On 8/2/2024 I hired the owner of this business, Ken Strantz, to 1) replace my RV awning fabric and…read more2) replace the slideout seals on the 2 slideouts in my camper. I asked if he needed a downpayment and he said "No".Before leaving the campground he said he needed $300 to buy the fabric. I wrote him a check. On 8/13/2024 he returned to do the work. When he was done, I asked for an invoice, he did not have one. He told me I owed him $1,000. I issued a second check. Later that day I received his invoice: 2hours for awning labor $300; $150 for seal labor, $200 for the seals and $350 for the awning fabric. I immedaitely contacted him and told him I already gave him a check for the $300. This was not reflected in his bill. He said he "screwed up" and would return the $300 right away. When he did not return the $300 overpayment, I texted him again on 8/24/2024. He then responded saying there was no overpayment. I contacted him again on 8/27 asking for my $300. Again he refused to return it. As of today, he has not returned the $300 overpayment. I have paid $1300 on a job he billed at $1,000. If you are going to deal with this man, GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING BEFORE HE STARTS ANY WORK AND PAY with a check so you have a RECEIPT of of your transaction.
