I mainly used the fitness room which has weights, exercise bikes, and treadmills. The fitness room is always organized and clean. There are plenty of treadmills but sometimes there's a wait for the bikes because there are only two. However, that doesn't happen very often. It's a great place to go if you don't want to spend a fortune on a gym membership. The center also offers things like yoga, martial arts, dance, senior, and after school programs. There's great little cafe and an epic play area for kids called Fort Natomas.

Unfortunately you could see that the hot Sacramento sun was starting to take a bit of a toll on the beautiful buds, but nature is as nature does. It's a small but very cute, open area with several benches. It surrounded by cement which makes it perfect for weddings and other events. Gorgeous way to spend a part of your day.

Rose beds are arranged in a circular formation while climbing roses are grown on 10-ft tall trellises (the Grand Trellis here makes a good photo backdrop). I visited in late April. Most of the garden was still dormant but there were a few spots that couldn't wait to bloom with a bang (the roses that I saw were huge!). Was nice to see that even at this time the entire garden was well-kept (tidy walkways, absence of weeds in the rose beds, etc.). Free to visit. Plentiful parking. Definitely recommend taking a peek especially during peak blooming season!

However, the clubhouse itself, run by the City of Sacramento, is fine and safe, and the Park and Rec Dept runs activities at the clubhouse which are generally quite educational, safe, and wholesome. The clubhouse itself has several rooms inside for groups of kids to play games, read, watch movies, and do other fun group activities in as part of different events or summer camps. They also have some events for teens here, which is nice, as teens need healthy and positive activities to participate in so as not to get into trouble and not become involved with illegal activities and groups. Overall, this is a good place for children, family, and teens alike.

And who put library short-term parking where I could walk from? Probably the able-bodied employees are grabbing the absurdly limited spots. This damned town needs a lot more compassion, but it seems nobody gives a fig! I will not plead for a handicap rating! I am over 80 and a veteran. I used to love the knitting group. . . .

In a time of depleted resources and shrinking budgets, you'd think a Police & Community Resource…read moreCenter would be a dead zone. But not in Natomas! Here, the center is thriving and entirely run by volunteers and Managed by Molly Fling (community leader and NCA Board Member). This place opened back in 2009 with the support of then Creekside President (and now Vice Mayor) Angelique Ashby. All of the equipment/furniture resources have been donated (which is simply amazing because they've got a refrigerator, toaster oven, microwave and more). Many hands make for light work and the Resource Center embodies that. The primary functions of the Resource Center are to support the Sacramento Police Department and its officers as well as the entire Natomas Community. Like I said, this place is completely run by volunteers and provide services such as fix-it tickets, filing online police reports, code enforcement issues (or you can call 3-1-1!!!!), crime/safety tips (in the form of countless handouts/pamphlets) city resources and so much more; I can't even touch on everything this place does because they do so much! If you need to know the hours the center is open, I suggest calling because they change often (for obvious reasons such as schedules change, new volunteers in and out, etc.) Molly runs the place and is such a great individual and resource. If she is there when you drop in, say hello and hear her story. She's always willing to lend a helping hand or point someone in the right direction.

It includes 2 large large dining tables that each seat 10 and has additional folding tables - this last time they were two 8' tables (previously had 10' tables) and nice black chairs for each. There is outdoor furniture for good weather days and opens up to community park on the opposite side of the entrance for kids to stretch their legs. Parking is just street parking so not abundant but sufficient.

I was so surprised to see a Chihuly glass installation! The facilities however need some work. They don't have environmentally friendly toilets (the dual flush ones for #1 or #2) and no water bottle filling stations. I was trying to use the drinking fountain to refill my bottle. They should invest in some of these. I was also frustrated at the lack of power outlets in the conference rooms and common areas. People we huddle around two or three outlets which is challenging for hearings that can go 8 hours or more. Yes the building is pretty, but it's out dated and needed some TLC. Overall it was a fine experience and centrally located in downtown Sacramento.

Well, doesn't exactly apply to me in this case here at the library, but we've tried coming here before and somehow it was always closed. Usually, it's because we forgot that it's a Monday or we were nearby on a minor holiday and forgot that the library is closed even for holidays where most people are working. In any case, this is one of the bigger and newer libraries in the Sac Public Library System and I finally made it to check it out. Pros: - big building. Inderkum High School is right next door, so it's probably place here to especially serve the students. - clean and well-maintained. I like the bright open environment. - lots of books, rows upon rows of book shelves filled. - kids area is sectioned off, safer for kids, maybe quieter for everyone else. - clean bathrooms, we felt they were safe enough for our kids to go by themselves. - big friends of the library bookstore that's actually its own space/room. Lots of nice used and even some new or like new books for very reasonable prices. Get one for yourself/your kids or as a gift. - tons of seating for reading. Comfy couches seats as well as serious study desks and chairs. - a couple of reservable (online) study (group, or self)/meeting rooms. Cons: - can get loud if nearby high school students come after school - can get loud in kids area during high traffic "toddler time" - not open, Monday or Sundays, to be expected though, across all of SPL All in all... Nice and quite new and worth a visit!

These activities tend to draw a crowd, so it's best to arrive early if you plan to attend. On a typical day, the children's area is more contained and separated from the rest of the library, which helps minimize distractions. There is plenty of seating throughout the building, making it a great place to relax, study, or work, whether you're visiting with kids or on your own. They also have numerous tables and public computers available for use. You'll need a library card to check out materials, but signing up is free and can be done at the front desk. They also have games available for checkout. If you're looking for something specific, it's worth checking their website beforehand to see what's available. The library is clean, well-maintained, and the staff are friendly. One thing to note is that staff are not always nearby to address disruptive children, so keep that in mind. This wasn't our first visit, and it definitely won't be our last.
