We wound up chatting about booze and sports and various things. They turned me on to a new gin that I had never heard of. They even offered to special order some things for me. The store is well stocked, but if they don't have what you want they have the supply chain to get pretty much anything. Highly recommended. But after last night, I'll never shop here again. I went in to get a few cans of Lime a Rita because they sell the small ones individually. I went in and was greeted by the gentleman and lady behind the counter. I said hello back then walked to the cooler. I opened it and started looking to see what flavors they had. It was very cold outside so I was wearing gloves and a big coat. I took my gloves off and held them in my left hand and had my phone in my right hand. I put my phone in my pocket so I could have a free hand. I picked the cans I wanted and went up to the front. I sat my cans down on the counter and the gentleman asked for my ID but I had left my wallet in my car. I told him I was gonna run out and get it. I turned towards the door and the lady behind the counter shouted that I had put a lime a Rita in my pocket. I turned towards her and said excuse me? And she told me to give her the can I put in my pocket. I reached my hand in my pocket and pulled my phone out and her response was "oh." I went and got my wallet and paid for my purchase. She tried to apologize but I ignored her and walked out of the store. I believe this accusation was racially motivated. I'm a young black woman with dreadlocks. I have been profiled in this store once before. I went there on New Year's Eve and was customer serviced by and employee. When I told her I just wanted to browse, she smiled and walked away. Then when I chose the bottle of whiskey I wanted, I saw her running towards me out of the corner of my eye as I took it off the shelf. This is unacceptable treatment. I work in customer service so I understand that shoplifting is real. But that is not the way to go about deterring shoplifting. And to be outright accused of stealing when I didn't was humiliating, embarrassing, and ridiculous. There's no way anyone can tell me that this didn't happen to be because I'm black. It was blatant racism. Will not shop here anymore.

He is the friendliest, remembers our conversations and orders, and always has a smile and a good word and well wishes when we leave. Employees make the business and he is definitely the face of this one. We were in about 2 weeks ago and he was dealing with such a rude customer- loud on the phone, angry at him for not having a beer they wanted- and he was exercising such patience and trying to diffuse the anger with a little comedy. Appreciate amazing customer service and it is rare these days- He nails it every visit and THAT is why we keep coming back.

I've only had positive interactions with the employees. They know the contents of the store well and can quickly tell you if they don't have something. They offer a discount on wine one day of the week. I want to say it's 20% on Mondays but I'm not sure if that is the right day or amount. I've had issues in the past with prices on the shelf not matching what they ring up as, but it's always been a $5 or less difference, and I'm not going to hold up the line for that. I have never said anything and just moved on. This time, I picked up a bottle of bourbon that was listed at $40.99 on the shelf, and it rang up at $63.99. This time I said something. I was nice about it, and out of nowhere, this man says "well...can you read?" EXCUSE ME? Yes, I can read. We walk over, I show him the label, the bottle, and bottles next to it. I had Basil Hayden Toast, the sticker in front was a Basil Hayden BBN sticker for $40.99, next to that was the same sticker for $39.99 in front of the regular Basil Hayden, and then the 1.5L next to that. He starts to argue with me and tell me he's only been there for a week...I don't work there. That is not my problem. I didn't push for a price adjustment, I just grabbed the other bottle, and the employee would not let it go. He was one of the rudest people I have ever encountered. I absolutely engaged with his BS and matched the energy. I will not be spoken to that way. Even when I got to the cash register again, the bottle that said $39.99 rang up at $40.99! Just like other times in the past; off by a little bit, but nothing to hold up a long line for. I didn't have it in me to argue anymore. I just paid and left. The man that spoke to me the way he did needs to be fired. He has no business being in customer service. If there were other liquor stores open late, in the same area, I would take my business there. I will do my best to not frequent here anymore. I am truly disgusted with how I was treated when the business was clearly in the wrong. I work in the service industry, I'm not in the business of making a local business lose money, which is why I didn't push for the price adjustment, but have some humility and respect.
