I originally sought to hire a roofing contractor via Yelp and sent a quote request to several companies at once. Edy responded within an hour of my posting and via messaging I shared pics of my roof, my budgetary situation and timeline. Edy acknowledged my concerns and met me at my property to better understand and communicate the reality of my roofing situation. Edy proceeded to share his findings (a roof layered with two layers of heavy asphalt shingles) and his professional advice and hesitation to lay a metal roof over the existing shingles, although doable, at this stage considering the amount of weight already bearing down onto the property's structure. His honesty and hesitancy to complete this job to merely satisfy the customer and collect a financial sum spoke volumes. He offered and I accepted, free of charge, a detailed breakdown of all material needed to complete a metal roofing project and after much negotiation with Edy, addressing the labor costs and trash removal, allowed me to better understand the magnitude of a roofing job. After some thought and citing the fact that he set an honest tone from the onset, I hired him understanding that other unforeseen structural issues could arise and upon their first day on the job site with his crew totaling 4, he in fact discovered a foam barrier placed upon the frame acting as an insulator (I have an a-frame home). Edy and I worked through the issue which resulted in additional materials and labor costs, but after detailed removal of the shingles and meticulously installing the metal sheets over insulation via wood slats, the project was completed beautifully and professionally. Edy and his crew were very detail oriented, respectful, courteous and friendly. I found out that the product that was installed was involved in Class Action Suits and a claim was warranted. Instead of assisting with the warranty claim they sent it to a another roofing company that had absolutely nothing to do with the issue. I received a call from the owner today who was rude and hung up on me like a child. Sadly Nolan Roofing is not the company they were and I would steer clear. Buyer beware

Lex did her best to be flexible in scheduling for the Re-roof project as Jesus' team became available after the rains. Adam also showed great customer care when it came to transferring my phone calls to either Lex or Mark. - Negotiation was key - the price was right! Sending a great team such as Jesus and his consorts who worked diligently all day, Wed, May 20th. Cleanly dressed and courteous gentlemen. I did not mind having on my property. Kiel's bid was significantly less expensive than the other bid I got from the mainland. More important he kept in touch and showed up when he said he would (and it's not easy to get here). They hand-nailed everything - not looking to finish as fast as possible - they wanted to do it right. Cleaned up after they were finished - grounds are spotless. Untrustworthy! - I used these guys to replace my roof and they have been unethical. A gentleman…read morenamed Finbarr "quoted" to replace my roof which was reasonable in itself. Me being a little naive agreed to proceed and got the roof fixed as per the quote! However, my mistake was not asking these guys for an invoice and I suppose you could argue that they really should have provided one as that's what most honest business people do! Because of this error they didn't give me any paperwork to confirm the guarantee on the roof so I've effetely been screwed by Ferndale roofing. I asked Finbarr several times for these documents and he just ignored the requests telling me the usual fluff ... it will be sent in the morning; he is in Ireland to attend sick family blah blah blah. If you use these guys, be careful and demand an invoice, do not pay them in full until they supply an invoice and your guarantee! I understand why this happened now and it's so they can avoid declaring the tax on this job as on paper it's just a quote! I however have reported this and them to HMRC. Luckily, I have CCTV around my property so I have full videos with him and his colleagues working carrying out the works if they try to deny it. Hate to have written this review as the roof itself seems sound. But they are also not the cleanest they left a ton of roof insulation, nails and waste on site!
