Now I'm mad at myself for not trying this little place a lot sooner. My husband and I popped in this afternoon to give them a try and I absolutely recommend them! The service and the food are so on point. Husband had the street gyro with a side of rice and I had the pasta salad which is only available Friday-Sunday. The taste, texture and aroma were superb. Smiling, friendly staff are always a bonus. I'm ready to go back and try another dish.

Having a Mediterranean cafe come to San Marcos is long overdue. Taziki's is a good fit for this college town where having an affordable, quick and light meal choice is an important ingredient for success. I went with the build your own feast by selecting the lamb, Mediterranean salad and Basmati rice. Wifey did the salad bowl with the spicy chicken. Both dishes tasted good enough for future repeat visits, even though it was not very authentic. Since the restaurant has only been open for about 2 weeks, it still had the new, just open smell. Extremely clean, modern and comfortable seating. My advice would be to extend the closing time by a couple of hours to 10 or 11pm, on the weekends, or during a TX State football home game. Run some promotions with TXST students, get the word out and I have no doubt the business will soar.

It's difficult to find a delicious, healthy meal. Well, Tazikis is the place of your looking for well prepared proteins and greens. Everything was very fresh. Salmon, excellent. Greek dressing, can I buy a gallon for home? Tazikis is my new go-to for fresh, healthy, flavorful meals.

I was so excited about this grand opening today and was able to get some amazing food- quality, service and the staff are amazing! I'm so glad to have this locally. I'm addicted to the spicy hummus and feta dip.

I dropped by for a pick up order and was greeted by three wonderful gentlemen from the restaurant staff. They were so cheerful and welcoming. The store was clean and organized. My order was made fresh and tasty. Thanks to the staff's professionalism, I will be back.

Delicious, healthy food! SUPER CLEAN and tidy dining experience. :). Always a great experience!!!

    Grilled chicken plate

My grilled chicken kabob was raw and I brought it to the staff's attention. The lady told me it's because chicken was brined. Really? I asked another customer next to my table for her opinion and she agreed with me it is undercooked. I could have got sick if I ate it. Bad customer service.

Located off old ranch road 12, there's nothing flashy about this slot in an old strip retail building. It looks likes it been here a while and absolutely nothing has changed.. except maybe the prices. Nonetheless, it's very clean and maintained. The man behind the counter was friendly to me and the other customers. I ordered a traditional gyro that comes with fries and a soft drink. The food was ready in 10 minutes and delivered to my table. The gyro was perfect. The pita and meat portions piping hot and the lettuce, tomato, onion and tzatziki sauce nicely chilled and fresh. Each bite was consistently good. The French fries were hot and nicely seasoned. Very happy to have the pita shop hit the spot for a gyro craving.

The fries are inedible, fried in old grease, flaccid and not crispy. Very soft to touch. Portion size of the fries was very limited. The fries look old since the color is very dark. They look like they were fried to the very minimum or not at all. I couldn't even finish them. They got cold very quickly. Just disgusting really. I emphasize that they taste old. I'm sure why this place has high reviews on Google or Yelp. They did not do a good job on my order at all. I'm from Houston and I've had better falafels with full flavor, but I guess since this is San Marcos they know they can slack off. I know my Mediterranean food and usually the cuisine has a lot of good spices! I won't be coming back. It was disgusting! I now have to eat at a better restaurant to cover the disgust on my palate.

Dolma is delicious, the kebabs are delicious, the fries loaded with deliciousness are in fact delicious, and the prices for all dishes are very reasonable. A Fantastic Introduction to Mediterranean Food!…read more I recently visited Levant Halal Restaurant and brought my parents, who are visiting from India. It was their very first time trying Mediterranean food, and they absolutely loved it! We started with two different types of hummus served with pita. The hummus was incredibly flavorful, and the pita was exceptionally fresh. We also ordered the falafel, which was perfectly prepared and delicious. For the main course, we shared the Chicken Shish Taouk with sides of beet salsa and Lebanese potatoes--everything was cooked beautifully and tasted amazing. Honestly, the highlight of the meal for us was the drinks. The mint juice and beet juice were so refreshing and easily the best part! We finished our meal with baklava and basbousa for dessert, and both were fresh, sweet, and incredibly tasty. Beyond the fantastic food, the ambiance is very neat and clean, and the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. For the first time ever, I was able to try real tahdig, so thoroughly crispy that you can hear it crunch between the teeth of your dining companion across the table. Khoresh bademjan is typically made with lamb, but in this case, tender lentils carry the eggplant with enough meatiness that you'd never think the dish had ever been prepared differently. If you only get one thing, though, make it the ash reshteh. Don't be fooled by the size of the bowl; this is one hearty entree, absolutely packed with chickpeas, lentils, kidney beans, soft wheat noodles, and more herbs and spices than I could identify on a single spoon. I'm already plotting how I can recreate this at home, ASAP. There's even a vegan dessert! Sweet and sticky halva, which is rich enough to split four or five ways at least, if you weren't already stuffed from the main meal.
