Another meal destroyed and three satisfied customers, two of whom needed take away boxes. 26MAR26

Here again at my parents' specific request even though this is where they ate the last time they were in town about a month ago. Quite the ringing endorsement if you knew them. The parking lot was full, this place was sparsely seated having just opened, and the staff were very welcoming. Ma had salad again but splurged on (Atlantic, if it matters to you) salmon for a protein. Her husband tried the beef gyro with a side of potatoes, and I had spicy harissa chicken with Mediterranean salad and roast potatoes. First bite my potatoes didn't have the lemony flavors I've usually enjoyed here and seemed a tad salty, but it all worked well when I kept eating. Harissa mild enough I offered a sample when my ma was curious, and as the delayed heat found her she remarked on it and agreed it was manageable (for a softie). Ma was more than happy with her fish and remarked positively on their parmesan. When we'd eaten what we could of our plates and gotten to go boxes, Bought two slices of baklava to take with us bc I love it and doubted my father'd ever tried it (I was right, he was a good sport and tasted it, happily taking the rest home). Couldn't resist a bite or three of mine before we headed out; I say if you've never tried baklava and want to, try it here bc it's a larger piece for less money and still decent quality. A nice introduction. The place was clean, the staff were friendly, the seating was plentiful and the crowd (a table of fairly quiet but entertaining seniors) pretty genial. Consistently good food, excellent casual service, and clean. I'm confident this place is staying on my parents' request list and am happy to oblige.

Now I'm mad at myself for not trying this little place a lot sooner. My husband and I popped in this afternoon to give them a try and I absolutely recommend them! The service and the food are so on point. Husband had the street gyro with a side of rice and I had the pasta salad which is only available Friday-Sunday. The taste, texture and aroma were superb. Smiling, friendly staff are always a bonus. I'm ready to go back and try another dish.

Having a Mediterranean cafe come to San Marcos is long overdue. Taziki's is a good fit for this college town where having an affordable, quick and light meal choice is an important ingredient for success. I went with the build your own feast by selecting the lamb, Mediterranean salad and Basmati rice. Wifey did the salad bowl with the spicy chicken. Both dishes tasted good enough for future repeat visits, even though it was not very authentic. Since the restaurant has only been open for about 2 weeks, it still had the new, just open smell. Extremely clean, modern and comfortable seating. My advice would be to extend the closing time by a couple of hours to 10 or 11pm, on the weekends, or during a TX State football home game. Run some promotions with TXST students, get the word out and I have no doubt the business will soar.

It's difficult to find a delicious, healthy meal. Well, Tazikis is the place of your looking for well prepared proteins and greens. Everything was very fresh. Salmon, excellent. Greek dressing, can I buy a gallon for home? Tazikis is my new go-to for fresh, healthy, flavorful meals.

I dropped by for a pick up order and was greeted by three wonderful gentlemen from the restaurant staff. They were so cheerful and welcoming. The store was clean and organized. My order was made fresh and tasty. Thanks to the staff's professionalism, I will be back.

I was so excited about this grand opening today and was able to get some amazing food- quality, service and the staff are amazing! I'm so glad to have this locally. I'm addicted to the spicy hummus and feta dip.

Delicious, healthy food! SUPER CLEAN and tidy dining experience. :). Always a great experience!!!

    Grilled chicken plate

My grilled chicken kabob was raw and I brought it to the staff's attention. The lady told me it's because chicken was brined. Really? I asked another customer next to my table for her opinion and she agreed with me it is undercooked. I could have got sick if I ate it. Bad customer service.

My absolute favorite dish is the fried fish and chips--perfectly crispy on the outside and tender and flavorful on the inside. It's honestly one of the best versions I've had anywhere. On my most recent visit, I also tried the lettuce tacos, which seem to be really popular there right now. The moment I took my first bite I fell in love with the flavor. They were fresh, light, and packed with amazing taste. I ended up eating the whole thing right away because they were just that good. I also ordered the fried dill pickles, which are another personal favorite of mine. They were perfectly fried and full of flavor. One thing I've noticed every time I visit is that the restaurant is always busy, which says a lot. It's clear that many people love their Mediterranean menu, and after eating here multiple times, I completely understand why. I also enjoyed sitting outside at the Hill Country Galleria--it's a great atmosphere to relax and enjoy your meal. I highly recommend Artemis Mediterranean Grill if you're in the area. The food is delicious, the menu has something for everyone, and it's definitely a place I'll keep coming back to.

We had a reservation and the host sat us down immediately and was so friendly. Our server was there right away. Her service was just perfect ... friendly and not over the top. She was knowledgeable about the dishes and gave us suggestions. We had a mockingbird mocktail and my son a soda. The drink was perfect. We ordered the whipped feta, falafel and beef Lamb kefta. Everything came out really quickly. The falafel was absolutely delicious. The whipped feta was a hit with my son. The kefta was a little disappointing. A little bland and dry. I ordered the pannacotta my son the chocolate chocolate cake. I absolutely loved mine with the sorbet on top. My son loved his cake. Atmosphere wise the restaurant is beautiful and cozy and grand but the only complaint would be the music was too loud and it was hard to hold a conversation. It was their very first time trying Mediterranean food, and they absolutely loved it! We started with two different types of hummus served with pita. The hummus was incredibly flavorful, and the pita was exceptionally fresh. We also ordered the falafel, which was perfectly prepared and delicious. For the main course, we shared the Chicken Shish Taouk with sides of beet salsa and Lebanese potatoes--everything was cooked beautifully and tasted amazing. Honestly, the highlight of the meal for us was the drinks. The mint juice and beet juice were so refreshing and easily the best part! From the moment we arrived, it felt like we had been transported to a little taverna on a Greek island. The crisp white walls, iconic blue window frames and shutters, and charming atmosphere immediately set the tone. Even more impressive was the hospitality. From the hostess to our server, and even the owner stopping by our table, everyone embodied the warm, welcoming Greek hospitality I grew up with. The appetizer menu was so tempting that we wished we had ten stomachs. We settled on the octopus, spanakopita, saganaki, keftedes, and a horiatiki salad, and I'm so glad we did. The octopus was cooked perfectly, tender and seasoned with excellence. The spanakopita was beautifully flaky with a satisfying crunch, and the filling was rich and flavorful. The tzatziki was incredibly fresh and honestly some of the best I've had in a long time. The biggest surprise of the night was the saganaki served with fig jam. I never would have thought those flavors belonged together, but they absolutely did. It was a standout dish. The keftedes were also fantastic, juicy, well-seasoned, and packed with flavor. For our entrées, we ordered the pastitsio, gouvetsi, and chicken souvlaki. While the appetizers truly stole the show, the main courses didn't quite reach the same level. We did arrive close to closing time, so that may have played a role. The pastitsio had great flavor overall, and the béchamel was beautifully prepared, but some of the pasta was a bit firm, and I personally would have loved a touch more cinnamon. The gouvetsi had excellent texture, but it was a little too salty for my taste, but that didn't stop my daughter from devouring it. The chicken souvlaki was unfortunately on the dry side and a bit tough. Even with those minor disappointments, I'd absolutely return. The menu is filled with so many traditional Greek comfort foods that I'd love to come back and explore more of what they have to offer. The appetizers alone are worth the visit, and the atmosphere and genuine hospitality made the experience feel like a little taste of Greece right here in Austin. If you're looking for authentic Greek flavors, a beautiful setting, and genuine (Greek hospitality), Yamas is definitely worth adding to your Austin dining list.
