed at all. PLEASE READ ALL THE WAY THROUGH. IT COULD SAVE YOU SOME TIME AND STRESS. This review doesn't reflect Dr. Frasier or the staff in the back that helped and is still helping my dad with his condition. The front office on the other hand needs to be reevaluated in a major way. I'm not sure if it's all of them, a few bad apples or bad training, but for all the good this office has unfortunately it doesn't outweigh the bad. In the last couple months with dealing with North Coast Urology we've had schedule changes, messages from Doctor Frasier not getting passed on to my father (the second time I let it slide), not being able to contact the office from the time they open and throughout the day at various times. My father and I have left messages with no call backs. Medications were switched without him knowing. One time the only reason we knew was because we went to pick up some of his medications at Wal Mart and they informed us that they had to cancel a prescription or do something with it because we hadn't picked it up. It was because we were never informed of it. The reason I'm writing this review is because two hours ago we got a call from the hospital about what he needed to bring tomorrow. We had no clue he had an appointment tomorrow. Last we heard, he had an appointment this Friday at the doctors office. My father is 79 years old and should not be constantly stressed out because of his dealings with the office. We both can't wait for our contact with them to be over with. If we could afford it, we'd rather pay out of network if there's another doctors office with better office training. read more

I don't understand the negative reviews. My husband has been seeing Dr. Bradley Frasier at North Coast Urology for four months, since July 2015. Dr. Frasier diagnosed my husband's prostate cancer and performed a radical prostatectomy on him at Tri-City using the DaVinci robotic procedure. Throughout this entire scary journey, Dr. Frasier has been incredibly professional, courteous, thorough, friendly, competent, compassionate, and available - to both of us! He knows his stuff - he has kept us informed through every step, he has explained EVERYTHING in great detail regarding our options, and he has answered all our questions and concerns with honesty, care, and compassion. He has a sense of humor too! I might also add that Dr. Frasier's medical support staff and office staff are the best we've come across in quite some time. They are all exceptionally professional and friendly and dedicated. Normally I don't review doctors because I find most of them just go through the motions, but Dr. Frasier and his staff are exceptional - they definitely go above and beyond to ensure your comfort and peace of mind. I would give them more than 5 stars if I could. read more
