Whenever I am on Forrest avenue I have to get a slice or even two slices from this place ! I love their pizza ! If I am not mistaken it's a family business & their customer service is excellent! I was walking through Forest Ave and decided to grab a slice. At first impression you'll be like "woah, what in the world is going on here?" Way too much stuff everywhere. It just doesn't feel good. You gotta have a little pride in your restaurant appearance. Never a big fan of places that keep their restaurant looking like someone's front yard sale. I said to myself alright, I'm here, might as well try their slice. My expectations were already low. Gentlemen came out from the back to take my order. Plain slice was $2.50, not too bad. Bread was crispy and pretty decent on the sauce, it was hit or miss. Some bites you had flavor, others you got slapped in the face with the garlic. Cheese was a little weird but it wasn't the worst I've had. Quick pizza fix, sure, but order from home and have it delivered. You'll know exactly what I'm talking about, if you ever walk in. Three stars for decent slice, friendly staff, and decent price. The owner is a wonderful man. The pizza is pretty good. It's worth driving to get. Best eaten hot. So we order as we drive there and we wait a few minutes. By the time we get back home, it's still hot and delicious. We pretty much go almost every Friday. read more

Never had a problem with this place. It is good for a no frills neighborhood pizza spot. Need a quick pie or just a couple of slices? It's a good spot for that. Garlic knots are really good (if you like them oily the way I do), and I've also had chicken parm hero. Very good. I think overall this neighborhood has a lot of great pizza spots! read more

This location is great for grab a slice or two and go. Good slice with good cheese and sauce plus you cannot beat the price! I personally know one of the owners of this location. He is a really nice guy and very accommodating. I also ordered sandwiches and salads from them, they are decent and makes my tummy happy. However if you are looking for mouth watery pizza or sandwiches, look else where. Do not compare this location to top of the line pizza place. You pay what you get. It is convenience for those who travel or on the go. In that street, there is only pizza spot. read more

I'm actually upset writing this review, and I'll explain why. Their pizza is really good, and you can't beat their $1 walk in and take out slices, however, I've had two of the worst delivery experiences in my life with this place. The first time I called and ordered, the pizza was ok, a little cold, but great. I was satisfied, and saved their menu for the future. The second time I ordered, I ordered with my card, and the delivery driver arrived at my house before realizing he forgot the credit card machine back at the restaurant. First of all, why not take the card over the phone and verify my identity in person like most restaurants? And second of all, he refused to leave my food with me while he went back to the restaurant. I asked him if my food would get cold with this back and forth driving (thinking he would have the decency to pop it back in the oven for a few minutes back at the restaurant), to which he replied, "No, I got the heat on in my car". Ok... I figured that we'd see how it all played out. Maybe that heat insulating pizza bag they pull the pizzas out of at your door generates an exorbitant amount of heat when the heat is on in the car, this creating a reheating effect. Who knows. I gave him the benefit of the doubt. He showed up half an hour later, and didn't have a pen for me to sign the credit card receipt, with a totally nonchalant attitude. Like, no sorry about that, or anything. Then, he didn't have a pen for me to sign the receipt. I didn't really care if I signed in crayon because I was pretty much ravenous at that point. Receipt signed, hot, delicious pizza and garlic knots in hand, I went inside and began to eat. Delicious, somewhat, hot? Not. The pizza was literally ice cold, like he left it on the hood and smoked a cigarette before he re-delivered it. I was devastated, but found it in my heart to order from them just one week later. The next week I ordered from them, the delivery driver remembers the credit card machine, forgot the pen once again, but also managed to forgot eight of the twelve garlic knots I ordered. Surprise, surprise. I realized this was a toxic relationship that I should cut my losses on, but I just needed the garlic knots I paid for! Sue me. Long story short (which is pretty much impossible at this point), I called them at 8:00 p.m. about the garlic knots, which they said they'd bring over right away, started watching a movie, and by the time I checked my phone it was 10:30 and they hadn't brought the knots. It was a Saturday night, so I figured they'd be open until 11. Unfortunately, after checking the menu, I discovered they closed at 10:30. I never did get those garlic knots. Maybe I'm being generous with the 3 stars due to my horrible experience, but I can't lie, I'll stop in for a slice when I'm in the area because the pizza is that good. But I wouldn't recommend a delivery to anyone. read more

If I could give them 0 stars I would! My son come home and there was HAIR baked into his pizza! Second of all they let any and everybody go to the back with their coats and belongings on where the pizza is being made. The little teenagers they have working there are rude and take up table space. The pizza is oily as hell! Management don't give af. They're just as rude as the teens. I will never go back there and instructed my son to never go back there! I advice everybody not to go there. I will be calling the health department on them as well! read more

I asked the girl while I was ordering to make sure there was mozzarella in the rolls bc I ordered a week ago and there was NO mozzarella in the rolls. She said sure. We pick up the pizza and go home. 1. They forgot the spinach roll that I clearly ordered and did repeated while ordering over 3 times. 2. The chicken roll was cut in half and the chicken was completly dry! The bread on the roll was very hard and this was clearly a reheated roll...my husband calls to complainmn and ask them to make a spinach roll and a new chicken roll since the one they gave us was old...the owner starts yelling at him!! I've ordered from this place a number of times, and recently, theyve been getting the orders wrong, then blaming the customer instead of making it right. I stopped ordering from them, and started ordering from a place who's pizza ended up tasting even even better. They charge whatever they want to charge. I bought a few items in the menu, and the total should have been $32. Then with NYC tax (8.875%), that comes out to $34.84, they ended up charging me $36 for the total and I picked up my own food. They decided to give themselves a tip for me to pick up my own food! This doesn't make any sense. A pie is $8, but an individual plain slice is a $1.25? The food is mediocre at best. They make their money from the people waiting at the bus stop. If you think you're getting a deal, watch out the fees they put in top of it. read more

So good....this was our very first ny pizza experience and we couldn't have picked a better spot. Took the 48 around town and saw this cute little pie spot hopped off the bus and weren't disappointed. If you're down to travel like a native and not like a tourist then this is the spot for you. The sauce amounted to the equivalent of squeezing a single cherry tomato and the dough tasted like fried donut. Can't tell if the guy who made this was new and grabbed ingredients from the wrong bin. Very good pizza with an accomodating staff team! A co-worker and I had the pleasure of ordering from North Shore the other day and definitely enjoyed the experience we had. I called around 10:45 in the morning in need of 10 pies before noon. I knew this was pushing it in the timeframe we needed and although the staff was unsure if they could accomodate us either, they assured me they would get started right away and get them finished by no later than 11:45. We got to the pizzeria around 11:30 or so to wait for them to be finished. When we walked in, they had already finished making the 10 pies we needed. I was very nervous they wouldnt get the pies completed in time but was extremely relieved and happy when they not only got it done, but was early! The process was very easy and you cant beat the price. It was $8 for a large pie and for the money, the pizza cant be beat. It was cooked perfectly, very tasty, and everyone at the office enjoyed it. The staff also went above and beyond by making sure we had extra plates, cups, and napkins to take with us. Thank you guys for a great experience and we will definitely be back soon! read more

Those of us on the island of misfit toys (Staten Island) could spend days debating the merits of this slice joint over that one. The reality is there are several different varieties of NY pizza and you need to decide what kind of pizza you're looking for. North shore is a classic example of the venerable neighborhood pizza place. They aren't a big name for the ages and probably never will be, however they are at the top of the game in the unsung world of slices and the neighborhood pizza parlor. My family ordered a larger pepperoni pie, which we do on a weekly basis at North Shore Pizzeria. Our kids also order food from there frequently during the week. We were regular customers. On 4/30/16 they messed up our order and sent us a regular pie instead of the pepperoni pie we ordered. I called back and told them they had made an error on our order and they said they would send the pepperoni pie as soon as possible. Not even 10 seconds after I hung up a young woman called back and told me to be sure we did not eat the pizza they had delivered so that they could take it back when they delivered the pepperoni pie. We were all outraged. We had no intention of eating the pie to begin with, but the fact that they could ask for the pie back after they made the error left us speechless. The woman on the phone stated they were going to redeliver it. Where is their customer service etiquette? It was in such poor taste to ask for the pie back, considering that it was their error to begin with. Most vendors of any kind that want to hold onto their customers would not ask for the food back, just out of common courtesy. My husband called back and told them this. He also told them to forget about bringing us the pepperoni pizza, opting instead to cut our losses and never order from them again. They've lost us as customers forever and I would be leery of buying food from a restaurant that asks for returned food back - you may run the risk of buying something that was taken back from someone else's home. My husband works in the food service industry and not only is asking for the pie back poor customer service, taking this pie back and delivering it to someone else is unsanitary and a violation of the NYC Health Code. read more
