Replaced our rotting 2nd floor wood balcony w fire resistant composite and metal railings. Project took 4 days start to finish. Day 1 was teardown. Day 2 was to replace the support structure. Day 3 was the rafters and balcony floor. Day 4 was the remainder of the balcony and railings. Workers showed up at 8:30 and worked until about 3. Every day they stowed tools and equipment and swept so the work site was always tidy. Finished balcony was painted w matching paint and looks perfect. This was our second go around with NCD&P. Back in Mar. of 2021 they came out and repaired and replaced the top and railing of our deck. It came out beautiful. Recently we noticed that the TREX decking was not holding its color and looked faded. We contacted George and he came out and said this is a warranty issue. He helped us work with TREX to resolve the warranty issue and then replaced the decking which was all covered by TREX. Adam and Juan were our team and these guys are the best. From A-Z, we had a magnificent experience with NC Deck and Patio. I met with George when we noticed some serious "dry rot" on the support beams, joists, and railing structure of our 25 year old balcony. He came out, assessed the damage, went through options, and gave us a competitive bid. We waited a few months, and then called to schedule our project. Communication with George and (mostly, post-estimate) Kira in the office, was ALWAYS concise, professional, friendly, and TIMELY. Once the project was scheduled, we met with Tom (also very knowledgable and friendly), who went over the "fine points" of the project. The demolition and construction began as promised on a Monday. Count us among the many homeowners converting from wood to aluminum patio structures whose experiences with North County Deck & Patio were very positive. NCDP was recommended to us by a painting contractor who had worked for us. NCDP's owner and CEO George Hesse came to our house, was friendly and professional and explained the product and process. The project foreman and workmen were likewise courteous and professional. They dismantled our old patio and installed a beautiful new patio cover in three days' time. We had vines and plants that clung to our previous structure. The workers carefully preserved them, and the lead worker Chris reattached the plants to our new structure in a more effective and aesthetically pleasing way than I had done. We love our new patios that were just installed by North County Deck & Patio. These replaced redwood decking that we have enjoyed for the past 40 years. We are especially appreciative of all the help provided by everyone at North County Deck who participated in our project! From my first discussions with George the owner who provided excellent guidance on design and materials decisions, to the project leadership from Tom who took careful measurements and thought through so many of the challenges that projects like this entail. But I especially want to acknowledge the team that made all the day to day project decisions and detail work so well done by Adam and excellent workmanship by Juan. One of our goals for our new patios was to make them safer from wild fires, so we chose TimberTech AZEK decking that is Class A rated for fire safety. They have a way of fastening the decking where you don't even see the fasteners at all which makes for a very clean look. We were also seeking to have the upper patio shaded and the rain water channeled away. So NCDP recommended an Elitewood aluminum patio cover. The day after the cover was completed it rained, and only the edges of the patio even got wet. Our new patios just extended our home by about 500 square feet! read more

We had our second story balcony completely redone by NC Deck & Patio. They gave us the best quote of the other two companies. There was dry rot on the deck that needed replacement, but we decided to replace the whole thing. The columns were wood and stucco and we wanted to keep them, but after demolishing the deck the columns looked good on the outside but were rotten inside thus they had to be replaced. We were very happy with the job they did and made the balcony look much more modern than it did before. Their design that we settled on made for much easier maintenance than the old balcony. One thing that impressed us was that they kept us updated on the schedule so we were never surprised as to when they were and were not going to be there to work on it. There were some delays, but it was never a problem. If we had questions, we could always reach out to Kira and we would get an answer promptly. The workers were pleasant and friendly, always working steadly throughout the process. The only issue I had was that they had left a few paint drops on the concrete after painting that I had to clean up. Other than that we were very happy with their work and highly recommend them. This is one of those rare moments when Yelp reviews did not help. We contacted this company due to their Yelp reviews and they showed up, assessed the project and then never called back. We had to call them a few times to get them to respond and he finally told us it was too big of a project?? I am not a contractor, but the last thing I would think is that a project is too big, especially when it is a simple deck refurbish. They did a great job re-doing our deck (that was poorly constructed by a previous owner, and we needed a ton of work). George was incredibly helpful, and he spent a lot of time with us just to understand some of the challenges, provide some considerations / options for what we might want to do, and give us a quote. A couple of other local providers gave quick estimates in an attempt to start working and "figure it out", but we did not feel nearly as comfortable with what some of these other providers might actually do. George, the owner, came out to my home about one year ago. He took measurements, showed me product samples, and left some brochures of quality, durable and low maintenance products for decking and rail system. I contacted him about a year later on August 31, 2022, when I had my funds. He came by and we discussed the project and design in detail. I signed the contract mid-September. I wanted two pergolas, stairs and rail replacement, and new carport to be built. With delays from the holidays, driveway installation, and the rainstorms, the project was finally finished 1/17/23.
