I am writing this review regarding my experience with Chapingo Tree Care Service (CTCS), located at…read more3558 Worthhington Blvd., Frederick, MD 21704. My Homeowners Association hired CTCS to remove a massive mature tree located behind my property. While the tree was safely cut down, the work was left incomplete. The large tree stump was not ground down, and large logs, limbs, and debris were left approximately six feet from my patio door, creating an unsightly appearance in my backyard. What concerns me most is that the logs and debris from the same tree that were behind my neighbor's property were moved farther back into the wooded area, while the debris behind my property was left in place. When I questioned the tree care manager and owner about this inconsistency, I was told that an HOA Board member instructed them to leave the debris where it was. Although I understand that contractors often follow their client's instructions, I believe a professional company should also take pride in completing a job fairly and consistently whenever possible. Leaving one homeowner with an unfinished result while providing a cleaner outcome for another reflects poorly on the quality and fairness of the service. As a homeowner, I pay HOA fees with the expectation that contracted work will be completed to an acceptable standard. In my opinion, CTCS completed only part of the project and accepted an outcome that left my property looking unfinished. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company. While they may perform quality work when directed to do so, my experience suggests they will leave a job incomplete if instructed by a client, even when the result is inconsistent and unfair to the affected homeowner.

They did a fantastic job, were easy to work with, professional, and clearly care about the work they are doing. I chose them because after getting an estimate from Jorge Alvarez, I could tell he would be very communicative and really cares about getting things right. He was very honest with me and we worked out a great deal. They were professional, task oriented, on time and worked to make sure the job was completed on schedule! They were very efficient, and took the time to carefully evaluate how to trim safely with minimal disturbance to existing vegetation. They worked continuously removing the limbs and immediately shredding them, as well as cleaned up completely when they were refinished. Their work ethic and attention to detail were impressive. In this day and age, integrity and transparency mean everything. What I was promised was completely delivered and more. It is evident that Jorge and their entire team have pride in their work and put customer focus and satisfaction as their priority in everything they do. The final result is a beautiful, huge improvement on what it was before. I definitely got my money's worth and they exceeded my expectations. All at a very reasonable price. The lot is sloped and there are several stone retaining walls and stairs to navigate. It isn't an easy property to work with. Demolition had to be done by hand. They did a great job. The crew showed up everyday at 7:30am. The site was organized and anytime I needed to get out of my driveway, they always accommodated me. Coordination with our lighting and irrigation contractor was seamless. When I decided I didn't like the brick edging on the new flagstone path, the price to re-do it in flagstone was more than fair. We are really glad our landscape designer, Greenhart Designs recommended them.

So happy with their work I'm going to give them one of my full on reviews. Estimates & Cost The damage was both near our house and further out on our property. Jeff quickly came out and surveyed everything and then did a bit of tree triage (treeage if you will, ha!!!) in determining what needed immediate attention and scheduling everything else. As for the cost of all of the work done it was beyond reasonable. Given the size of the trees and the timing I thought it would have been much more. Especially given the estimates we get from the randos who randomly ring our doorbell. Nope not falling for them, sticking with Services Unlimited from now on! Timing - aka Holiday Weekend All of this occurred right before Memorial Day weekend. Somehow all of my emergencies seem to happen on the eve of holiday weekends so I'm well versed in the various runarounds. Not here! Mother Nature struck and they were working and attentive as if it was a typical weekend. That alone is four stars in my book. They came out on Sunday morning over Memorial Day to take care of our higher priority damage. I was worried other parts of the tree could fall on the house as the wind was bad over the weekend. Their quick and professional work was greatly appreciated and gave me some peace of mind. Honestly, this stuff is scary. Triage - aka Treeage (sorry couldn't help it again) They were obviously super busy given that two tornadoes hit our area within a week. Thus they did all of our work in three separate segments over the course of about a week and a half. They had to deal with more pressing tree on house situations in the area yet they still managed to fit us in when they could. To anyone that has experienced the wrath of a large downed tree timing is critical especially when it comes to protecting healthy trees in close proximity. Employees Their employees are fantastic and have their system down to a science. On their second visit they dealt with a huge problematic tree that was just waiting to fall on our house. Watching how they did what they did made me anxious but it was also mind blowing. Starting to get carried away here but really they're all a great team I can't stress that enough. Overall If you've made it this far, how on earth have I written this much about tree removal? A bit out of my realm but I felt the need to share because they're just that good. My neighbors used one of the doorbell ringers on their tree and the comparison is laughable. It took them five hours to do less than what took these guys 50 minutes at my house in a much more professional manner. Please, please, please consult them for an estimate.
