I came here for grandparents day and was impressed with everything! The students were all happy and really like their teachers and the teachers and students engage very well. This is the best school so far, our son attended this place pre-COVID, our son loved and enjoyed immediately after he started, it was amazing to see after my son cried for a year and half at the previous school. It was worth waiting for them to be available for my son. Teachers were very supportive, gave us suggestions and helped our sons development. The office staff knew our cars so they called our son as soon as I turn into the driveway and he was ready to come out when we park the car, we didn't wait to pick up our son. We enjoyed attending every events like the open school, grandparents day, and Christmas, not only to see my son but others growth. What we liked was their menu too, they had fish day. They care what nutrients to give children too. We were sad to leave this school. read more

Being a previous teacher that worked here and also having my daughter go to this school I would like to start by saying from first glance this school looks awesome, but once getting situated I soon found out this was not the place to be or for my child to be. My child's teacher Ms. Alice was awesome! But the school itself is just trash. We all know COVID is going on right now and everyone is hurting for money, but it's not ok that they don't give the children enough to eat because they're cutting out on spending money. It's also not ok that they keep the building at about 85 degrees and when the children have to play inside they turn beat red because it's so hot in the building. Also, don't buy into their BS about the teachers being certified, the front office will literally tell you whatever you want to hear. The classroom ratios are huge, if the teacher can have up to 18 kids in that class, then they'll put that amount in there, regardless of what the CDC recommends about COVID. They lied to a parent who had an ASD child and told them the teacher was certified and had the experience to deal with that child, those were LIES! They also do valet pick up so that the parents can't see what's going on in the classrooms, they do tours around lunch time or closing time so that the parents don't see what's really going on. The teachers there are awesome, but the staff in the front are liars. Oh, and the owner is all about her money, so of course she'll have a person who works in the front that can sway parents into thinking that their child is getting the best education compared to other pre-schools. No, it's the teachers that should get the credit where it's due because they put up with ALL the BS. The school is old, the carpets are disgusting but the owner won't change them out because of the money, and the curriculum is SO very outdated and the teachers aren't even supplied with what the curriculum calls for because it's either been lost, or the owner won't go buy the supplies because she's worried about money. If you're a parent that's looking for a preschool where you're child will be receiving an awesome education, I would look more toward Primrose, Blue Ivey would be compared to a DAYCARE. If you're a parent looking for a place to drop your children off to play so you can go to work, well then, this is the place for you :) read more

We love our school!! This place is clean, inviting, immaculate, and absolutely wonderful! I was a school teacher and knew what I was looking for....we toured around 12 schools until we finally found Blue Ivey and I can't believe we wasted so much time!!! I instantly fell in love with the atmosphere and the staff. The programs that they have are so engaging and beneficial. My son is beyond excited to go every single day and wishes we could go on Saturday! I can't say enough wonderful things about our school. Our family loves this school!! Our son has been at Blue Ivey since he was about 20 months old. He just completed Kindergarten. We are so sad Blue Ivey doesn't have classes beyond Kindergarten, but we are grateful for the after school program. This is his first year to attend the summer camp and he is having so much!! This school is wonderful!! As a parent, you want your child to be safe and have a great time learning. This is the place for that! read more

I walked in for a scheduled tour and the lady at the front desk did not even acknowledge me. There were children coming out of classrooms/areas of the school to the front just roaming around. The doors remain unlocked during the day and I asked if they lock the doors to protect the children from just anyone being able to walk in. The co-director informed me that there was nothing to worry about and there were cameras all over the building and they know children's parents by name and their cars. I found it odd that you are unable to live-feed into the school/classroom your child is in to see what is going on. I just did not get a good feeling about leaving my child in their care. read more

To say that I'm disappointed with this school, is an understatement. My son attended this school for several years but in the last year they have gone though some personnel change and it's not for the better. I tried talking with the staff about his learning and behavior disabilities that he was being tested for and I believe that because they were not equipped with the right personnel staff or they just didn't want to deal with him is the reason he got kicked out. It's sad when you have a staff member reading out loud for all to hear, incidents reports as the child lowers his head in shame, like a bully, when the parent can clearly read. read more

I have had my son at this school since he was able to attend. The staff is great, they will help you and you child the best they can. The time the staff took to help my son become potty trained was helpful. When my son started preschool classes, he became more equipped than a lot of children did going into kindergarten. read more

How can this place have so few reviews? I cannot say enough positive things about Blue Ivey. Miss Logan and her dedicated staff run one of the cleanest, best organized day cares I've ever seen. They serve an excellent nutritious menu, have a great curriculum for mental and physical development and I KNOW my son is getting top quality care. We were with another daycare before joining Blue Ivey and originally thought we would go back once our son reached a certain age. But!!! We were so satisfied with their services and my son seemed so happy there we were torn up about leaving. So we didn't. We are so glad we decided to stay at Blue Ivey! Outside of originally committing to go back to the other place, we couldn't think of one reason to leave. Not one. If you are looking for truly excellent day care that you can really trust - and happens to be affordable (Primrose said they charge What?!?) look no further than Blue Ivey. You owe it to yourself to check it out. I almost don't want to post this review because I don't want my expecting friends to experience a waiting list - but this is the best place ever. Period. This place is AMAZING! My children haven't attended since 2015. However, I am just now posting because I am in search for a current school for my son as we are now in Forney. And NOTHING compares to Blue Ivey, its challenging placing your children in the care of others when we have experienced such an awesome place. Blue Ivey is truly as good as it gets. I have never felt more comfortable to leave my child with people other than my family than with the care of Ms. Patricia. My daughter loved all her teachers as well as the asst director Ms. Logan. All are very sweet, kind and they care for the kids. I was so impressed, which was making it even more hard to leave. We relocated and it's a 45 minute drive for us now and that is not a possibility to keep her here. The current daycare my daughter is now is total opposite. Blue Ivey School is by far an A+ school. Enrollment starts at 18 mos and goes to 12 yrs I believe. They have the best and sweetest teachers any parent could ask for. The prices are a little high (in fact, they're higher than everyone but Prim Rose) but it is WELL worth it! At 18 mos, children learn basic sign language (please, thank you, dog, cat, yes, no, etc) to help them communicate. This really helps when a child doesn't have good language skills, most of the time using sign language helps avoid temper tantrums because the lack of communication is wiped out. They are also potty trained and taught the alphabet, shapes, colors, and to use their words. At 2, sign language is still being taught, but using their words is expected. Basic table manners are taught at the lunch table and curriculum is very hands on as well as entertaining and informational. At 3 yrs. children are taught to recognize, spell, and write their name. They learn what sounds go with which letters, the beginnings to math, science and reading. At 4yrs, they are learning new curriculum and drawing their interpretation of the mornings lesson as well as writing it out. The children sound out each letter and write how they believe it sounds. It may not always be right, but it teaches them to reiterate alphabetic sounds and enforce it as well. All the while, still learning science, reading, and math. At 5 yrs, Blue Ivey offers private Kindergarten as well as having after school childcare. Spelling, writing, and reading, will be no problem to your child after a year in Kindergarten at Blue Ivey School! Music class, physical education, swimming lessons, dance classes and computer classes are also offered in addition to the wonderful education your child will receive at Blue Ivey School! From my experience, there's not a better school out there that truly cares about your child and the learning potential he/she may have. read more
