DO NOT USE AMERICAN MEDICAL MOBILITY We had a chair lift…read moreinstalled in our house for over $12, 500. It broke the first week. A problem with contact points they said. It then broke again in 3 weeks. Nobody can seem to fix it at their company. Once again today another tech showed up and said the company did not have a 90 degree power wrench to fix it. We asked if his boss could rent one. They refused. We have to wait for another three days when they will send a fourth tech to try and fix it. Cecil, who is a veteran on 100% disability, is 78 and has fallen down the steps over four times while waiting for a repair. He has injured himself multiple times and has left blood streaks on the walls all the way down the stairs. We showed the techs his injuries and asked that they rent the tool. The boss refused. I am deathly afraid that his next fall will be his last. I am 5'4", undergoing chemo for cancer and cannot assist 6'2" Cecil up the stairs to bed or the bathroom. Despite our pleading they will not rent the tool. To make matters worse we have been told they will not rent the tool for Monday either. Instead they will try a fourth time, and according to the last tech, spend at least a whole day trying to fix it without the tool. Is it too much to expect an electric chair lift costing over $12,500 to work or to at least get reasonable service? I have buried one husband and I am afraid I will be burying Cecil too because they refused to pay a rental fee for a tool. Estimated rental cost $35-$60 dollars. How many falls must Cecil have before they fix the chair? They will pay the next tech to come and spend all day (and maybe still not fix the chair) more than a tool rental, which the tech told us would make the job quick and easy. How are they making money that way? If we could get them to give us the money back, (VA paid for it) we could get another company install one faster than they're fixing this one. This is putting Cecil's life at risk and is unacceptable. He has a pacemaker, defibrillator combination implanted in his chest, diabetes and cannot feel his feet, knees that need replacing but they cannot do with covid, neuropathy and he is immunocompromised having had cancer last year. They know this along with his injuries from the falls yet will not fix the chair. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY.
