The worst tree company in the DMV!!! I hired this company to trim my beautiful hollies trees. They butchered my trees stripped of all branches six feet up from the base front and back. A 30-year old pine tree in the back of our house fell during the snow storm of February 22 while we were away. When I returned to Maryland in early March, I reached out for an estimate to remove the uprooted tree stump. Of the companies that I reached out, J&B Tree Service LLC worked with me to give me a reasonable estimate. Giovanni from the office did his due diligence to reach out to Miss Utility to ensure there is no utility lines nearby. Operation Manager (Jose Garcia) and his team was here on March 11 to grind down the tree stump, they did a great job and clean the area well. Absolutely pleased, beyond words. We were almost delayed a few days, but they STILL delivered on the day they said they would in spite of a drive chain break in their wood chipper! We had called on a Thursday and they came out on Friday for a free estimate. A quick quote and they told us they'd be there the next day on Saturday, we were scheduled for between 10-11am. We stayed in texting communication during the day on Saturday and our time shifted to 1:00pm, then around 3:45pm. We decided to go out and run some errands and as we returned they were at our home! It was quick and they did a fantastic job. Cleaned everything up, wood chipped everything they cut. Very happy. I received a verbal estimate but never got anything in writing. It would have been fine, except everything we agreed upon was challenged by the guys that came to do the work. Very disappointing. Also, they came to grind two stumps and took care of one, but they told me they didn't do the other stump entirely because of the rose bush beside it. Of course, they tell me AFTER they packed up the huge machinery, which was a hassle to get into my backyard in the first place. I took a look at it and now I still have to deal with the darn stump-growing shoots. I was back there while they were grinding it... why couldn't they have told me?... I could not be happier with my experience hiring J&B tree service! I originally had them come out for a quote right at the beginning of COVID to remove two large pines and a large oak from my yard which had been neglected by the previous owner and had died, as well as cleaning up the other trees on my property. I had 6 or 7 companies come out for quotes, and when Julio from j&b came out, he not only gave me the best price but some great advice and observations on the rest of my trees. Unfortunately I, like many others, was furloughed from work due to COVID so we ended up putting off the work until a later time. I had j&b come back out in June for a new quote as it had been over a year, and they were able to honor the original quote they gave me which was incredibly kind. They came out on July 15 and completed the work and it looks PHENOMENAL. They removed the three dead trees with precision and care. The low hanging branches on the other trees were pruned beautifully, and there are no longer any overhanging above the roof. We even had a large pile of branches that had fallen from the trees recently and they took them all and put them through the wood chipper, which I had not expected and was planning on hiring a hauling company to come get the branches. TLDR: they did amazing work incredibly quickly and for a fantastic price. They left the property clean, no trash or anything left behind. My neighbor had a gigantic walnut tree hanging over my yard, carport and cable wires. Not only was it very dangerous but it was a nuisance dealing with the walnuts falling in my yard during the fall season each year. I had a great experience with J & B. I was nervous about the utility wires and my carport being damaged during the process as there was no room for error. They alleviated my concerns by handling the situation like experienced professionals. Their crew arrived on time and were able to trim back the tree in what seemed like no time. They gave me the cheapest estimate in the area for taking down three trees on my property, but they ended up breaking my gate with their work. I can't open it more than a foot now. I've called them five times in the last month to get it fixed. I left two voicemails and finally got a hold of them. They said they'd take care of it but never did. I've worked with many tree service companies over the years and thought I knew where to go when a large tree in our yard got sick and needed to be removed. Still, I wanted to get several bids and posted the requirement on our local list serve. J&B responded. They were prompt, professional, had full credentials, and gave us a bid that was well below my preferred company and others, so we selected them. The tree was big (4' diameter) and required five man team plus a crane to remove. The team arrived promptly at 8:30, worked together like a Marine drill team, and finished the job by mid-afternoon. We unfortunately had to have two very large oak trees removed from our yard, and had such a great experience with J & B Tree Services. We requested a quote online and received a phone call within a few minutes to set up a time for an estimate the next day. Julio was on time, friendly, and sent us a thorough quote with a few options the same evening. It was the lowest quote we received for the work by about 10%. The online system they use for approving a proposal and scheduling your service is great. The crew arrived right on time, stayed hard at work throughout the day, and cleaned up the site beautifully with no damage to our yard, driveway, or even a garden bed immediately surrounding one of the trees. These guys were great! Timely response with estimate, fair price, and then GREAT on the day. They took down 2 large and 2 smaller trees, put them through the chipper, cleaned up all evidence that they had been there, and then were gone, all within 2 hours! As luck would have it, a spring fledgling bird who couldn't fully fly yet had settled in one of the to-be-removed trees in my backyard overnight. I literally just had J&B Tree service complete a job at my home in Rockville less than an hour ago. I have 5 very tall, very mature oak trees. We needed to cut them back away from the house. My wife also identified work needed on our Dogwood tree that wasn't in the original estimate. They did an exceptional job of everything and not only cleaned up the tree debris that they cut but the millions of acorns that had fallen everywhere! They moved all of the patio furniture; including two planters that weigh several hundreds of pounds each, did the extensive tree cutting and cleaned up every square inch of things and put the furniture and planters exactly back where they were! They took care of every detail! We had 3 estimates from different companies and they gave us the best price and the work is exceptional. These guys were very professional, safe, fast and reasonably priced. We met them via Yelp, when they sought our business services to make keys for one of their trucks. We had 3 huge oak trees in our yard that I really wanted gone before they became a problem, overhanging my house and my neighbor's too. They showed up on time and got rid of the trees in record time. They had good equipment and the owner/foreman took each large branch down safely with his team securing it all with ropes. They worked so quickly that by the time I thought to photograph them, the two largest trees were gone, and only a part of the one that could impact our homes, remained. They cleaned up as they went, feeding branches into the huge wood chipper they brought. They had very good equipment for the job.They came back to do complete stump removal. I had a number of estimates to remove a large (~100') oak about five feet from the corner of our house that started dying from the top down, a small cherry tree in the front that was planted poorly and had severely girdled roots and a large branch from another oak overhanging one of our sheds. What struck me was that Jose, the guy who came out to give the estimate, was also the guy who was going to climb and cut the trees. His price was very competitive so I gave them the job. They showed up with just three people - Jose and two others. They laid down sheets of plywood on the lawn, got to work, and were done in 4 hours - that's got to be a record. I've had other tree services mess with smaller trees for days. Watching Jose work in particular made it immediately clear that he falls in the category of, "extreme professional." Nothing touched the house. He roped the huge branches so quickly and efficiently that they just swung harmlessly away from the house, and moved on to the next one. Not only were all three trees taken down without incident, but when grinding the stump of the big oak, they covered the windows with plywood to protect them. When they left, everything was cleaned up to the point of being far cleaner than expected.
