Secret getaway spot in Downtown, Honolulu, Hawai'i…read more.. Located in the Topa Financial Center on Bishop Street, Honolulu Rooftop Garden is free to enter! Just find the elevator near the Security Desk and catch it up to the 6th Floor. Then, take the stairs up (about 3 and a half flights). There was a beautiful view of Aloha Tower! We enjoyed several benches and a picnic table! The plumeria trees and other foliage were thriving! Most of all, we liked the peaceful, clean, safe environment!

Unexpected find…read more.. After having lunch at a cafe in the building I decided to bring my drink to a place that I heard about...the rooftop garden. I just had no idea of the space that's free to the public to enjoy is a nice space along with the views as it's been awhile since I've gotten an ocean view at my leisure though don't expect shangrila but a nice outdoor space in the midst of downtown. Honolulu Rooftop Garden is on top of Topa Financial Center "Parking Garage" so getting there you need to take the parking garage elevator which is right next to the security desk to the 6th floor and take about three flight of stairs (not three levels) and poof there it is. It's basically all green with lightly shaded seatings surrounded by plumeria trees is very lush and well maintained where one side is the side of Topa building so there's no mountain breeze which did get quite hot and the other is the view of Aloha Tower and Honolulu Harbor is a unique sight that I normal don't see but will probably enjoy this space during cooler seasons and appreciate the time it must take to keep it clean and open to the public. Thank you!

You take a boat out from Waikiki to the submarine and then climb down into the submarine and go underwater. We went more than 100 feet below the surface. And honestly, it was just SO COOL to be sitting in a submarine under the ocean. I've snorkeled and scuba dived before, but this felt completely different. You're actually looking out the windows and watching fish swim by while you're moving along near the ocean floor. We even got to see the artificial reefs and sunken airplanes and ships that have become homes for marine life. The guide was really friendly and pointed out things to look for as we moved along. He also had many, many puns. I also really liked this because you don't have to get in the water. You get the underwater experience without snorkeling, scuba diving, getting covered in sunscreen, or worrying about what you're going to do with your stuff while you're swimming. It felt safe and comfortable and easy. I wasn't expecting this to be my favorite activity of the trip, but it absolutely was. There was something about being under the ocean in a submarine that felt like a real adventure rather than just another tourist activity.

The ocean was clear and beautiful the day we went. We learned a lot about coral preservation and the animals while on the tour too. I usually do not like close quarters, but I was comfortable the whole time. It's a very roomy submarine. Having been, I feel like everyone should go at least once! We saw lots of different fish, 2 turtles (Timmy and Tina), an eagle ray, and the other side of the sub saw a shark-very cool!

Her gentle presence, wisdom, and skill as a guide created a space where I felt both grounded and renewed. What impressed me most was how naturally she helped us move beyond simply observing nature to truly being in conversation with it. The experience awakened gratitude, wonder, and a deeper sense of connection. Our time together was rich with meaningful reflection, laughter, silence, and insight. Phyllis brings extraordinary warmth, attentiveness, and authenticity to her work. She guides without forcing, teaches without preaching, and creates the conditions for each person to discover their own experience. I left feeling restored in body, mind, and spirit. Highly recommended for anyone seeking reflection, healing, and a deeper connection with the natural world. I wholeheartedly recommend Phyllis Look and Forest Bathing Hawaiʻi. This was one of the most meaningful wellness experiences I have had, and I will carry its gifts with me for a long time. -- Radmar Jao, SJ

But I'm so glad I gave it a chance because the experience was nothing like I imagined. If you're even slightly curious about it, I highly recommend giving it a try. It might impact you more than you think.
