We have never done stand up paddle boarding so we had no clue what to do. He taught us how to get up on the paddle, turn, wind direction, etc. He even brought my hubby a life jacket since he didn't know how to swim. They brought on board whatever we wanted to eat and drink (we arranged beforehand) and made sure we always had food or drink that we wanted. First trip I did was with a buddy of mine (was a first Underseax trip for both of us) and have also gone on my own - I was a little apprehensive about doing solo travel with a group --- don't be. There is always a mix of solo and partnered travel and the guys (and women on this last one) have all been super easy to get along and have a good time diving. It is telling that you see many of the same faces on multiple trips - after my first trip with Underseax, I have not been on a trip since where I didn't know someone from before. Do expect these to be very dive oriented trips (to steal from a techno song- Eat. Sleep. Dive. Repeat) This last one was four dives a day for almost ten solid days. Usually there is a day at the end to explore other land based stuff but these are quick ventures while waiting for the "time-to-fly" and not the main focus (for example we spent a couple hours on a quick tour of Male on this last trip and another was a couple hours zip lining in Honduras). I understand they do some land-based adventures tacked onto the beginning or end of a dive trip - but I haven't done one of those (yet) so can't comment - check back after October I hope. The dive trips have all been with professional and knowledgeable PADI dive masters and instructors. The boat or resort staff take care of the dive gear either on the boat or at the resort making it super easy - no schlepping the gear to the docks or back to your room.

But a 5 star experience to me is a great captain, great gear, great fishing, and a great boat. He actually kept us out an extra hour trying to catch us a tuna and he went above and beyond to help us have fun. I had fun. He also isn't a sissy and wont cancel on you because of a little wind. He will get it done if you want to. I fished with a friend the day they ran the Eddie. I aint no bitch so we sent it. 30 foot waves and all. Matt kept us safe and we had fun. But I would have had more fun on a 40' boat probably.
