Hospital staff in the emergency room used to show urgency and care, but the last time I went in I was in pretty rough shape and immediately the front desk lady was speaking in a annoyed tone and rushed through getting my questions done. There were 3 people who came in AFTER me and they got to them before me. I'm not one to usually complain or go out of my way but it's disappointing to drive all the way to whitefish out of my way because Kalispell is awful and still get the same treatment. My daughter was born in whitefish hospital and the care has always been so good up until now that's why we chose it. But it seems just like every other company in the valley it's all corporate and no longer entirely focused on patient care. read more

You know that unless it's a baby delivery or elective cosmetic procedure a hospital is never good. Just moved to the area and my husband needed immediate care so we were told to go here. Oh my gosh what a nice place. Friendly, very caring and quick to get to the patient. It was my husband I had to bring in the emergency room and the staff made us feel good about treatment and after care. I really liked this hospital and the staff. Kudos to them all. Would never hesitate to have to return here for any medical care. read more

6/14/20 My senior friend had excruciating pain, so we called this morning to ask if we should bring him back in. When he was discharged to us a few days ago, they reassured us that they added his granddaughter and me as contacts in his file. On the phone, they refused to talk to either of us about him today, and just told us to take him to urgent care or the ER. I figured he would be seen more quickly at Glacier Medical associates (since I have waited for many hours in the past to be seen in an ER), and we had him at that urgent care clinic as soon as they opened their doors at 11a. They drew blood and checked his urine, then sent us to the NVH ER. Upon our arrival there, they drew blood again, even though we told them that the clinic had just sent them those results. If insurance refuses to cover the duplicate, same-day tests, we are in for a long battle. Then we are told that he has a stomach abcess that they somehow missed before. On top of that, NVH doesn't have the right equipment to fix it, so they ambulanced him to Kalispell Regional hospital (KRH). We tried to refuse the ambulance ride and take him ourselves, but they would not let us. Another bill? Also, before he was transferred, we begged them to let him sign papers so they would talk to his granddaughter and me. They refused, saying he would have to request that in person himself tomorrow. But now he is at KRH, so how do we do that? They operated on him at KRH and tell us to expect a 3-5 day hospitalization. They tell us that no one can stay with him past 5pm, but he was wheeled out of surgery and placed back in the ER, waiting for a real hospital room, so the granddaughter is allowed to stay with him until he gets moved (again.) We are utterly exhausted. My review on Thursday was five stars; now it is one. 6/11/20 I have been fighting Kalispell Regional Hospital for several weeks now to get decent care for myself. My senior friend landed in the hospital at North Valley on Monday and just got released today. The 2 hospital experiences were night and day, mostly thanks to the AMAZING nurse Larry S. at NVH. If only every medical professional met his high standard of care. read more

I tried to schedule a mammogram and was told by the person on the phone I must have a referral by a doctor to get one. I realize our healthcare system is broken but for someone without health insurance due to the increases in costs this is unacceptable. I have to pay out of pocket for everything so to have me see a doctor to say I can get a mammogram seems ridiculous. They say women over 40 years old should get one annually. I haven't had one for four years. I hadn't been to the doctor here yet but I won't be going to North Valley with their out dated unfair practices. Apparently they figure everyone has money to burn here. I gave a two star rating because a human answered the phone and told me the process. read more

My son had an anaphylactic reaction while we were on vacation. The nurses and doctors acted immediately to save his life. Everyone there was kind, professional and amazing in every way. Can't say enough good about these folks in what was a terrifying day for a mama. read more

I went to the whitefish hospital on Sunday July,7 around 1:30 to the ER. i had gotten an injury due to a riding lawn mower! Dr. Brockie and 2 other nurses came in to the room and asked what my pain level was. i told them an 8. DR. brockie replied with ...So if we punch you in the wound and take a wire brush and scrub it would that be an 8 ?? then continued with saying you might want to rethink you answer now! I will never go back up to whitefish hospital. They are trained and paid to care for there patients. Dr. brockie and the nurses one male with a beard and tattoos on his arms, the female was blonde younger heavy set. All three of them were rude and had no nice bone in them!!!! Next time i need assistance i will drive the extra miles to Kalispell hospital. i do not recommend this hospital to anyone !!!!! read more

I can't say enough good things about our experience. We were camping and had to bring my son here from a remote campsite because of abdominal pain. He needed an emergency appendectomy and we were so impressed by the kind, professional, and fast care we received. He was in and out from ER to recovery in less than 5 hours. Every staff member was exceptional. They even called hotels for us to get us a medical rate. I was prepared for an exhaustive frustrating experience and it was the complete opposite. I presented to the ER voluntarily w/my husband after sustaining a blow to the head following a fall down 3 stairs at our daughter's home. I was triaged expediently, all the staff and ER doctors were very skilled, thorough, caring, and friendly. Within a couple hours diagnostics were done and neurological consultations made. The magnitude of my injury was discussed with us, all our questions answered and the decision to transfer me by ambulance to Kalispell Regional Medical Center made. The transition went very smoothly. The EMTs kept me comfortable, reassured and informed until arriving in Kalispell. Whitefish is very lucky to have such wonderful care available to its residents and visitors! My family and I are very grateful. read more

This review should have been done along time ago but my blood still boils when it's brought up. 06/29/16 my daughter was born. My wife went into labor 06/28/16 later at night and we went to north valley. We originally went to the ER because we did not know maternity was on the other side. So my wife and I walk from the car to the ER door as she was in pretty severe pain at that point. They would not let us in the ER entrance and that we had to drive around to the other side of the hospital. ?????WTF So in pain my wife supported by me has to walk back to the car to drive around to the maternity. They should have gotten her a wheelchair and pushed her to the maternity ward. NOW that said about the worst ER I have ever been to the maternity ward is so far ahead of every other hospital I have ever been to. Amazing people at every step. Great service, care, knowledge and nurses were amazing. Rooms are great and the food is amazing. Five days later we left with a healthy baby. So NEVER go to the ER side on accident when you are in labor. read more

North Valley is the place to go!!! Over the last 20 years we have been on several occasions the staff defiantly puts the patient first! very professional and caring, been to ER several times, had day surgeries, xrays, CT scans MRIs even been a guest for several days... we have experienced the death of a family member there and not once were we ever treated with anything but respect. the care we have received at North Valley has always been the best from start to finish, the after care has been tops even the food is #1. the only bad thing is the café is not open on weekends.... read more

I'm a Veteran that had an accident in Glacier Nat'l Park this last week in N. Montana. I was crossing a creek, slipped and fell and a Park Ranger patched me up and recommended I go to an emergency room and have it checked out. I called the North Valley Hospital to see if they served Veterans and in fact they did. We drove to the EMR of this hospital about twenty miles distant arriving about 7:00 p.m. They were very receptive and courteous and took us in right away. We had a nurse look at the wound and it was a pretty deep skin abrasion caused by the fall. I was shortly attended by Dr. Koperski, M.D. who quickly and efficiently looked at the injury and took care of the injury in good shape. He said I would be fine, and sent us on our way back to the park. Kudos to Dr Koperski and all of the attending staff that day. Their service was superb and they were all very cordial, friendly, efficient and professional. We then went back to the park and enjoyed the rest of our vacation there. Thanks also to the Dept. of Veterans Affairs in the state of Montana who stepped up and covered the costs of the EMR visit also. Great Hospital! The cafe is a secret. If you want a great lunch for cheap go here! You can get a good steak with fries and drink for less than $10. I usually get the Philly cheese and love it. Everything is fresh and most things are made to order. I've used the ER once for a cut in my throat. Doctors and nurses were nice and polite. I was in and out in a timely manner. read more
