From my first phone call to them, I was moved to tears by their empathy. On the day of, Dr. Abra Osorio texted me to let me know she was 30 minutes out. She came into our home and immediately got on the floor to greet Biscuit and our other dog. She made them both feel comfortable and at ease. Biscuit was able to lay on our laps while she administered the medication. She was patient with us and explained every step. She also had words of encouragement that were so, so needed for me to hear. Dr. Abra was a blessing to our family and we are endlessly grateful to her and Laps of Love.

We did an at home euthanasia, gave old Ellie her last big meal, then she she just quietly went to sleep after a painless injection. I snuggled her in her favorite blanket, on her favorite spot on the couch. She just went to sleep with me holding her. Snoring the whole way, total peace. Ellie had about the best life a dog could have, and I'm proud to say that we took her from the cradle to the grave, and we did it all in our own home, peacefully, with our own hands. Don't get me wrong, it sucks. But I felt good about the way we did it. So much better than leaving them on a steel table in a vet office. Dug her grave out back, Sara was kind enough to carry her limp body down the stairs for me after it was all over. I was a little emotional. After I gathered myself, I put her in her resting spot in the back yard. I'm proud we did it this way. Thanks to you all- Daniel

The only time I have been able to get an appointment here was walking inside the building in person. I even informed the front desk that I had been calling throughout the morning and had my call hung up, or endless ringing. The staff manning the phones.... Don't. This is coming from dealing with the office over the course of four months, with different animals and situations. Whoever is in charge does not a) regularly set up the voicemail b) respond to their internet contact c) post updated hours of operation online d) understand how to pick up calls from hold. Now, in the extremely rare occasion they DO answer the phone, all but TWICE out of a dozen calls in- they will place you on hold for ten minutes or longer. That being said: the singular great experience I had was with their vet tech Keaton. She's very caring and handles cats great.

The staff is kind and they take good care of my dog. I usually have to wait approximately 30 minutes after the appointment time. I have no problem with that but it is good to just keep that in mind if you have something planned afterwards. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my experiences thus far.

I included photos of my home and yard, along with personal references and my vet's information. Judi contacted me to let me know that the foster mom of the dog I wanted felt that he would do best if placed in a home with other dogs. Unfortunately, I have two cats but no other dogs. At first, I was disappointed, but Judi then suggested a different dog and sent me the info on him. She put me in touch with his foster mom, and the rest is history. The transport from TN to VA was excellent, and Tim, the driver, kept me informed along the way. Coal is a perfect fit for our family, and while I've had him only four days now, I can't imagine life without him. I've dealt with other rescues in the past, and this experience truly stands out as the best. The fact that CCR chose not to give me the dog (I thought I wanted) because it was in the dog's best interest tells you all you need to know. Our little girl's foster family, Regina and Gabriella were so good to her and sent me pictures and updates during her foster stay. We met Tim and the van in Stauton, VA. Tim was so good with the van babies. He made sure they all got a little break from all the driving. When he put my little girl in my arms for the first time I started crying tears of joy. I promised her that her new life had just started and all she'd know from now on was love. I cannot thank Candace and her crew enough for the amazing job they do.
