We only saw the North Unit on our visit so we will definitely have to visit more at a later date. While visiting I felt so at peace and love that it's not overcrowded like other National Parks and that you really feel surrounded by nature and wildlife. We enjoyed driving along the scenic path and soaking in the stunning views! We saw cannonball concretions, stunning views from the overlooks along the way, and saw lots of bison. There are lots of hiking trails to explore and we saw deer. We look forward to coming back and hopefully seeing wild horses and prairie dogs. The park is large with so much to see and do. An absolutely gorgeous place to visit that is so underrated! Highly recommend visiting this place!

No over-crowding, decent rustic camping, lots of wildlife & plenty of space to roam. South Unit loop has a lot of construction going right now, which makes it an out & back va a loop. We spotted plenty of bison, horses, prairie dogs, deer & such. There was a pretty thick layer of smoke lingering, no fault of the park but it did make for a rough outdoor time & lousy landscape photos. I've been a lot of places and have to see a better sunset than I've seen here. It's a great place to unplug & reconnect with nature.

The south unit is the largest of the three park sections in the mountain time zone. The Scenic Loop, Drive is 36 miles around although miles of the road are closed,so we could not loop we had to backtrack. The visitor center has information, a theater and a museum with natural history displays and some of Theodore Roosevelt personal items. In this section of the park is a dude ranch from the 1920s that was the headquarters of the WPA. Previously there were guided horseback rides from here. There is a wilderness section of the south unit and a petrified forest. These sections of the park cannot be reached by paved roads. The gravel dirt roads are difficult for vehicle vehicles.

I never even had heard of this national park before. The trails aren't intense at all and there are some opportunities to see bison. Absolutely loved their small gift shop. It had lots of cool things and even a small video showing for visitors to watch. I'd like to visit the South unit one day.

For a campground that boasts lovely cottonwood trees, we were dismayed that the east side tent spots lacked consistent shading. We checked in on a Tuesday and leaving by Friday, so why not give us a prime shady location? Maybe Medora you could note that on your website- tent, no shade, near the berm, etc. I would have paid the extra implied cost to have a reliably shady tent space. Bathrooms were not at all like other reviews described. They were clean and well draining. And they were convenient for the tent campers. I loved that the river was accessible. We did lots of Little Muddy swimming and rock exploiting. So cool to be right next to TRNP. I will camp here again. In an RV, or note the shady request in my reservation request.

I'd consider it a more acceptable hotel if they didn't charge a premium price for no quality at all. For almost $300 night it's a rip off. Only reason it can charge this kind of price is its location which is 1/4 miles from Roosevelt park's south unit. At least everything in the room worked, fridge and microwave oven, ok shower and aircon. Wifi slow and difficult to connect. Breakfast standard, hot include powdered eggs and sausages. Some mini muffins. There are some other motels in town but not a lot of options if you want to stay in Medora. But I guess you can't beat location although if you don't mind driving a bit there are much better and less costly hotels to stay in Dickinson.
