Restaurants that take care of their customers and employees are some of the best I have been to, and this one is no exception. Schlepping all the way out to Staten Island for this pizza was a risk I decided to take, and it paid off. The restaurant is close by the Staten Island Railway, and inside feels like a true Italian pizzeria, but not like one you would see in Brooklyn. This one is more high quality, and it shows in their pizza. The pizza is phenomenal. Outstanding. I got two pies, one red and one white, for contrast and both are worthy of terrific merits. El Naso, the red pie, is beautiful in color and taste. The porky sausage and the hot soppresata add a nice flavor to the pie, the crispy crust, it was all lining up nicely to be a great pie. I am happy I went with my gut and got this. For my white pie suggestion, I asked my server, Leslie (more on her in a moment), what to get. She suggested El Pizzaiolo. Like the red pie, it tastes gorgeous thanks to the silky and luxurious truffle oil. The crimini mushrooms and Italian sausage accentuate it beautifully and the Parmesan reggiano cheese provides a sharp, salty note to the pie. It rounds the whole thing out nicely. Leslie is one of the reasons I enjoyed my experience. At first I thought she was just a tease with her giggly and youthful demeanor, but after talking to her I found something more deeper and meaningful. There is a depth of intelligence that she has but a naïveté that needs to be cracked before her. The fact that tips mean nothing to her speak volumes about who she is. I really wanted to give her something significant to take home with her, but fun conversation and the fact she is mentioned here will be enough for now for this attractive, lissome soul. Since both pies filled me up nicely, I had to pass on dessert. But I promised that down the line I will be back because the pizza is just so darn good. Leslie, thank you for the lovely experience and I hope someone sees my compliment and gives you a little extra in your next paycheck. You deserve it. We haven't been in this place for many years and me, being the biggest lover of white pizza, decided to come back and order one white and one red pie. We tried white one first and it was something off and taste was wrong for both of us. Red pie with sopressata was super good. We decided to try white again and it was the same. Because we wasn't far from restaurant, I decided to go and tell them our problem (and I'm introvert so it was stressful for me). I explained our problem and they offer me to make a new pie. My boyfriend and I had a date night at Giove Sunday evening. We had an excellent meal and cannot wait to come back! He has been there before, but it was my first time. We decided on the caprese for our appetizer and then we split the large vodka pie for our main course. It was absolutely delicious! I wish I knew our waiter's name because he no was so nice and attentive. In the beginning of the night, I had ordered an apple spritz and developed a small allergic reaction to it causing me to stop drinking it and to take Benadryl. The guy is a legend--he has lived my dream life making pizza and living in Italy. But most important for this review is that the man has been at the restaurant making the pizza EVERY TIME I come. That is what differentiates this shop. He didn't stop after he perfected the recipe. He has dedicated his life to making people happy. And he is a good guy. This place had some really good food. The appetizers were to die for. I didn't get photos of everything. The Shrimp Parm was not to my liking, too salty. The Chicken Parm was excellent. I can't attest to the rest but my daughter said the Pesto Pasta was really good. The Cheese Pizza was excellent. The service was impeccable. We were seated quickly and constantly checked on to see if anything was needed. The place was a little small but very clean with a nice atmosphere. I don't know the price because my son in law snuck and paid for it but I am assuming it was over 300 for 7 of us. And he left a 100 dollar tip. After reading the reviews, we decided to give this place a try after a company picnic. We were immediately seated after arriving. The restaurant is medium in size, with tables seating up to 4 people covering every inch of the floor. Towards the back is the kitchen, which you can watch while you wait for your food to be ready. Framed pictures also adorn the walls as well and the restaurant is dimly lit to evoke an elegant atmosphere. We ordered the following: Polipo al Rosmarino, which is pan-seared octopus with rosemary and creamy potato puree. Instead of potato puree, they gave us potato croquettes instead. I felt that there was more croquettes than octopus. Hubs didn't like the fact that the server didn't tell us that they didn't have potato puree while we were ordering it. If we had known that it was all fried, we wouldn't have ordered it. Small Bresaola Special, which is air dried and salted beef that has been aged for two to three months and served thinly sliced. Hubs liked it but didn't care for He said that it was similar to smoke beef jerky but it's on him because he wanted to try it. Daughter said that she liked it and thought it was tasty. I thought it was ok but I was a little disappointed with it. Small Margherita, which is San Marzano tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, basil & EVOO. The Margherita pie was good but nothing special. Visiting from Las Vegas and took my family who lives in the area to try as we saw the clip from the old Bobby Flay shows. The pizza was as good as it gets, the staff was great, and the place is really nice. The owner came by at the end and brought our desserts -- classy and a nice touch that put a bow on a really nice dinner. One of the best pizza and sandwich place on the island! My boss introduced me to this place and we shared a large pie and calamari between 3 people which was more than enough. The calamari was delicious and you need to ask them to pair it with the hot marinara sauce (it has a nice kick to it if youre obsessed with spicy like I am). The pizza was really good too but my favorite is the panini. So on my 2nd visit I took my best friend here, and she also fell in love with the panini. The hot sorpressata one with cheese and olives just mixed really well together. I come here often for lunch and between the vibe (indoor and outdoor), the food, and the service, there is nothing that disappoints! Even the pricing is very reasonable which makes it easier to come here more often on my lunch break.
