I took my wife and our dog for a walk along the Paseo del Bosque Trail, and it was exactly the…read morereset we needed. We went in late November, when the cottonwoods are still glowing gold, and the whole riverside felt like it was an autumn paradise. The trail is flat and easy, with long stretches that let you really settle into the scenery-Rio Grande on one side, trees and little side ponds on the other. Our dog loved it. There's plenty of room to keep a dog on leash without feeling crowded, and enough side paths and textures (sand, dirt, leaves) to keep him interested. We saw ducks and geese cruising on the water, along with a woodpecker working a cottonwood trunk. It also turned into a really sweet date. There are quiet spots to stop, sit by the water, and just watch the birds and the current go by. It never felt unsafe or overly busy, just a steady trickle of walkers, cyclists, and other people out enjoying the trail. If you're visiting Albuquerque-or you just moved here and want to fall in love with the area a little bit-Paseo del Bosque is an easy yes.

The trail had a dotted center line and a reminder of the courtesies to use while on the trail. The path I took was not shaded. I would say about a 1/4 of the path had rough bumps, and many of them were painted to highlight them. It was a decent path, but I didn't feel like there was much in the way of sight seeing.

I liked it so much that I decided to be a repeat customer. I really like to ride my bike and I use it for daily fitness purposes. The sales was no hassle, no pressure. They offered credit to finance my purchase, which I took advantage of. They also told me that a level once maintenance package was included with my bike. They encouraged me to use their app, Ride Club. I downloaded the app and was on my way. The bike is a smooth riding machine. I use two apps when I ride, the Ride Club app and Map my run. They both give slightly different information. Around November 2025, I brought my bike in for that maintenance service. Based on my miles, they suggested a level two service, and they would credit the difference of a level one that came with the bike. That worked for me. I don't recall how long they had my bike, but it wasn't more than a few days. I got her back and she was glowing. She looked brand new. I brought my bike back again in May to address a squeaky brake issue. They bled the brakes. I picked it up and then I had problems with my gears on my first ride. I brought it back to the shop. They made some adjustments, but it wasn't quite enough. I brought it back in again and they checked it in. They called me and said that some of the problem should have been discovered on a earlier visit. For that, they said they would cover the parts if I would cover the labor. I agreed. She is back to a well running machine. This has only been my bike shop since I purchased my bike. I love walking in there. I'm usually greeted and service is always on top of their business. Often, someone will open the door as I wheel my bike out. So nice, a great bunch of people.

But, the store is full of an impressive stock of inventory for your sporting needs. Today, I stopped by the shop to get a water bottle cage. I had a remaining balance on a gift card to use. I found the cage. I also looked at a pair of biking glasses as I am in the market for some. The glasses where right next to the register with a few employees. I asked if I could take the transition lenses outside to try them. The took off the security device so I could do so. I opted not to get the glasses today, but I might get them in the near future. There was some trouble getting my gift card balance applied, but that was resolved and my purchased was complete. I read several Yelp reviews from customers complaining about the employees ignoring customers. I have to address this. Maybe it's just me, but I don't feel the need to be acknowledged when I'm in a store. If I need someone, I will flag them down. They have always been kind, courteous, and respectful to me over the course of my patronage, bike shop and store.

So upon my arrival I asked for Rico and he came with a unwelcoming approach he handed me off to another salesperson unbeknownst to me after I told him I was picking up my bike. He flatly turned around without a word and another uninterested person who didn't address he would help me instead. But just stood there. I finally asked where Nico went to my husband and this guy said I was ready to go. I was surprised and I said oh your helping me now? I asked if everything was there and he pointed to a box. I was surprised he had no interest in showing me how to operate the bike or set it up for me. I asked for him if he would adjust the bike for me since he clearly was doing the absolute minimum. The lack of service was obvious since the first interaction with the staff. No they didn't sale me the bike, Melissa did over the phone but apparently there is no interest in providing customer service unless the person made the sale was present. I was surprised to see 3 staff members outside providing service to a couple with optimum care and service making necessary adjustments to her bike but that same care wasn't provided to me. I would have bought other accessories and clothing during my visit but the shunning left me with a bad taste. Which I had never experienced before at a bike shop.
