I understand mistakes happen which is why I had my insurance company call Rayus the day before to let them know my MRI is fully covered and they provided a billing code. The Rayus employee said she'd update my ins coverage in their system. I followed up and also called Rayus a day ahead to confirm she knew my insurance covered MRIs 100%. But when I arrived at Rayus, they would not give me an MRI and insisted on charging $255. I called my insurance on the spot and put them on speaker. They informed Rayus my MRI was indeed covered 100%. They provided a billing code and timestamp from the call the day before. After I resolved the billing mixup, the Rayus employee said they never received a call from me or my insurance the day before. She lied. Then she said they were running 10 minutes behind and I had to reschedule. Since they caused the delay, I was stunned Rayus took no responsibility; forget an apology, they punished me by cancelling my appointment! I pleaded to keep my appointment because rescheduling meant a 2 week delay of a vital diagnostic test! I missed work for this MRI and the waiting room was empty but she didn't care at all. She callously and sarcastically said I could take my complaint up with her manager, Tami Cyr. That's what I'm doing.

The traffic was fierce and the gigantic parking lot was full, with the buildings setback from the road. I called their office to merely receive directions to their building. EMMA picked up the phone. I asked her my question and she yelled, "DON'T GIVE ME AN ATTITUDE!" I thought I was hearing things and asked her what she said. She then said, "YOU WERE YELLING!" I was not, however, I was on my cell in a very busy area outside. I did not respond to her. Needless to say, I was shocked to hear the RUDENESS COMING FROM A "CLERK" TOWARD A PATIENT! I turned around and returned home immediately. Social media will be warned about the LACK OF CIVILITY WITHIN this HOSTILE ENVIRONMENT. STAY AWAY FROM C.D.I. There are numerous welcoming, caring and sensitive diagnostic centers elsewhere!

My experience at Excell Orthopedics in Woburn was extremely disappointing…read more The office staff was friendly, welcoming, and I was seen right on time. My intake was completed, my medications were reviewed, and I was sent for X-rays before seeing the physician. The problem is that when I scheduled the appointment, I clearly explained the reason I needed to be seen, provided the testing that had already been completed, and filled out the online questionnaire detailing my symptoms and medical history. When the doctor entered the room, he asked why I was there. After I explained, he told me he does not treat that condition and would refer me to Neurology--even though Neurology was the specialty that referred me to him in the first place. I appreciate the doctor's honesty and that he did not attempt to treat something outside his area of expertise. However, it is frustrating that no one reviewed my referral, records, test results, or questionnaire beforehand. Had they done so, someone could have informed me that this provider does not treat my condition, saving me from leaving work, paying a specialist copay, undergoing unnecessary X-rays, and incurring additional insurance costs. The appointment lasted less than 10 minutes. The doctor reviewed EMG results I was already aware of and documented that my symptoms could be related to neuropathy, despite my explaining that my neuropathy affects my legs and feet, has significantly improved, and is not related to the shoulder and hand symptoms that began while taking a medication. I contacted a manager afterward, who acknowledged the issue and said she would educate the staff and get back to me. More than 24 hours later, I have not received a follow-up. While I appreciate the commitment to staff education, it does not address the time, money, and energy I lost, including the copays and additional imaging costs. Overall, this felt like a completely avoidable situation that should have been identified before I ever arrived for the appointment. My appointment was at 2:20 I checked in my receipt says 2:13, the women who checked me in was extremely kind and we chatted a few - I was brought back right at 2:20, went for xray at 2:30 after sitting going over my medications ect .. back to the room. The X-ray tech was very friendly also! I was back in my car at 2:43.

The staff is wonderful, working in that environment is most often met with patients that are not on their best behavior, in pain who can be ? The staff always remains so optomistic. The biggest issue was the L&D & Mother/Baby unit after delivery. My newborn and I were placed in a room that was only 68 degrees. We were told there were no other rooms available, the solution was to give us extra blankets. We had to wait approximately 36 hours before we were moved to a room with an appropriate temperature. Recovering from childbirth while trying to care for a newborn in a cold room was incredibly stressful. I was also shocked by the cleanliness of the hospital. The postpartum room did not appear clean when we arrived. During my stay, the trash was not emptied daily, and the floors were never mopped. For a labor and delivery unit caring for mothers and newborns, I expected much better sanitation. While a few staff members were kind, my overall experience in both Labor & Delivery and the Mother/Baby unit did not meet the standard I expected. One experience that has stayed with me involved the nurse who introduced herself as Lindsey. She attempted to place my IV before my C-section and was unsuccessful after five attempts between both of my arms. At that point, I politely asked if someone else could try. Instead of responding with understanding, she appeared upset, gave me attitude, and slammed an item before leaving the room. It was an incredibly vulnerable moment for me, and I was shocked by how I felt I was treated. Even if a procedure is difficult, patients deserve compassion and professionalism, especially during childbirth.
