A year in review. I purchased my Trek Domane SL 5 Dark Aquatic Gen 4 for $3,699.99 in June 2025. I owned a Trek bike in the past, and I bought that one for under $1000. I liked it so much that I decided to be a repeat customer. I really like to ride my bike and I use it for daily fitness purposes. The sales was no hassle, no pressure. They offered credit to finance my purchase, which I took advantage of. They also told me that a level once maintenance package was included with my bike. They encouraged me to use their app, Ride Club. I downloaded the app and was on my way. The bike is a smooth riding machine. I use two apps when I ride, the Ride Club app and Map my run. They both give slightly different information. Around November 2025, I brought my bike in for that maintenance service. Based on my miles, they suggested a level two service, and they would credit the difference of a level one that came with the bike. That worked for me. I don't recall how long they had my bike, but it wasn't more than a few days. I got her back and she was glowing. She looked brand new. I brought my bike back again in May to address a squeaky brake issue. They bled the brakes. I picked it up and then I had problems with my gears on my first ride. I brought it back to the shop. They made some adjustments, but it wasn't quite enough. I brought it back in again and they checked it in. They called me and said that some of the problem should have been discovered on a earlier visit. For that, they said they would cover the parts if I would cover the labor. I agreed. She is back to a well running machine. This has only been my bike shop since I purchased my bike. I love walking in there. I'm usually greeted and service is always on top of their business. Often, someone will open the door as I wheel my bike out. So nice, a great bunch of people. read more

I guess it's normal to get a tier 2 maintenance package and still have your brakes super squishy and your gears still slipping took the bike back, told it the issue and they were more than happy to charge me again to fix something they should have covered in the beginning. Jon and Mike were great! Stopped by, Jon was super helpful, answered all my questions. Left as I wasn't ready to buy and stopped at a few other bike shops, one which blew me off and left me hanging. Their mistake! Drove back to Trek and bought a couple of bikes. Mike was great during checkout, making some solid suggestions and I'll be grabbing the bikes tomorrow. I'm sure I could have sourced the bikes and stuff I bought online for less, but the service made it for me. A really great experience! read more

I brought my bike there to get tuned up to get new inner tubes, etc., and I was very happy with the service and the results! They made my bike look brand new, and they were considerate and polite. Walking in the store for the first time, I was impressed and felt welcomed. It was a big store with a great feel. There were several customers, and everyone looked happy. Armed with information, I left, went to other stores test riding other bikes and when we went back he remembered me and all we had talked about. **As of June 2020, all phones are disconnected because of the volume of calls. You must go into the store for service. If you want to shop around, you'll have to wait in line for a staff member to escort you around the store. Inventory is tight, they have a lot of competition bikes but no "regular" bikes for someone like me. Inventory will be restocked in October.... maybe. With the world the way it is nowadays, it's pretty hard to find anything outdoorsy for sale. My sons bike was beat up so I decided to buy him a new one. It's been a while since my old bmx days, so I really don't know much about modern mountain bikes. After trying multiple local bike shops with no luck, I found the Trek Superstore on yelp. After about a 10 minute wait in line, Luigi came and escorted us around the store. Luigi was very knowledgeable and took his time with us. There was nothing in my son's size so he went down stairs to double check inventory. He came back and said that there was one bike that had just arrived but it was still in the box. He gave me a description then went back downstairs and took a picture of the frame for me to see. I bought the bike and was told that they were backed up and that it would take a week to build. Surprisingly, they called the very next day and the bike was ready for pickup. Needless to say, my boy was super stoked. And, I think he got the last bike in his size for sale in Albuquerque. We went in to look at EBikes. Mark helped us and was awesome. While I fell in love with a Bike, since it's $3,000, I have to think about it and make sure it's what I should be getting. They have a good selection of Bicycles. Mark was quick to let me test the Bike, offering me a helmet and assistance to take it outside and ride it around to the back and make sure it's what I would enjoy riding. He made sure the seat was the correct height and explained everything about it. I really LOVE the bike and will probably be going back soon as I haven't changed my mind and I really appreciated the great Service offered. Without even stepping in the door I was already bugged. I called 3 different small bike shops looking for a tire and everyone picked up the phone. Trek, went to voicemail. When I went onto their site to price the tire, Pirelli P-Zero race TLR, 700x26c para, the price was $99.90. Local, small bike shop when in stock, $85. WesternBikeWorks online: $71.91. Why does a large corporate shop need to gouge me on this tire? With the ability to buy in large lots how does a small local shop offer it for $15 less, and a smallish online outfit for $28 less? One more reminder to buy small and local whenever possible. And when it isn't, avoid corporate overprice. read more

I almost purchased 2 bikes from Trek. I visited the store twice on Monday, September 8th. Our bikes were recently stolen so we were looking for replacements. I went in during the afternoon and received excellent service. I told the associate what bikes we had and he knew what they were immediately even though they were Novara (REI exclusive brand). We went over a few options and he really seemed to know what I was looking for. I planned on dropping by the following evening with my partner to make a purchase. She was at work at the time. Fast forward to 6:30PM. We were able to come in that evening and were both excited to get new bikes. I was happy with the service I received (although I am a diehard REI fan) so we rushed in to make a purchase that evening. Well, the next sales associate we encountered with not helpful at all. We live right by the bosque and although we don't ride the bosque river trail very often we are huge fans of it. This guy decided that he was going to continuously rant about the trail and tell us how much he hates it. Not cool bro, not cool. Before you knock stuff to customers let them start the ranting. He continuously tried to offer my wife bikes with suspension when I specifically said we are looking at commuter bikes, not mountain bikes. Despite me saying that he kept showing her bikes with suspension and really lacked the product knowledge to educate and sell a bike to a customer. What really blew me away was when he sent me to OTHER retail stores. He recommended that I go look at Performance Bicycle and Fat Tire? I can't remember the name of the second shop. He also told me it's the worst time to buy bikes and he's right but I NEED a new bike. I can't wait for months when all of your 2015 product comes in. You have a ton of bikes at your distribution center that are 2014 and on clearance. SELL ME ONE OF THOSE! Overall, it seems like it depends upon what sales person you get. Some are awesome and some are horrendous. I was ready to drop $1,800 to purchase new bikes that exact night! I'm really bummed because I was really looking to venture out from Novara and try something new. Sadly, it didn't happen. I spent my $1,800 that same night at REI. Maybe that is chump change to Trek? I recently purchased a new bike there, and was very impressed by the patience and helpfulness of the staff, as well as the low-pressure atmosphere. I am finicky about bike fit. They let me try out 3 different sizes of bikes. . . Then when I was done, they didn't act like I was obligated to buy a bike. They were surprised when I said I'd take it. They had to assemble the bike, and had it done two days later. When I came to pick it up 30 minutes before closing, they patiently answered my 20 questions, and gave me a couple of empty small bottles of tubeless sealant so that I could refill them and easily carry them out on the trail. It's a small detail, but I was already ready to buy some, when he pulled them from the back. One other thing. . . They sell more than Trek, so if there's another brand of bike you're interested in, they might be able to set you up! I'd buy there again, and I would recommend my friends and family go there if they were interested in buying a bike. I have been in the market for some new cycling gear and this was one of my comp shop stops. I was a little dissapointed when I had a few employees walk past me without an initial greeting. After about 15 minutes of looking at helmets and apparel I had a different employee come up to me and answer any questions I may have. I explained that I was just getting back into riding and needed the basics. He offered to walk me through everything. I ended up purchasing plenty of merchandise and walked out of their feeling a heck of a lot more knowledgeable and excited. I went in to the store expecting to buy a new mountain bike. After Josh asked me how I actually ride he suggested a hybrid bike which I ended buying. After three rides I can say his suggestion was perfect for me and saved me money over what I thought I was going to buy. Much appreciated. On my third ride I suddenly had a flat tire. I took the bike back to Trek and found the valve stem had separated from the tube. It was fixed immediately. Great service. I can't believe no one has reviewed Trek yet... So, when we first moved here, about a year ago, we were driving around town and I thought we might have a huge crash and die - my husband saw the Trek sign on the corner of San Mateo and Menaul. I don't remember what we were supposed to be doing or where we were originally headed but whatever it was immediately got thrown to the curb, as he screeched to a halt and nearly killed us turning quickly to get over to the shop. He was SO excited! (Can you tell he is a big Trek fan?) We both have Trek bikes, and he was really looking forward to seeing what fun stuff the store had for him to drool over. He was not disappointed. He spent quite a while wistfully staring at the high-end bikes, slyly asking me if he could buy some $7000 model - yeah, right! We watched some cool videos they have on a permanent tv display, and looked at the clothes, the accessories, the cool extras you can get to make your bike just that much more fun - it was great! We talked to the service folks about our bikes and realized we were WAY overdue for having them looked at, and it's really a reasonable cost. We left that day with my man feeling happy and excited about his bike and Trek and life in ABQ. Since then, we have been to Trek many times, had our bikes serviced (they are much smoother now!), and had some minor repairs done after a wipeout or two... We have gotten advice about where to ride, gotten some free stuff like water bottles, participated in a Trek-sponsored bike race that we learned of by going to the store, and generally had good experiences every time we go in. The staff are very friendly, very knowledgeable and eager to help. No chicks work there that I have ever seen, which is odd, and as a chick, I find that interesting... However, if no chicks apply, that's not their fault, right? Makes you wonder, though. Anyway - generally speaking, Trek is a fantastic place, and I strongly recommend it! This place is great! I'm not an avid cyclist but I bought a kid's bike from them and the quality of the bike was great compared to others that I researched (steel vs aluminum). They really take their time with you when you have questions or in the process of reviewing options. They tuned up everything and had it ready to go. Walked in well before closing and had to wait ten minutes before a hurried gentleman reluctantly asked if I'm ok and when I asked about pedal cages he dismissed it by saying we don't have your size and scurried off to the back. As I looked at mountain bikes for roughly half an hour not one employee offered to help or answer any of my questions. Customer service is terrible considering what people pay for their bicycles and equipment. Left without buying anything and many questions unanswered. Typical elitist bicycle "superstore" raking in heaps of money from hard working people and not educating people new to the world of bicycles nor making it a nice experience whatsoever. We went in to get my trek bicycle that was given to me serviced and came out with a brand new bicycle for my husband. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The sales associate made sure my husband was fitted to a bicycle he wanted and was given great instructions on how to care for his bike. They also told me I was very lucky to score a great vintage trek in such great condition. We were give 50.00 in store credit for accessories and they didn't charge me labor for my bicycle.
