    Chicken Tikka Masala Taco
    Hermary G.

Great spot to catch up with friends! We shared the loaded samosas (not pictured) and it was the perfect appetizer. I got the chicken tikka masala taco and it was decent, but I wish there was more chicken and that it was spicier! The flavor on the fries was good too, but I wish it was crispier! I loved sitting outside but there were a few flies (that's outside dining for you!), but overall the service and food were great!

Amazing food for the value! Butter chicken is always on point! The curry trio was absolutely amazing as well! Great and friendly service. Great atmosphere and just an overall great place for dinner.

This place has a very unique take on Indian food. They serve more like an Indian fusion with American that somehow does work. The service is very quick, and the food is packed with flavor just like it should be. My go to order is the curry trio so I can try 3 different chicken dishes or sometimes I get some Chana masala too. The place has a ramp on the side for those in need of it that I found very helpful.

this might be a given since it's a fusion restaurant but do not come here expecting real indian food, coming from an actual indian! the food is more like indian inspired and is honestly pretty good if you haven't had real indian food and have no clue what to expect. i was excited to see chicken 65 on the menu, which is my favorite, and ordered the forbidden taco. it was huge but very disappointed to see the chicken wasn't anywhere close to chicken 65 and was more like chicken nuggets and a pretty underwhelming experience. i will say the menu items are very unique and intriguing, so i would come back to try some other things that stood out to me and hope they're better executed. my friend got the chana & spinach and said it was alright. as for the ambiance and service, 10/10, no complaints, had a great time! shout out to our server Evan!

Great outdoor seating, great food, great drinks, fast service. That's the winning combination for a successful Friday night! If you love Mediterranean food and curry, check them out.

My fiancé and I were visiting San Marcos and stopped by the outlets. We weren't sure where to go for dinner in that area, so I did a quick search and found North Street Curry Shop, and it ended up being such a great find! We were excited to see that they had a few vegan options, which can be hard to come by sometimes. The open kitchen was fun to watch, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. You can really feel the positive energy as soon as you walk in. I ordered the Chana & Spinach, a traditional chickpea curry served with coconut rice, green chutney, and crispy papadum. It was delicious and definitely had some heat to it, which I enjoyed. My fiancé got the Curry Trio and loved every bite. We also shared the vegetable samosas, which are vegan, and by "shared" I mean I ate 2 1/2 and he had 1/2 ;) plus I ordered a Diet Coke. There wasn't a vegan dessert option, but my fiancé ordered the pistachio dairy pop and loved it. Everything was flavorful and fresh. My only small suggestion would be just a little more rice with the Chana & Spinach dish, but honestly, that's a minor thing. They have a nice outdoor seating area, which is perfect if the weather is warm enough. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and we'll definitely be back. Highly recommend if you're in the area!

We watched Good Taste with Tanji Patton yesterday and North Street Curry Shop @northsmtx was featured. It wasn't the first time they were on TV. We ventured to San Marcos for lunch today. It was a gorgeous day to sit outside. Hubby had a half pint of Two Pitchers Weekender, Dad had St. Arnold Root Beer, and I had Mango and Mint Lassi. We had to try the Curry Queso and Chips and the Vegetable Samosas. The mango chutney is the bomb. We shared the Curry Trio with the Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Chana and Spinach. We had a couple of bites of the Mango Spinach Salad with Lemon-Ginger Vinegarette because we were so full. Brought home the leftovers. The food was worth the drive. Bailey was our attentive server.

Indian. Beer. Coffee. I'm intrigued! What a cute, quaint and happy place for food or coffee! There's indoor or outdoor seating in lovely spaces. The menu consists of Indian cuisine, with traditional dishes like butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, paneer, and others. They have crafted Indian style tacos which are with a soft naan for rather than tortilla. One is plenty as they're quite large. Appetizers, we chose samosas loaded! There are burgers and other choices like chicken salad sandwiches, etc. Beer selection is extensive and crafty drafts, or a smaller selection of bottles is available. Beer is perfect temperature, cool and crisp. I felt that the service was friendly and attentive. I'm looking forward to visiting again! Hours are 11-10pm daily, which is great for late night and avoiding fast food.

It's a cute space. I love the front door since yellow is my favorite color. Lots of tables outside surrounded by trees. Then dining room is smaller than expected with an open kitchen concept. All the servers were friendly and greeted us when we walked in. Summer was our server and she gave great advice on which food to try since it was our first visit. The curry queso was delicious, but as expected: queso dip with all the curry spices added in. It's an interesting fusion of flavors. The Piri piri plate was so good. Big portions of tender chicken. My friend had the curry trio and she said all three were flavorful and not too spicy.

My wife and I picked up our son and daughter in law in New Braunfels to go for lunch in San Marcos. I was really happy when they said we were going to North Street Curry Shop. I had thought about going there when I was in town for the Master Naturalist Annual Meeting last month, but chose a different venue that I could walk to from my hotel. This place is housed in an old house on North Street about a block from Hopkins Street and about three blocks from the Square. Traffic was flowing pretty heavy for a Saturday, but you get out of it the minute you turn onto North Street. There is a parking lot on the side that should hold at least twenty cars and is a permeable parking lot. I feel like a lot of the plants were Texas natives, which I appreciate. We opted to eat indoors, although there is a nice outdoor area. The dining room was nicely decorated and smelled of enticing spices. There is a wall full of draft beer taps in the back. Fortunately for me, they had a really good non-alcoholic IPA. I took a picture of my vegetable samosa. Unfortunately, I forgot to get more when the main course came out. I ordered the curry trio. I chose chicken curry, chicken tikka masala, and saag paneer as my trio. My son ordered the trio with chicken curry, butter chicken, and chicken tikka masala. My daughter in law had the chana masala taco. My wife, less adventurous than most people, had an order of fries. Everyone loved their food. I really enjoyed the chicken dishes, but the saag paneer was the best I have ever had. In the car on the way to pick the kids up, I told my wife that saag paneer is spinach cooked to the consistency of canned spinach from our childhood with big cubes of delicious cheese in it. It has always been one of my favorites. Here at North Street, the spinach was not cooked to death. That made it so much better than any I had ever had. My son and I ordered the paratha on the side. Neither of us is a big fan of papadam. He made a taco out of his. I tore little pieces and used them to scoop mouthfuls of food. It was heavenly. Okay... I can't end this without giving a shoutout to our server Ian. He was absolutely fantastic. His friendly and welcoming personality made our dining experience even better. You've heard me rave about special servers before. Ian goes right up into my top five. He had answers for all of our questions. He got our order 100% correct. He smiled and was friendly at all times. You could just sense that he is very happy working for North Street.

Good day folks! Looking to escape the norm! Craving some curry! Found this little delightful spot - evening weather was gorgeous -we sat outside enjoyed some of their original crafted cocktails. Being our first time - our waitress was helpful in pointing us the right way and making sure we were being taking care of all through our stay. We found out afterwards that you can level up the heat level on your dishes - so next time we are bringing the fire on!! Let Love Lead!

No naan. I believe they do have saag

Are there any vegan items on the menu?

The bartenders are lead by the awesome Rene(i hope i'm spelling that right) and Miguel. I haven't learned the names of the others yet but I have never had an issue with any of them and they are always so polite. You can drink at the bar and even order food from the Taproom. Now for the bad or what needs to improve. The Porch used to have a nice outside 'porch' area with nice chairs and even porch swings. That I always felt was the selling point of this place as when sitting outside i would constantly hear passers by comment on the swings and even come in to sit on them. These have been replaced by very cheap metal chairs most of which are broken now and for some reason an elevated table with barstools which isn't in the porch motif. The interior used to have nice comfortable couches and chairs but pool tables have replaced those. Its fine I mean business change with new owners but it lost a little of what it was. I would be fine with all of that, except the outdoor chairs, if it wasn't so hot inside. The AC barely works if at all and half of the fans do not work so there is no air circulation and in Texas during the summer you want a nice cool place to relax. They need to fix the fans, cool off the interior and put some fans on the exterior. In the spring time, fall and winter its a great place to hang out, but until they fix the summer issues, I can't say. It is better than when they tried to be a disco club during the pandemic lol.

You can sit facing the street, inside with both a street view and TVs, or in the back where there are more TVs but a bit darker. It is definitely a cool bar with great drinks.
