Informed them ahead of the appointment that this was my initial visit and I was going to need the X-rays, assessment, and cleaning. The answer was yes. I received the same answer upon arrival. I had X-rays, no assessment, unless you count touching once with the tip of the instrument the top of the lower molars as a mouth assessment, and no cleaning at all. This so called dentist that is working in place of Dr. Jacobs used the short time we were together to sell a deep cleaning and got me out of the chair so fast, that despite the low opinion I had already formed, he was able to surprise me. He refused to perform the cleaning I was there for, he bragged he was the one with decision power, and laughed literally when I said that I should be the one deciding if I want a service performed. I have no idea why Delta Dental keeps this office in its list. This office is a joke. Dr. Jacobs may be the owner, but he is not running the show.

My doctor was Dr. Edgar Lopez. This was less of an extraction and more like a pit stop at the Daytona 500. I have had teeth pulled before, but Dr. Lopez worked as though he were being timed for a world record. He used three different instruments as he torqued, twisted, harassed, brow-beat, and finally yanked the tooth from my jaw. Following the extraction, there was no aftercare whatsoever by Dr. Lopez. Nothing. It turned out that, following this extraction, there was a gash in my mouth that exposed my jawbone. But I didn't find this out until approximately three weeks later when I went to a dentist in Peru. There, they found the injury. Though I had returned to his office three times post-extraction because of persistent pain, Dr. Lopez never did find the injury. Either Dr. Lopez did not realize he'd injured me, or he realized it and covered it up. Not sure which is worse. It took three months for the gash to heal; the pain lasted three weeks. I came to calling Dr. Lopez, "The Butcher of Biscayne." If you go to this place and get Dr. Lopez, just make sure to tell him to take his time. Oh, and don't expect there to be coffee in the waiting room on the table beneath the sign that says, "coffee." I think this is just another way to torment clients. That, and they inconveniently keep the bathroom locked at all times. (Maybe the coffee supplies are hidden in the bathroom?)

RUN. Don't look back. I could explain everything from these now 2 very painful expensive crowns…read morethat are incorrectly placed in my mouth that I STILL have to get redone, to the constant sales harassment every single time I walked into that office of "oh you should just get Invisalign already!" Which was just a constant reminder that #1, I couldn't afford it, #2 Them trying to squeeze every cent out of me they could and #3 My insecurity of my crooked teeth. Please go somewhere else. I have many more stories and you don't have to time to read them. Just look for a different dentist. Comfort Dentists in Plantation has been an AMAZING replacement for me. The office was very clean, nice big windows so you don't feel trapped (I get claustrophobic so a big plus), and you can feel confident they're work is done right. Izzy was AMAZING, I was extremely nervous but she was so kind and kept me so calm. She kept me informed as to what sensations I would feel as the doctor was performing the root canal. This helped me keep calm and breeze through the procedure.

I was very impressed that they called to follow up and check on me the next day and offered their cell phone numbers to call over the weekend if I needed anything. They truly care about their patients. One more note... I found the office to be clean and comfortable and the chairs had extra padding and were very nice. She was able to quickly repair it and took the time to go over the veneers option with me. I couldn't be happier I decided to go with her. Do I get any say in the matter? When he came back after speaking with my dentist, he would not explain or justify his recommending a retreat, gave only brief non-informative answers to my questions, and after 5 minutes asked, "So, when do you want to have it done?" Although he does have high end equipment (microscope, laser,) and appears to be very competent and experienced, pricing of $2250 for the procedure was outrageous! By contrast another endodontist I saw a few weeks later spent over an hour with me, took X-rays and a CT scan, explained to me exactly why he was recommending what he was, told me of the prognosis, answered all of my questions thoroughly, and I left with a full understanding of my options . . . I've seen countless dentists and dental specialists in recent years, and that's what I expect from a doctor....

Their fingers go in the mouth of several patients 9-5 spreading disease. You walk out of this clinic sicker than you came in. In for cleaning, out with pneumonia? Waiting area is never disinfected. At opening hour i got in first and saw this employee walk on the parking picking up trash, then back inside took a folder from a prospective job applicant and never washed her hands. Food stains on seats are not removed. Door handles, counters, exam chairs, and cabinets are never sanitized with proper product (alcohol). While I am writing this I am still in pain, dizzy and unable to walk or do ordinary activities. Because of headaches, I have to sit or lay down; such is the severity of this disease I picked up on Friday at this clinic. I am unable to drive because of gagging and dizziness and aching eyes. Two days I had to remain in bed with fever that made my body shiver. Yelp! must warn south-Florida about the cost-cutting practices at this establishment.
