Kualoa Ranch ATViNg & Secret Beach
    Cathrine S.

If you're visiting Oahu, Kualoa Ranch is an absolute must-do. Every time we find ourselves on the island, we make it a point to come back and try a different excursion and it never disappoints. Whether it's the farm tour, ATVs, e-bikes, or even visiting the secret beach, every experience has been fun, unique, and incredibly well run. The setting alone is worth it you're surrounded by some of the most breathtaking natural beauty on the island, with views that are easily among the best in Oahu. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, and there's even a chance you'll stumble upon a movie being filmed, which adds a little extra excitement to the day. This time around, we did the e-bike tour (novice level). Even though it's labeled beginner-friendly, I'd say it can still be a bit of a workout. I consider myself pretty athletic, and there were definitely moments where I had to push myself. That said, it just made the experience more rewarding. They do have you complete a practice run beforehand to make sure you're comfortable handling the bikes, which is reassuring. Our tour guide was fantastic and really made the experience enjoyable. As a bonus, we even got to catch a glimpse of the next Jumanji movie being filmed, which was such a cool surprise. We can't say enough good things about Kualoa Ranch. It's one of those places that keeps you coming back, and it absolutely deserves a spot on your Oahu itinerary.

Amazing tours on kualoa ranch. This one was the 2hr ATV tour and for what it worth it wasn't to shabby. I enjoyed the service and hospitality. Would come Back for another tour they offer on property.

My biggest recommendation is look online to investigate what kind of tour you want to do. Each experience is different. Investigating also the availability is important, if you just show up, you maybe waiting for the next tour window to open up. I went with my sister and we chose the Movie Sites and Ranch tour. The whole tour was an hour and a half. The cost was $60 We booked it with our hotel, so they gave us the availability window. The bus was open window, make sure you wear sunblock and you are dressed accordingly, the bus took us on the trail with great views. The best park was the scenes from the film. Jurassic park is a classic, Kong: Skull island was amazing to see in person. After our tour we checked out the gift shop. They have all sorts of souvenirs. If you like adventure this is a great experience to book.

    UTV Raptor Tour 2 hours

Wow this place is massive and so much bigger than what pictures show. Everything is green and lush and majestic. Even the drive getting here was phenomenal. We booked the 8:45am UTV Raptor Tour 2 hours. They ask to get there 30 min early which gives you time to park, go to ticket booth to show QR code to get paper slip, and walk to your designated tour and notice the horses! They gear you up with a free face dust cover neck thing, helmet, and goggles (or use your sunglasses). After the safety course, you walk to the UTVs lined up and they take one of those souvenir photos you can buy at the end which we did for $20! The UTV tour is very chill and mild ride. I would say this is beginner level. The ride was so chill I was hoping for more bumpy rocky areas that I'm used to! I compare this to a scenic golf cart ride with dust. I definitely recommend both people to drive and switch at one of the four stops as driving was low risk with minimal rocky areas. The stops include the movie scenes so you don't need to book the movie tour. Everything was beautiful and the guides gave great info about the views and movie sets etc. We had a great time!

I visited Kualoa Ranch during my recent trip to Hawaii. The ranch is HUGE! There is plenty of free parking available. I have two young kids so I was looking for a family friendly tour and so I picked the Movie Sites & Ranch Tour. Upon arrival, I went to the checkin area and saw others lined up trying to purchase same day tickets, but I saw alot of them were marked as sold out. If you plan to visit, I suggest booking ahead of time if you don't want to risk a tour being unavailable. After checkin, we lined up for our tour. Before hopping on the bus, we had our photo taken which are available for purchase at the end of the tour. Our tour was for 90 minutes. The open bus allows for beautiful views without alot of walking. As mentioned earlier, the ranch is HUGE and if we had to walk it to see all the sites there was so way our young kids would have been able to handle it. Our tour guide was Isaiah. He was great about pointing out great views, giving fun facts and throwing in a few jokes for some laughs on the bus ride. After the tour we stayed on the ranch for lunch. We ordered the Loco Moco and an Acai Bowl. The food was soooo good! Fresh ingredients cooked/prepared right on the ranch. The kids loved it! Overall, I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience at Kualoa Ranch. The staff are wonderful, food is delicious and tours are thoughtfully planned and executed. I loved my experience so much that I am definitely planning to return on my next trip to Hawaii to try another tour experience. If you are undecided about visit Kualoa Ranch, do yourself a favor and make the trip here :)

We did a UTV tour and it was so fun. This ranch was so big with beautiful history and views. I appreciated how they kept nature how it is and preserved it. We really loved our tour guides, they were so knowledgeable and made the tour so fun. This place is huge and it's perfect with friends or family to visit. Beautiful beautiful place. They have different kinds of tours as well - regular, UTV, ebike, horseback riding as well. A lot of activities and options to do.

Our anniversary at Kualoa Ranch turned out even more special than expected. Under perfect weather, we skipped intense activities and took a relaxing trolley history tour ended up being just the two of us. It felt like a private experience with our driver sharing exclusive stories and taking tons of photos for us. There was even a movie crew on-site, adding a subtle buzz and a behind-the-scenes vibe. Food didn't disappoint either--the chicken wrap was a standout again, and we stocked up on local ingredients to take home. Beyond the activities, this place truly delivers nature, food, and unforgettable moments all in one.

If you're in Hawaii, this is one tour you have to take outstanding views an history of films that were film filmed there, hundreds of them Jumanji skull Island Jurassic Park just a few. Have different tours as you can take bus tours horseback riding ATV tours zip lining you name it they have it well worth the price. It is a working ranch so you will see animals.

Our group booked the Jurassic tour at Kualoa Ranch. The check in was easy and organized. The guide Trevor, while cracking bad "uncle" jokes, did a great job, I appreciated his photo taking. The highlight was turning on the Jurassic Park score. Our tour goes through the valley, and does note the sites of the many movies filmed here, but the stops for our tour focused on the Jurassic franchise. The ranch offered several different tours including horse back and biking, and zip lining. It was rainy during our tour, they do not cancel based on weather, but we still fully enjoyed it.

    Jungle Expedition Tour

We absolutely LOVED our Jungle Expedition Tour and it was the perfect length for our 6 year old. Since he's never watched Jurassic Park movies we figured the Jurassic Adventure Tour might be a bit longer and over his head for him so we opted for the Jungle Expedition Tour and we are so glad we did! Our tour guide Zan was super knowledgeable and kind. Highly recommend listening to the reservation recommendation of arriving 45 minutes early because once you arrive, you do need to check in specifically at the ticketing counter, which may seem confusing because you already booked online. The line can be long especially at peak tourist season. We moved quite quickly through the line though. The Jungle Expedition Tour was bumpy but in a super fun way that our 6 year old enjoyed. It was filled with lots of information from our guide about Hawaiian history and culture and ended at a Jurassic World movie set! Even though our kid has never seen the movies, he still enjoyed the prop dinosaurs. The gift shop goodies were surprisingly reasonably priced and of course we came home with a stuffed dinosaur! Also recommend closed toed shoes even on the tours where it's mostly in a vehicle because you do walk around the grounds where it can get dusty and pebbly.

Kualoa Ranch is a 4,000-acre private nature reserve and working cattle ranch on Oahu, famous as a filming location for movies like Jumanji, Lost, Kong-Skull Island, Jurassic World, Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom and my personal childhood favorite- Jurassic Park, earning it the nickname "Jurassic Valley". It offers numerous tours and activities, including ATV rides, horseback riding, ziplining, and movie site tours, set against a backdrop of lush valleys, cliffs, and beaches, while also serving as a significant cultural and agricultural site with ancient Hawaiian fishponds and sustainable farming. This was definitely one of the BIG highlights of our Hawaii trip. Our family enjoyed the jungle expedition from start to finish. Guides were knowledgeable. Staff were friendly and helpful. The photo ops and views were spectacular! Overall, we had a fun and engaging experience! This adventure tour is an absolute MUST if you're visiting Oahu. Definitely recommend it to anyone looking for some adventure!

No mention of wholly offsite locations

We Came for the Ranch... and Never Saw It... While considering purchasing an Oahu Go City Pass, we noticed that several Kualoa Ranch activities were eligible for redemption. Because Kualoa Ranch has been on our Oahu bucket list for multiple visits, we decided to purchase the pass specifically so we could experience the Garden Tour. We booked the tour expecting to explore the iconic ranch grounds, gardens, and landscapes that make Kualoa so well known. Unfortunately, the experience did not match the expectations set by the website description. Kualoa's website describes the Garden Tour as: "Our Kualoa Grown Tour takes you on a journey through Hakipuʻu makai, where the past and present meet across working farms, cultural landscapes, and iconic film locations. Guests will explore lush tropical fruit and flower gardens, learn about modern sustainable practices at Kualoa, and see how the land continues to nourish our local community..." Based on this, we reasonably believed that the majority of the tour would take place on Kualoa Ranch's main property, with one offsite stop at Mōli'i Fishpond. Instead, not a single portion of the tour occurred on the actual ranch property. The entire experience took place at satellite garden locations, and we saw none of the iconic landscapes, film sites, or signature views we had anticipated. This mismatch between marketing and reality is what made the experience so disappointing. We specifically chose this tour -- and purchased the Go City Pass -- because of how the experience was represented. Had the website clearly stated that the tour is entirely offsite and does not include the main ranch grounds, we would have booked a different tour or likely skipped the Go City Pass altogether. After the tour, I politely shared this feedback at the counter, explaining that we were genuinely sad and felt misled. While the staff member was respectful in her words, her demeanor was noticeably dismissive, and there was no acknowledgment of our disappointment. We were simply told that we'd have to purchase another tour if we wanted to see the ranch -- essentially, that we were out of luck. A little empathy or acknowledgment would have gone a long way, especially for travelers who had carefully planned and budgeted for this experience. To be clear, the tour itself was pleasant for what it was: three stops, three small food samples, a comfortable and scenic trolley ride, and a guide who was kind and knowledgeable. Had we known upfront that the entire experience would be offsite, we likely would have enjoyed it more. Ultimately, the disappointment came from unmet expectations driven by unclear marketing, compounded by unempathetic customer service. Kualoa Ranch is such a highly regarded destination that we expected better clarity and guest care.

Kualoa Ranch is a beautiful place to visit, and I come here often whenever I'm on Oahu. I've done the ATV tours and the movie site tour, and my family has also tried the zipline and we've enjoyed every single one. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking and truly reminds you that you're in paradise. The staff is always so friendly, makes you laugh, and adds to the overall fun. I always have a great time chatting with them. This is definitely a must visit because there are so many different experiences to choose from. I find something new to try almost every time I visit. It does get very busy, so be sure to arrive on time for your reservation. There's also a café if you get hungry and a gift shop with lots of fun items to take home as memories. It's an unforgettable experience and one of my favorite places on the island!

Is there anything for a family with a 1 year old to do at the ranch?

The vip movie tour, they take u around in a van or there's one w a open view trolley

If there are 7 of us, would we get 2 raptors to ourselves? Or would they put strangers with us to fill up the raptors?

You should be able to get 2 UTVs. Each fits 3-4. You'll just have to book the self drive tours with a guide. Worth it! We had fun and didn't have to share a UTV since we had 3.

Debating on Jurassic adventure tour and 2 hour UTV raptor tour. Are they both similar stops and photo opportunities or ultimately the same? Or would it be recommended to maybe even do both if there are multiple differences?

We did both and loved it. Glad we did. Some is the same, but there were enough differences that we appreciated them. Different guides, so you get very different experiences. On the Jurassic Adventure you get to hang out longer at places, and… Read more

We would like to do the UTV raptor and the Malama experience on the same day. Is there a recommended order for us to do the 2 tours?

I believe you could do both if you schedule first thing in the morning and the other early afternoon. It does make for a very full day, but would be worth it.

How do you get back to Wakiki if lyft/uber isn't avalible on the way back?

I think I saw a few buses on my way there from Waikiki. Not sure how often they run

Has anyone gotten motion sickness on the UTV trips, is it super winding, can you tell them to slow down if needed?

I get bouts of motion sickness occasionally and I had no issues, plus there are 4-5 stops along the tour where you get out and walk around for 10-15 minutes.… Read more

Is parking free or do you have to pay?if so what's the cost?

Parking is free at the Ranch.

For the secret island how many other families are there during the same time on average?

When I went around 12:00 pm, it wasn't as crowded as Waikiki but there were a few families there but plenty of open space.

What is the difference between the Jurassic Adventure Tour ($139.99) and the Best of Kualoa Experience Package ($149.99) aside from the cost?

Read the description on the website, it lays it out pretty clearly.

Trying to choose between the 2.5 hour jurassic tour or best of tour. We want to take pictures with the Jurassic park sites and kong sites. Is that possible with the 2.5 or movie sites tour? We don't mind spending the day here

I was able to take pictures with the 90 min tour

Does the 2.5 hour jurassic tour also take you by the kong stuff?

Jurassic expedition is more time in the ATVs, and you only visit Jurassic Park filming sites. You briefly pass other movie sites while driving (Pearl Harbor, etc.) but don't learn anything about them or get out of the vehicle.

I have a group of 3 coming the week of 9/26 and all Raptor tours are sold out. Any chance we can still book the day of our visit at your location?

The best way would be to email or call the business directly and they will respond.

In regards to the ATV tour, is the price for the whole party or per person?

    Per person.

    Do you still have ATVs?

We actually run UTV tours now ... so the multi-passenger ATVS ... but not the single rider quads anymore. thanks for asking ... Kualoa Management

Would I be able to see the cafe from 50 first dates starting Adam sandler?

If I'm not mistaken, the cafe was built near the Secret beach area and it was removed after the film. We did the Ocean Voyage tour, and they mentioned it.

Who drives for the 2 hour ATV tour if there is no one over 21 in our group?

If you book the tour, you can talk to the ticket office to see if your guide can drive for you. We have done it before and I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem. If anything, call to book and explain you'd want a guide to drive for you if possible. 🤙🏻

I will purchase the Hawaii Go Pass which includes the 1/2 day at the secret beach? While there, I would like to book ATV raptor for our family of 5. What is best way to do both? Do beach first? How do they handle "half day" use?

We only did the secret island beach but I have to tell you that the words "1/2 day" are a misnomer. We got 2.5 hours on the beach and it goes really fast. The secret island was great but I would not equate 2.5 hours to half a day.

I was wondering you have some kids event for Easter?

Which tour allows me to sight see film locations and get out and take photos? The ATV tour seems cool but it doesn't seem like there are chances to walk around/take photos. Which tour is best for that?

I did the ebike tour and I LOVED every minute of the tour!! Yes, you can off the bike and take pictures!!!

What time of day is the best time to go?

In the morning so you beat the crowds there and heading to lunch spots after.

Thank you Sonny and Randal for the special memory with my nephew Keanu. You provided a gift of adventure that most only dream about! C. Trenary

I went on an archery hunt with Sonny for wild boar, while the other hunter with me went with Bruce. Both of us came back with a pig for the freezer, a friend, and a great experience. They made everyone feel comfortable and excited before we even got in the water. Seeing dolphins in their natural habitat was absolutely unforgettable. The guides were knowledgeable and respectful of the animals, which made the experience feel even more special and responsible. We never felt rushed, and they made sure everyone had a chance to enjoy the moment. The boat was clean, well-organized, and the overall vibe was fun and relaxed. They also pointed out other marine life along the way, which was such a bonus. If you're visiting O'ahu, this is a must-do experience. It was easily one of the highlights of our trip, and we would do it again in a heartbeat!

They do their utmost best to address any needs and answer questions during the entire time. Plus, with their knowledge of the area, we spotted dolphins, a whale, a rare Hawaiian Monk Seal (who actually surfaced to watch us). During our two dives, we even swam near beautiful turtles. Our guide, Morgan, was especially fabulous! Big gratitude to him and to the rest of the crew who help make such a positively memorable experience!

MANA sunset cruise from Ko Olina - the absolute highlight of our trip!!!…read more We are no strangers to Catamaran excursions - trips in the British Virgin Islands, Greece, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. By far, Captain Travis and First Mate Taylor were exceptional, leaving no detail to chance. We were warmly greeted with a drink and were given a very thorough safety briefing. Both were meticulous in their duties to their craft as well as to their guests. The catamaran was immaculate, an outstanding demonstration of the care and maintenance it receives - impressive for a 2008 Cat. Thanks MANA and crews for your care and concern. We had only 5 of us aboard ( they allow a maximum of only 6) which really enhanced the experience. As we got underway drinks were served and then came what I thought was going to be a sampling of local snacks. No, it was a full dinner made by Taylor that was some of the freshest, best food we have had on the Island, followed by a dessert second to none. The other guests dietary restrictions were taken into consideration and we sailed (and for a portion of the trip we were under full sail & not motoring) around with soft Hawaiian reggae playing. The two hours flew by.... We were regaled with stories of the Islands and some very interesting facts. Sure there are less expensive, far more crowded sunset tours... but NOTHING compares to this one. It was worth every cent. When we return we will have already booked this trip before we board our again! Do yourself a favor, splurge on a really personal Hawaiian experience and book this trip. You will be richly rewarded & have memories for years to come! There may be no traffic jams on the extra mile... but you will find on this excursion, Captain Travis & First Mate Taylor are on the extra mile & demonstrate what the extra mile should look like! A very important note - we recommend if you are coming from the Waikīkī area that you plan on leaving early and planning a light lunch at Ko Olina - the Monkeypod, or one of the restaurants in the hotels. The traffic leaving Waikiki in the afternoon is horrible in the afternoon and could take several hours to navigate to Ko Olina.

We were able to see giant turtles and flying fish, they kept great drinks coming and treated us to a delicious dinner. We had our 7 year old daughter and 4 adults, and they were sure to treat her with thoughtfulness - her dinner was catered to her as well as a selection of juices and chips. Well with the money.
