Went on a quiet afternoon. The inside was clean and well kept, but still someone felt neglected, perhaps because it was empty. However, the gyro was tasty. But the quality didn't match the price. Might return when the craving hits, but I'd rather make my own Greek salad. read more

Meeting parents again nearer the end of Mr R's visit, and this was ma's request. She's in love with their salmon over Caesar salad and I assume her husband got his usual beef or chicken wrap. Mr R had a falafel wrap with rice and I finally tried their avgolemono (chicken rice lemon soup) and made it a meal with a Mediterranean salad. Also got the spicy harissa hummus to start with veggies for dipping (at an upcharge from the standard choice of baked or soft pita wedges). The veggies for dipping had the usual carrots and celery but also included cucumber, yellow squash, and a pinch of pickled pepper and black olives. Ma surprised us by digging in and the three of us were happy polishing that plate off. Avgolemono was good, and certainly generous on the chicken. Friendly young man came by to ask how the meal was and take some empty plates away. They've always been easy about takeaway boxes and bags when we can't finish the portions, and I got a piece of baklava to go. Forgot to say I also tried their new mint tea, which is a great option in the summer heat and I hope they keep it around. We're usually here at opening/lunch, but this visit was 6:30pm on a Sunday and I saw zero difference in the cleanliness, food quality, or polite service. Some places you can't risk the last few hours of business because at least one of those will have imploded by then, but Taziki's has proven consistent. read more

We got the "Feast" meal, which in my case included Chicken, Rice, and Potatoes. This seems like a franchise store, akin to fast food, but with a very friendly aire. The counter employee, Aaron, was very pleasant and checked on us more than a few times. Although fast food, it was delicious. read more

Now I'm mad at myself for not trying this little place a lot sooner. My husband and I popped in this afternoon to give them a try and I absolutely recommend them! The service and the food are so on point. Husband had the street gyro with a side of rice and I had the pasta salad which is only available Friday-Sunday. The taste, texture and aroma were superb. Smiling, friendly staff are always a bonus. I'm ready to go back and try another dish. read more

Just visited this location for the 2nd time and once again.. super friendly and helpful service. This time from a young man named Aaron. I also had interaction with another staff member who offered to clear items from the table. Very courteous as well. Food was excellent again. This time I tried Greek salad which was really fresh and nice variety of ingredients. Also had a gyro that was equally good. Based on reviews and my two experiences, they also have consistency down pat. Good job! read more

Having a Mediterranean cafe come to San Marcos is long overdue. Taziki's is a good fit for this college town where having an affordable, quick and light meal choice is an important ingredient for success. I went with the build your own feast by selecting the lamb, Mediterranean salad and Basmati rice. Wifey did the salad bowl with the spicy chicken. Both dishes tasted good enough for future repeat visits, even though it was not very authentic. Since the restaurant has only been open for about 2 weeks, it still had the new, just open smell. Extremely clean, modern and comfortable seating. My advice would be to extend the closing time by a couple of hours to 10 or 11pm, on the weekends, or during a TX State football home game. Run some promotions with TXST students, get the word out and I have no doubt the business will soar. read more

So, this time I ordered a beef gyro and the tomato cucumber salad. The salad was old and brown. The sandwich taster very strongly of lemon and nothing else, so t h en I tried a bite of just the beef. It did not even taste like meat, just lemon. This was my second attempt. My first trip I ordered hummus with pita, which is my favorite thing to eat and I ordered it frequently at many restaurants. Your hummus tasted only of cumin, I could not taste anything but overpowered cumin, which I have never tasted in hummus previously. It is not a flavor I enjoy dominating my hummus, therefore I returned to my favorite hummus, pita, gyro location, The Pita Stop in San Marcos. It never disappoints. This is a must have new place. I've been there twice now and the grilled chicken is moist and tender. The grilled chicken and pesto wrap was fantastic and the roasted red potatoes side was flavorful and delicious. The hummus appetizer was great, but the spiced crispy pita definitely elevated the hummus. The place is clean and well light. You order at the counter and are given a number for them to bring you your food. They have a self service soda fountain. So after your food arrives you're pretty much on your own. The front staff is super friendly and will happily get you to go containers or anything else you might've missed. This place is a welcome and healthy addition to the community. Located in a strip mall, the environment was surprisingly comfortable, well lit and relatively spacious. The cashier was pleasant, helpful and well versed with menu contents. She was very helpful. However, the food was terrible. I've never had such an awful tasting gyro in my life. It was over salted and super sour. They put tons of lemon or lime on the meat and it was inedible. It's unfortunate because it was reasonably priced but not worth it if it tastes this bad. The item I ordered was called the "street gyro". I do NOT RECOMMEND. read more

Met our daughter and granddaughter at Taziki's today for lunch. Very disappointing, as our two gyros were overcooked... who likes crunchy lamb? Employee taking dirty dishes off the table asked how did we enjoy the food, we told him the truth. He said he's share it with the cook, but we didn't hear anything else and left about 20 minutes later. Won't go back. The New Braunfels location was great, we'll stay there from now on. read more

I've been wanting to try a Mediterranean spot in Texas since I used to eat it a lot in California, and there aren't many options here. I ordered the rice kypelos with grilled chicken, a side of falafel, and the hummus appetizer. Everything was really good and super filling. The chicken was tender and well seasoned, the rice was flavorful, the falafel was crispy outside and soft inside, and the hummus and pita were fresh and creamy. I don't usually leave reviews, but this place is new and definitely worth checking out. I'd absolutely order again. The only thing I'd love to see added to the menu is pilau rice. read more

I ordered the Spicy Chicken Gyro, mind you "Spicy", was not actually spicy at all. The Gyro literally tasted like it had been sitting out all day , or was dipped in water. ZERO flavor whatsoever. Where do I start? I ordered a lamb gyro, ended up with a tiny Beef gyro. Im pretty sure there is supposed to be Taziki sauce right? I mean its in the name. Also no feta cheese to be found . I got a side of potatoes that looked and tasted like they were 24 hrs old. Severely disappointed. The restaurant is clean. Came in on 3/5/26 and the guy at the front was so kind and personable. He took our order and was just very friendly. When checking out he made a small mistake checking my friend out. When the manager came to help he was very rude to the guy that was helping us. He was frustrated and angry over a very simple mistake. I feel awful for the sweet guy that checked us out, he looked so embarrassed that his manager would be such an asshole right in-front of customers. This manager needs to go . I ordered the lamb gyro with pasta salad. The customer was excellent, very friendly staff. The renovations look great, very clean and bright. I got my sandwich to go and enjoyed it when I returned home. The gyro was good, meat was tasty, moist. Veggies were fresh. Definitely worth the price, as you get a nice sized side and a handful of potato chips.
