Kualoa Ranch is gorgeous so be prepared to take lots of pics haha. The view of the mountain and oceans is amazing. The UTV Raptor tour was the highlight of my trip! Highly recommend visiting Kualoa Ranch and doing this popular tour! The land is ginormous and offer sooo many different tours. I'll def come back and book one of the tour activities for horseback riding and zip-lining. The UTV tour is two hours long and you can either self-drive the UTV or book one with the tour guide. Each UTV has enough room for up to 6 people I believe. We paid $162.79 per person. They make you arrive 45 min beforehand but we showed up 25 mins beforehand and it was fine. You check in with the folks behind the counter and then they'll lead you to the area with the numbered table benches. They still made us wait for the group before us to leave before we even could line up by those tables. Once you check in, they give you a neck scarf (which you can keep) and try on helmets and goggles. You can bring your own goggles or wear sunglasses too. They make you sign waivers and also check your IDs if you're driving. Each time slot has up to 10 groups and you drive in a line, stopping at about 3-4 stops. Our tour guides were awesome and very knowledgeable in telling us facts about the different film stops. I'm a big movie/ TV show fan so it was really cool seeing some of these places in person! They had infamous sets from Jurassic World, Jumanji, King Kong, etc. They gave us plenty of time to check out some of the stops and take pictures. They're also really nice and offered to take multiple pics for us, including one with a big dinosaur in the background (they carry a dinosaur toy for these pics lol). Make sure you book in advance because they fill up the time slots quick! You will get dirty from the UTV drive so I recommend wearing something that you don't mind getting messy. Also bring a mask or wear their neck scarf so you don't breathe in the dust. At the beginning of the tour, they take your picture and then sell printed copy as a souvenir at the end for $20. They have a food court, gift shop, and bathrooms inside. There's also plenty of parking which is a plus! read more

If you do only ONE thing while visiting Oahu then this should be the thing. Besides the beautiful views on the Ranch they have such a great history. You can do the standard movie tour and see the literally hundreds of movies and TV shows filmed there or explore a bit more on your own with their ATV tour or horseback tour. Everything is reasonably priced and our guide was fantastic. So much knowledge of history, filming, wildlife and lore. All done without a script in sight. There is a bunker built for WW2 that was never really used but now houses movie memorabilia from the many productions on the ranch. Staff everywhere was super friendly and be sure to check out ALL of the buildings as they offer food souvenirs and even a shop with meat and products from the ranch itself. read more

If you're visiting Oahu, Kualoa Ranch is an absolute must-do. Every time we find ourselves on the island, we make it a point to come back and try a different excursion and it never disappoints. The setting alone is worth it you're surrounded by some of the most breathtaking natural beauty on the island, with views that are easily among the best in Oahu. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, and there's even a chance you'll stumble upon a movie being filmed, which adds a little extra excitement to the day. This time around, we did the e-bike tour (novice level). Even though it's labeled beginner-friendly, I'd say it can still be a bit of a workout. I consider myself pretty athletic, and there were definitely moments where I had to push myself. That said, it just made the experience more rewarding. They do have you complete a practice run beforehand to make sure you're comfortable handling the bikes, which is reassuring. Our tour guide was fantastic and really made the experience enjoyable. As a bonus, we even got to catch a glimpse of the next Jumanji movie being filmed, which was such a cool surprise. We can't say enough good things about Kualoa Ranch. My biggest recommendation is look online to investigate what kind of tour you want to do. Each experience is different. Investigating also the availability is important, if you just show up, you maybe waiting for the next tour window to open up. I went with my sister and we chose the Movie Sites and Ranch tour. The whole tour was an hour and a half. The cost was $60 We booked it with our hotel, so they gave us the availability window. The bus was open window, make sure you wear sunblock and you are dressed accordingly, the bus took us on the trail with great views. The best park was the scenes from the film. Jurassic park is a classic, Kong: Skull island was amazing to see in person. After our tour we checked out the gift shop. They have all sorts of souvenirs. Wow this place is massive and so much bigger than what pictures show. Everything is green and lush and majestic. Even the drive getting here was phenomenal. We booked the 8:45am UTV Raptor Tour 2 hours. They ask to get there 30 min early which gives you time to park, go to ticket booth to show QR code to get paper slip, and walk to your designated tour and notice the horses! They gear you up with a free face dust cover neck thing, helmet, and goggles (or use your sunglasses). After the safety course, you walk to the UTVs lined up and they take one of those souvenir photos you can buy at the end which we did for $20! The UTV tour is very chill and mild ride. I would say this is beginner level. The ride was so chill I was hoping for more bumpy rocky areas that I'm used to! I compare this to a scenic golf cart ride with dust. I definitely recommend both people to drive and switch at one of the four stops as driving was low risk with minimal rocky areas. The stops include the movie scenes so you don't need to book the movie tour. Everything was beautiful and the guides gave great info about the views and movie sets etc. We had a great time! read more

I visited Kualoa Ranch during my recent trip to Hawaii. The ranch is HUGE! There is plenty of free parking available. I have two young kids so I was looking for a family friendly tour and so I picked the Movie Sites & Ranch Tour. Upon arrival, I went to the checkin area and saw others lined up trying to purchase same day tickets, but I saw alot of them were marked as sold out. If you plan to visit, I suggest booking ahead of time if you don't want to risk a tour being unavailable. After checkin, we lined up for our tour. Before hopping on the bus, we had our photo taken which are available for purchase at the end of the tour. Our tour was for 90 minutes. The open bus allows for beautiful views without alot of walking. As mentioned earlier, the ranch is HUGE and if we had to walk it to see all the sites there was so way our young kids would have been able to handle it. Our tour guide was Isaiah. He was great about pointing out great views, giving fun facts and throwing in a few jokes for some laughs on the bus ride. After the tour we stayed on the ranch for lunch. We ordered the Loco Moco and an Acai Bowl. The food was soooo good! Fresh ingredients cooked/prepared right on the ranch. The kids loved it! Overall, I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience at Kualoa Ranch. The staff are wonderful, food is delicious and tours are thoughtfully planned and executed. I loved my experience so much that I am definitely planning to return on my next trip to Hawaii to try another tour experience. Our group booked the Jurassic tour at Kualoa Ranch. The check in was easy and organized. The guide Trevor, while cracking bad "uncle" jokes, did a great job, I appreciated his photo taking. The highlight was turning on the Jurassic Park score. Our tour goes through the valley, and does note the sites of the many movies filmed here, but the stops for our tour focused on the Jurassic franchise. We absolutely LOVED our Jungle Expedition Tour and it was the perfect length for our 6 year old. Since he's never watched Jurassic Park movies we figured the Jurassic Adventure Tour might be a bit longer and over his head for him so we opted for the Jungle Expedition Tour and we are so glad we did! Our tour guide Zan was super knowledgeable and kind. Highly recommend listening to the reservation recommendation of arriving 45 minutes early because once you arrive, you do need to check in specifically at the ticketing counter, which may seem confusing because you already booked online. The line can be long especially at peak tourist season. We moved quite quickly through the line though. The Jungle Expedition Tour was bumpy but in a super fun way that our 6 year old enjoyed. It was filled with lots of information from our guide about Hawaiian history and culture and ended at a Jurassic World movie set! Even though our kid has never seen the movies, he still enjoyed the prop dinosaurs. The gift shop goodies were surprisingly reasonably priced and of course we came home with a stuffed dinosaur! We Came for the Ranch... and Never Saw It... While considering purchasing an Oahu Go City Pass, we noticed that several Kualoa Ranch activities were eligible for redemption. Because Kualoa Ranch has been on our Oahu bucket list for multiple visits, we decided to purchase the pass specifically so we could experience the Garden Tour. We booked the tour expecting to explore the iconic ranch grounds, gardens, and landscapes that make Kualoa so well known. Unfortunately, the experience did not match the expectations set by the website description. Kualoa's website describes the Garden Tour as: "Our Kualoa Grown Tour takes you on a journey through Hakipuʻu makai, where the past and present meet across working farms, cultural landscapes, and iconic film locations. Guests will explore lush tropical fruit and flower gardens, learn about modern sustainable practices at Kualoa, and see how the land continues to nourish our local community..." Based on this, we reasonably believed that the majority of the tour would take place on Kualoa Ranch's main property, with one offsite stop at Mōli'i Fishpond. Instead, not a single portion of the tour occurred on the actual ranch property. The entire experience took place at satellite garden locations, and we saw none of the iconic landscapes, film sites, or signature views we had anticipated. This mismatch between marketing and reality is what made the experience so disappointing. We specifically chose this tour -- and purchased the Go City Pass -- because of how the experience was represented. Had the website clearly stated that the tour is entirely offsite and does not include the main ranch grounds, we would have booked a different tour or likely skipped the Go City Pass altogether. After the tour, I politely shared this feedback at the counter, explaining that we were genuinely sad and felt misled. While the staff member was respectful in her words, her demeanor was noticeably dismissive, and there was no acknowledgment of our disappointment. We were simply told that we'd have to purchase another tour if we wanted to see the ranch -- essentially, that we were out of luck. A little empathy or acknowledgment would have gone a long way, especially for travelers who had carefully planned and budgeted for this experience. To be clear, the tour itself was pleasant for what it was: three stops, three small food samples, a comfortable and scenic trolley ride, and a guide who was kind and knowledgeable. Had we known upfront that the entire experience would be offsite, we likely would have enjoyed it more. Ultimately, the disappointment came from unmet expectations driven by unclear marketing, compounded by unempathetic customer service. I've done the ATV tours and the movie site tour, and my family has also tried the zipline and we've enjoyed every single one. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking and truly reminds you that you're in paradise. The staff is always so friendly, makes you laugh, and adds to the overall fun. We did the half-day tour (water + movie sites) and it ran from about 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM. It also includes an all-you-can-eat buffet, which was nice. If you're not taking their transportation, try to get there around 9:45. Showing up at least 30 minutes early helps a lot--gives you time to park, check in and grab your wristband, maybe pick up snacks, and hit the restroom before it starts. Tours run rain or shine, so come prepared. A poncho or umbrella is a good idea (they sell them at the market if you forget), especially in the spring. The water tour was fun. You take a small boat to secret island, then hop on a catamaran and head out into the water. You get the most breathtaking view of the mountains, you can't beat it! The buffet was solid--not amazing, but good enough. They had chicken, tofu, chili, ribs, and rice, salad, and juice. It's all you can eat, so you can get as much or as little as you want. The movie sites tour was neat, and it gave us a little taste of what we want to come back and see next time. These tours book up months ahead, so plan early if you're thinking about going! read more

The zipline tour guides was extremely safe and the lines weren't too intimidating. It's perfect for those who have never done zipline, great place to try for the first time. On the short drive to the zipline area we saw a few film sites. Our UTV was right after, we had enough time to grab some food at their market. UTV guides were also very safe and thorough. Kualoa Ranch was an amazing experience on our trip. I had booked 2 tours while we were there - the UTV tour & the Kualoa Grown Tour, with round trip transportation from Waikiki. We were picked up just a few blocks from our Hotel and taken to Kualoa. We were able to bypass the lines as we had prior reservations and were on the round trip transportation - they bring your paper tickets to you when you arrive. We had some time once we arrived before we had to check in for our UTV tour. We got some grab & go in the cafe & browsed in the gift shop. We ate at the tables just outside the cafe where we had wild chickens roaming near us. Our UTV tour was first - we checked in and got our safety gear and were sent to numbered tables to wait for our tour start and our safety instructions. The UTV tour was roughly 2 hours of driving a UTV through out the many many acres at Kualoa. First stop...Jurassic Valley. We were able to get some really great photos in Jurassic Valley, one of our tour guides Kay, took an epic Jurassic photo with hand puppet T-Rex. It was such a great experience driving through the various movie sets and beautiful scenery at Kualoa. There was roughly an hour between the end of the UTV tour and the start of our Kualoa Grown Tour, where we were able to check out the little museum, check items into a locker and make some souvenir purchases. For the Kualoa grown tour, you start by boarding an open air trolly type of bus that takes you down the road to Kualoa ranch's gardens. We saw their fish ponds, taro fields, cacao trees, among flowers, and other edible plants. We tried raw cacao that we opened on the tour and were told about the fermentation process and how it is turned into chocolate. Overall, Kualoa was an incredible experience and I would highly recommend taking a tour or two if you are thinking about it. We hope to be able to do their horse back riding tour next time around. read more

The ranch was a super cool experience to see more than just the beaches in Hawaii. The green mountains are so pretty and I don't think I'll get over how green it is on the side of the island. We did the ATV tour and our tour guide? Austin was very social chatted with us about his own experience and told some stories about the island the people in the culture which I really enjoyed learning. It rains a lot more on the side of the island to make sure you bring a poncho or a rain jacket just in case it rained only a little bit when we were there at the very beginning. You can do multiple kinds of tours there's horseback riding there's a big truck and ATVs and maybe more highly recommend to do this at least once, but I feel like once you've done it once it's not something you would go back and do all the time. read more

We've known so many people who recommend visiting Kualoa Ranch so we made it a must visit for our trip. We booked the tours on the website easily. We showed up and checked in for 1st tour, the movie site tour. The Movie Site and Ranch tour is 90 minutes long and website says suitable for all ages. We rode in an open air bus and saw some amazing views. We visited different filming locations through out the ranch, from Lost, 50 First Dates, Kong Skull Island, Finding Ohana, and more. Each spot had a poster indicating which movie. You also learn some history about the WWII army bunker which was really interesting. The ride gest bumpy at times but not horrible. Our tour guide was knowledgeable, funny, and very friendly. At the bone site stop, he gladly took pictures for us. We also did the ocean voyage tour, which you board a bus to take you to the pond. The boat takes you around Moli'i fishpond and then to Secret Island. Then from secret island you take a catamaran into Kaneohe Bay. The fishpond tour gets very hot depending on the time of day, and you're just sitting in the sun. I recommend lots of sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses. The ocean catamaran tour was great with beautiful views of the island. Be mindful that it can get really, really choppy. We were lucky enough to see some turtles too. The tour guide was also amazing and hilarious. She also took some great pics of us. Staff are also kind and helpful. There's a gift shop too with lots of stupendous, and a quick service food available. Highly recommend visiting Kualoa Ranch. We chose the full day package for our group. That package included the Hollywood Movie Sites, Jungle expedition and the Kualoa grown tour. Our favorite was the Hollywood Movie sites because I love Elvis and my sister loves 50 First Dates. I hadn't realized how many movies and t.v. Shows have been filmed here. Kualoa grown was educational. You learn about the agriculture and aquaculture on the ranch. Each of our three tour guides were incredible!! Without their knowledge, expertise, driving skills and glowing personalities these tours could get boring, pointless and dangerous real quick. Don't get me wrong the views are remarkable and we could stare at them for days but you're on limited time and access. Strip away the stories and jokes and you're left with $$$ spent driving on private property. It's the guides that bring the experiences to life and make it more memorable. Bring cash for tips and if you can't then take the time to leave them a review. Scan the bar codes on their vehicles. It was raining on and off during our tours and you will get wet so if your tour date calls for rain, pack a rain poncho and umbrella. I would not want to do a self driven ATV/Bike tour in the rain. You'll get soaked and muddy. We also got to experience the buffet. It was a hearty meal. I thought we'd experience more made from scratch items because of the Kualoa grown tour. I believe the proteins were locally sourced but the cookies seemed store bought. At the time of our visit the buffet offered salad bar, chicken, ribs and white rice and fountain drinks. We visited the cafeteria the morning of our tour and had pancakes and breakfast sandwiches. Prices were reasonable and portion sizes were good. We took the movie tour( bus ride) and the boat ride from their private beach. They had a 15% discount for military or locals. The bus tour ride was interesting, but it was super hot and uncomfortable. We went during the summer. I wouldn't do the bus tour again, they have lots of other options like e-bike, UTV & horse, that looked less hot and more fun. The kids were too young for those options. The boat ride was the best part, it wasn't hot and it was fun. We saw turtles, dolphins, China man hat and the beautiful coast. Welcome to....Jurass.... Kualoa Ranch! It's much more than visiting movie sites! There's an Ocean Voyage Tour, farm tour, Secret Island Beach activities, horseback tour, e-bike, UTV, and zip lining. Living in Oahu, this was my first time partaking in Kualoa Ranch activities. There was a special 30% discount for Kama'aina last month, which was great! The regular discount is 15%. I recommend purchasing tickets online and also look for special promo codes. Kualoa Ranch is located in Ka'a'awa along Kamehameha Hwy. It's about an hour drive from town. Parking is aplenty! The gift shop was nice with many items, including a special 175th Anniversary Aloha Shirt. There was also a food court to grab a bite to eat. Through the gift shop, you can head over to the ticket counter purchase tickets or check in (show your local ID if applicable). From there, you'll be directed to where you need to go for your tour to check in again. We did the zip lining tour (also a first for me). It's one of the more pricier options, but well worth it. 7 zip lines with the longest of a quarter mile. Tour starts with a 20 minute bus ride to the zip line starting point. You pass by many landmarks, former military sites, and movie locations. That's already like a tour in itself as the driver was explaining everything in detail. I never knew this ranch was used as a temporary military base after the Pearl Harbor attack and the Kualoa Beach Park was used as an airfield. When you reach the base camp, you'll be introduced to your guides and geared up! Yes, the helmet and harness can reek of sweat, which is kinda gross. Bring some Lysol! They do spray it down after it's worn, but might need something stronger. The first zip line is the shortest, but it's definitely a nice introduction for first timers. After the 2nd and 3rd, you're more comfortable. Then it's already time for the longest line lol, which was fun! Our guides were awesome, DJ, Ha'o, and Kaulana. Their directions were clear and easy to understand. Professional, upbeat, good energy, a hilarious, and just make it a fun experience. Trying to get the Kukui nut into the bucket was fun. Need to brush up on my physics lol. Overall, an amazing experience. Our guides and all the staff that assisted us were very friendly. Everything was very well taken care of. The zip line station and cables all looked very sturdy and safe. I'll definitely come back to do other tours. And I wouldn't mind zip lining again! read more

Kualoa Ranch is a private nature reserve owned and managed by descendants of Dr. Gerritt P. Judd, a physician and missionary to the Kingdom of Hawaii. It spans 4,000 and contains 600 head of cattle, 120 horses, and 200 sheep. It gained its notoriety from popular movies from the Jurassic Park series, 50 First Dates, Hawaii Five-O, and many more. They have many tour offerings here including e-bike tours, movie sites tour, zipline tours, horseback tours, and others. We went on the UTV raptor tour which lasted two hours. We wore dust masks and helmets and a tour guide led us through the ranch. We stopped a couple times to take pictures and learn more about the history of the land and the ranch. Some of the roads were bumpy but fun to drive over. We learned so much and had a ton of fun from our tour guides Malohi and Mahulia (sp?). If you plan on driving you should bring your driver's license. On site is a cafe and a souvenir shop. No matter which tour you do I recommend buying your tickets in advance. The scenery was beautiful and although we got a little messy, it was worth it. read more

We made a 9:30 AM reservation and rushed our way from Waikiki. Traffic wasn't so bad until we got about 10 mins away from the Ranch because it was one road only and we were driving behind a Garbage Disposal truck... Really caused so much traffic lol There's a whole souvenir store that also has a food court, fun to browse around once you finish with the tour! They also actually have a lot of different activities that you have to book online prior arrival, but we had the 2-hr UTV tour for today. While waiting, you can even take a look at the horses on the side. They surprisingly don't smell even though there is poop around the floor. After orientation, we're directed to our vehicles, which 6 can fit per car. Even though I have not watch Jurassic Park or the other movies, this was well worth a 2-hour tour! The land is hugeeeee and beauitful. The car ride gets quite relaxing around all this nature, it just makes you wanna close your eyes and take in the fresh air, sounds, etc. haha. They are some cool photo ops around (even though I don't know the whole significance). Now I need to go home and watch the movies to relate. Overall, great tour! The tour guides were also very friendly and told cool stories about the stops that we made. Especially the one with the lizard's tail becoming "Chinaman's Hat" Island. We booked a UTV Raptor tour which is a 2hr long activity where you drive a vehicle with no windshield, side or back windows. It's $326 for 2 people, quite expensive in my opinion. It was pouring the entire time we were on the UTA tour even though the weather forecast said there wouldn't be any rain. Seems like the weather forecast is very undependable. The roof of the UTV has a rim that accumulates water and pours it onto your lap every 5 seconds. My goggles were so wet that I couldn't see the road through it so I had to take them off. But then the rain keeps on getting into my eyes making it hard to drive. The wind blows the rain sideways through the window onto your body and legs. Every single piece of clothing I had was soaking wet. The worse part - I had to endure this for 2 hours with nowhere to hide. read more

We stopped through and saw the mountain and the gift shop. The landscape was gorgeous with a beach across the street. The gift shop was half shop and half cafe. The shop felt almost entirely related to Jurassic Park. If I were to come back I think I would try one of the tours. It seems like a vast space and I imagine there's a tour for everyone. We saw Jurassic Park, movies (such as 50 First Dates), zip lining, and ATV. We've never seen Jurassic Park and that seemed to be the big pull so we didn't prioritize a tour. read more

I truly enjoyed my walking horseback riding tour at the Kualoa Ranch! It was a little too slow paced but the views were astonishing. The tour goes into the lush Ka'a'awa Valley. We passed through green forests, on dirt trails between lush green pastures, under the shadow of the dramatic Kualoa Mountains! I saw so many glimpses of the ocean. Also, the terrain has been used in many films such as Jurassic Park, Jurassic World, Jumanji and more! You can't bring your selfie stick, but you can still bring your phone and take lots of pictures and videos. The horses are very gentle. The most beginner friendly horses you'll ever meet! As I said before, the tour is very, VERY slow and designed for complete beginners. Just so you know, they will weigh you and closed-toe shoes required. We saw such beautiful sights throughout and a lot of interesting filming locations to see. You get plenty of time to drive the UTVs around and it's a ton of fun. The half-day Movie Sites + Ocean Voyage tour at Kualoa Ranch was is an absolute must especially if you have guests visiting. It's a wonderful way to see the pure beauty of Hawaii without burning too many calories. We checked in about 45 minutes early for our 10:30 start time, and everything was super organized from beginning to end. The movie sites tour lasted about 1.5 hours and took us through stunning valleys where blockbusters like Jurassic Park, Jumanji, and Kong: Skull Island were filmed. Along the way, we also got to see some of the livestock on the ranch, which made the tour feel even more authentic. Our guide kept things fun with great behind the scene stories, history of the ranch, photo stops, and the dramatic Koʻolau mountains and Ka'a'awa Valley were simply breathtaking. After the tour, lunch was provided, and we had a little time before the ocean cruise. In between, we wandered through the Farmer's Market, where they sold locally sourced fruits, vegetables, and even cuts of beef and pork raised right there on the ranch. It was such a nice way to experience the ranch's commitment to sustainability and local food. Will definitely stop by for my next BBQ day. At 1 pm, we checked in for the ocean cruise portion. A bus took us down to the dock where we boarded a catamaran. The ride out was slightly bumpy. Exciting and fun with incredible views of Mokoliʻi Island (Chinaman's Hat) and the Oʻahu coastline. The ride back was slower and much smoother, giving us time to soak in the scenery. We even spotted a huge sea turtle swimming alongside the boat. But sadly didn't see any mermaids ;) Tip: Bring a hat, sunscreen and sunglasses. Happy touring!! read more
