I had two appointments at this women's health office: an initial consultation/wellness visit and a later appointment for an IUD replacement. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this practice, particularly for patients with a history of sexual trauma. At both visits, the front desk (Gaylen) experience was disappointing. I was not greeted warmly, communication felt abrupt, and I was repeatedly asked to complete paperwork electronically without much explanation or assistance. During my first appointment, there were unexpected issues verifying my insurance. I have used the same insurance with multiple specialists and providers without difficulty. The situation delayed my appointment by approximately 25 minutes, and I was asked to contact other medical offices myself to obtain information that I believed should have been accessible through standard verification procedures. My second visit was significantly more distressing. I had previously discussed with my gynecologist that providing a urine sample was a trigger for me due to past trauma. Despite this, I was informed immediately before my procedure that a pregnancy test would be required and that the appointment could not proceed without additional testing. This requirement had not been communicated to me beforehand. After speaking with the office manager and explaining my concerns, she was apologetic and ultimately confirmed that, because I already had an IUD in place, the procedure could move forward. I appreciated her willingness to reconsider the situation, but I was disappointed that my chart notes did not appear to have been reviewed before the issue escalated. I want to acknowledge the providers I worked with. Rachel was compassionate, validating, and made me feel heard during my initial visit. Ashley was also kind and professional during a very difficult procedure. Due to a combination of pain, anxiety, and emotional distress, the IUD insertion was ultimately unsuccessful. Ashley sought assistance from another provider and offered pain management options, but after approximately 45 minutes, I decided to stop the procedure because I was overwhelmed and in too much discomfort. My concerns are primarily with the administrative processes and lack of trauma-informed communication. Patients should be informed of testing requirements before arriving for procedures, and documented triggers and accommodations should be reviewed and respected. While I had positive experiences with the medical providers themselves, my overall experience with the office left me feeling unsupported and emotionally distressed. read more

I never actually was seen here, so this review is based on scheduling. I am (or would've been) a new patient. I scheduled an appt weeks ago for the first available, which wasn't until June 25. On June 22 I received a text to confirm my appt, which I did. The day before my appt (so two days after confirming) I got a phone call and was told my insurance is no longer accepted there. What?!! THE DAY BEFORE MY APPT. I asked when that happened and she said "Um I think the beginning of the month." Extremely frustrating to not be notified of this when the change happened AND after getting a text to confirm my appt! Now, after waiting weeks for this appt I need to find a new doctor and will probably have to wait several more weeks to be seen. What a horrible way to run a medical office. read more

The ONLY thing good about this clinic is Chloe Wood, M.D.!! I wish I could just pay her directly for the 1-2 hours she was there to deliver my baby and administer postnatal care. I have struggled almost every step of the way from my first pregnancy test to a year after my son was born, we continue to have problems with these services. I wish I could give Zero Stars to North Valley Women's Care AS WELL as Valley Perinatal Services. From my first ultrasound, we got surprise medical charges because in the room, the MA or tech don't explain monetarily what is going on. They completely fail to explain that the 3D imaging is optional AND insurance wont cover it! We were never given a choice from the first ultrasound, they just performed it and gave us the pictures. We had no idea that it is not covered, that insurance wouldn't pay for it, and that we didn't need it. The only reason why we knew going into a second ultrasound appointment to make sure they didn't perform the 3D ultrasound was because of the surprise bill from the first one, and the research we did on our own. No one ever told us at any point. The front desk ladies failed multiples times to take my old insurance off of my account, even when I specified to them it was inactive and to take it off as an option completely. They didn't successfully remove my inactive insurance until I asked them for a THIRD time. Once you get billed, North Valley Women's Care no longer is who you have to deal with. They don't tell you that all of your billing goes through a completely different organization. They do not do billing in-house. You have to then start keeping track of another organization called Valley Perinatal Services. Their manager is curt, and rarely returns your phone calls, and the two women who answer the phone never know what is going on when you call them. No one documents notes in your account, so when a problem arises, you have to explain multiple times because the problems do not get resolved in a single phone call. When we understood that all payments would through Valley Perinatal Services, we set up a payment plan through them. 2 months goes by, and suddenly we are being notified that our bill is in collections?! I called immediately to ask why they had dropped our payment plan? After calling them multiple times over a period of several days, they finally figured out and explained that insurance had to reprocess the claims. But when they do that, Valley Perinatal doesn't reinstate the payment plan. No one told us, even though we were on the payment plan before, and they had our card information, they didn't reinstate the plan or call to confirm the reprocessing. So even though we had been on a payment plan, and paying down the bill, we should had been in good standing, they still sent us to collections because of processes on their end and changes to my account that I was never called and notified of. Once in collections, Valley Perinatal is no longer in charge of that bill, and there is nothing they can do to get that responsibility back. It gets sent to a collections agency. Fine. We call them (TSI) and sent up yet another payment plan. We are and continue to pay down that bill with them. Suddenly, I am receiving phone calls from Valley Perinatal Services... for the same bill. For reasons no one has been able to explain, they are suddenly in possession of that bill again, and are telling me I have payments past due and need to pay. I have called twice asking for the manager, and twice I have explained to the woman at the phone that I am currently paying the bill through TSI, we are on a payment plan, have been getting emails that our payments go through month after month, etc. I called last week regarding this, and have called this morning to let them know that I don't owe them any money, and after getting disconnecting, and have since gone to voicemail twice, I am now leaving this review. Because of all of this nonsense, I refuse to have anymore prenatal care from either of these organizations, and you shouldn't either! read more

I had been a loyal customer/patient since 2022. Last fall when I was pregnant with our second, and then shortly after miscarried at six weeks, I begged for them to let me in for a blood test to confirm that the hCG was not at a healthy level. We conducted the blood test immediately however they did not call me back with the results for over a week. I tried messaging and calling them several times during that week, despite receiving immediate care and support at a different office. I will not be returning because I was not handled appropriately for my situation, and there was no care or concern for how I was feeling with the news they even shared when they did call me back. This office is way too busy, and cares more about their aesthetics office than they do the women in their OB/Gyn office. read more

What normally is a routine exam every year that's very cut and dry. Very simple. You get the results back every year the same I don't know what happened this year, but it is very concerning that an office doesn't give you results and you have to wait almost 4 weeks to get them. You have to call for them and when you do, you have to speak to five different people in a day just to get a results back it's concerning whether it's a good result or a bad result you should have the same priority not everyone is there to see the doctor because they're pregnant and maybe they prioritize that, but it is very sad that the lack of care has fallen in the past year read more

One of my doctors referred me to North Valley Women's Care - Gynecologist after I moved here last year. I am so grateful that she did. This care facility has wonderful customer service, staff and doctors. After a mammogram, I came in for two follow up breast ultrasounds with Cameron. I always feel comfortable and I'm impressed at how clean the office and the examination rooms are. The ultrasound lubricant is warmed. Dr. Kinsler listened to my daughters symptoms and discussed her pain and options. She not one time made her feel like she didn't believe the pain she was experiencing. Her care and sweet personality made us feel so comfortable and we trusted in her plan for surgery and medication change. We have nothing but great things to say about Dr. Kinsler and her staff. We did have a little bit of a difficult time getting through to speak to someone by phone in the beginning but once her patient portal was set up the communication greatly improved. I don't usually leave reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience. I have a lot of respect for Dr. Melissa Austin and the work she does, which makes this even more disappointing to write. During a recent appointment, I came in experiencing significant pain, severe sleep deprivation, and anxiety--on top of concerns about not feeling my baby move for two days prior. As a first-time mom, this was incredibly overwhelming. I was expecting to see Dr. Austin, but she never came in. No explanation was given at the time. Instead, I was approached by a nurse or tech, who had some attitude, about completing a gestational diabetes test using a glucose drink--despite the fact that, due to my prior surgical/medical history, I physically cannot tolerate it. This is part of my medical history that had already been discussed, and there are alternative approaches that could have been considered. In that moment, I felt dismissed, unheard, and honestly labeled as difficult for advocating for myself. The following day, when I called to follow up, I was told that she had to leave for an urgent C-section during my appointment. As someone who also works in the medical field, I understand emergencies happen--but the lack of communication, acknowledgment, or follow-up is what was most concerning. My biggest concern is a broader one: as a woman of color, this experience reflects a pattern I--and many others--have encountered in healthcare. Feeling ignored or dismissed when expressing valid concerns is not only frustrating, it can be dangerous. Patients deserve to feel heard, respected, and included in their care--especially during something as vulnerable as pregnancy. Again, I respect Dr. Austin, but this experience made it clear how important it is to have the right provider--someone who listens, communicates, and takes your concerns seriously. I hope this feedback encourages better communication and more patient-centered care moving forward. read more

I've used this practice for several years and it has went downhill. If you are pregnant, it is hard to get a hold of someone if you have questions, need to schedule an upcoming appointment, or simply need help/advice. I have sat in the waiting room over an hour past my scheduled appointment time on a couple occasions. Pregnancy is already stressful enough and sadly this practice added to that stress. The doctors do seem to care, but you can tell that their time is limited and schedules are very full. read more

This place is absolutely horrible!! Please please please do not go here!! I have no idea why she has five stars!! I went into her office and she scheduled me for an appointment and didn't tell me what the procedure was and she did a biopsy and drained my cyst while I was completely awake and I was in excruciating pain, screaming at the top of my lungs and she did not care, she has zero sympathy, I had a metal rod shoved up me and twisted around, and I was literally screaming at the top of my lungs and excruciating pain, and she just kept going with a smile on her face and after the procedure, she just plugged me up with some tissue and walked out. Didn't even ask me if I was OK or anything didn't even come back to check on me, besides opening the door telling me to leave. Eeron is a horrible unsympathetic person and she shouldn't be in the medical field. She left me on the table with my legs still in the straps, crying in tears of pain and she didn't even care at all. And then she wants me to go back for a hysterectomy?! I don't trust her at all!!!!!!!! She was testing me for ovarian cancer, and didn't even tell me that until AFTERRRR the test! WHAT KIND OF "doctor" does that?! It's almost like she was enjoying, hurting me. She did not care that I was bawling my eyes out in pain. She is the worst doctor I have ever had experience with, and I beg all of you to not go to her either or she will probably hurt you too!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!! Do not do it!! You WILL regret it!! If I didn't like my OBGYN there so much I would stop going here. The front staff never answers their phones. I've had to call on repeat 2 months ago to get the appointment I have on Monday. Today, one of the front staff called me to confirm my Monday appointment. When I answered the phone I had to wait for her to finish a conversation she was having with someone else before she would acknowledge me. When she said she was calling to confirm my appointment I said yes, the she told me to fill out my paperwork before I get there and then hung up on me. Failed to inform me I was anemic throughout my entire pregnancy until 30 weeks when my hemoglobin hit 6.8, even though they were doing regular lab work in the office to check monthly. I kept complaining of my symptoms including dizziness, feeling faint, inability to stand for long, shortness of breath etc and OB told me this was normal. It's not. When I called her out on failing to tell me I was anemic she said "oh some people's baseline for iron is just low so I didn't think it was an issue"... um what? Lol. You're either anemic or not. Referred me to a place that took weeks for me to get seen, ended up having to go to hospital (Abrazo - OB's preferred hospital - which was TERRIBLE) Only ordered 3 infusions and told me I didn't need any more iron. Hematologist completely disagreed but OB didn't budge. Also failed to inform me of B12 deficiency and thyroid imbalance. I lost my job because of all of this and ended up with no maternity leave. One of the ultrasound techs was extremely aggressive because my baby didn't want to turn over in the womb and she repeatedly hit me in the stomach with the ultrasound wand very hard. I was later told this is extremely abnormal behavior. The patient portal does not work so you can't view your own lab results. Honestly I think they have more patients than they can handle - you seldom can find parking or seating on any day/time. I don't think that's normal, and it's led to them missing things in my case. Had medical assistant outright tell me she's so busy she forgot about me. Happened a few times. Tells me they care more about the $$ than quality care, you or your baby. read more

Doctors are good, front desk is pleasant but there seems to be an issue with referral coordination and communication. I have been waiting weeks, going back and forth trying to see where my referral is being as patient as possible. But after multiple calls, unanswered voicemails, mixed information I chose to speak to Toni, the office manager. I explained everything start to finish and it felt like she didn't even bother to listen because she said that there wasn't anything they could do-contradicting everything everyone has been saying to me or doing for the last couple weeks. Finally I got my point across but since I have already been doing all the work that they should have been doing, I asked for the number to where my referral was sent and hung up. I had a horrific experience here. Dr Chloe Wood did not explain my surgery to me at the hospital while waiting to go to the OR, or provided discharge instructions post op. I had to call the office manager to get these and waited all day for a call back that ultimately never came. After calling back several times, I asked the office manager, Crystal, what surgery I received a she told me the completely wrong information (I found out at my post op appointment) when I tried to express my concerns to Dr. Chloe Wood she became upset and refused to take any accountability saying that she explained this to me, not at my pre-op appointment, as she declined to see me on that appointment, but the one prior-which would have been 4 months prior to my actual surgery. Dr. Chloe Wood refused to hear my concerns and walked out of the appointment. I was still left with questions after that appointment as she ended up walking out. Horrible communication. This was the worst healthcare experience of my life. My OBGYN missed multiple appointments, and when it came time for delivery, they didn't even show up -- I saw a doctor for maybe 60 seconds. The front desk staff is rude, dismissive, and impossible to work with. Billing is a nightmare. Crystal, who handles billing, was one of the most unprofessional and cold individuals I've ever encountered in a medical setting. Even with a small balance, you'll be harassed and denied care. I came here with my second pregnancy in 2023, and saw Dr. Reise. Things went well and she delivered my baby. I've gotten pregnant twice since then and both have ended in a miscarriage. The last one was the end of March. I had an ultrasound march 20, and they had let me know the baby passed. She had asked if i wanted to testing / labs that day, to see why i'm having multiple miscarriages. I told her mentally i wasn't up to it that day and just wanted to go home so she said to call back and schedule. I tried to make an appointment and now they're telling me to go to another OB. I'm very confused because I just went there recently and we were both very kind to each other so i'm just shocked. Wife and I have been coming here for the past 5 months for our first pregnancy. Wife found Dr. Melissa Austin on Google and gave her a shot. She has not disappointed. Dr. Austin is very patient, personable and professional. The ladies at the front are also very helpful and kind. Although most doctors offices try to get you in and out, we did not get this feeling when we come for our visits. We also have had pleasant experiences with the medical assistant, Crystal H. and the ultrasound tech, Stephanie. This is an all women clinic which was appealing to wife as she felt more comfortable with this. The clinic as a whole is very clean for the most part. The only note would be to clean the upholstery for the waiting room chairs as there are some noticeable unpleasant stains; or just replacing the chairs with some that don't have stains or are more stain resistant. These stains are not enough to remove a whole star, but I would minus half-a-star. Overall, would highly recommend this clinic! 4.5 stars rounded up to 5! read more

Love all of the doctors and nurses here but the front desk staff is very unorganized. As someone who has worked front desk reception jobs in medical settings for 2 decades it's pains me to see it. They are also never on time for any appointments and I am sure it is because of the front desk, it all starts with them. If you don't have an efficient front staff it messes up the entire clinic flow. If you are even 3 minutes late though they make you feel terrible and like you need to reschedule although they'll make you wait an hour past your appointment no matter if you're on time or a couple minutes late. You can stand there behind their closed glass doors while they blatantly ignore you while on their phones or chatting it up with each other or eating. Also feel like every time we come we have to fill out new forms even though you fill them out online before the appointment. It's all very frustrating and seriously making me want to switch doctors and go elsewhere honestly. read more

I have been using this facility for breast care, and I cannot speak highly enough. I am being watched for a breasts mass, and I appreciate the professional and personal care that I have received. I was able to visit my doctor and receive her diagnosis and recommendation for future care, but also under the same roof, I was able to receive the needed ultrasound; without needing an appointment to receive results, I receive a call and recommendation for the next ultrasound. NVWC continues to keep track of my need without requiring me to unnecessary visits. From the staff taking calls, to the women behind the desk when I arrived, to the professional who examined me to the women who perform the procedures , EVERY single one of the is a gem! read more

My wife opted for Doctor Melissa Austin as her OBY/GYN but after first appointment itself we decided to change the doctor. There is no second thought that north valley care is high tech with everything organized and with latest infrastructure. Staff was nice too. Ultrasound staff girl was very nice and we were happy to select this care. But it all broke our trust when we met doctor for first appointment. She was rude and not at all courteous. She is too straightforward and never tried to comfort my wife who is going through her first pregnancy. Moreover while doing pam smear, doctor Austin pulled the bed so firmly without any heads-up to my wife that my wife legs got hurt. My wife didn't tell anything there but she told me when we were back in car after appointment. We went after seeing the 4+ stars in google but our experience was not at all appealing. We would have gladly continued here if Doctor was even little considering while our first visit. read more

At every appointment, they wait for me to arrive, let me fill out important info then either not tell me the dr is out and won't be taking me because they're playing on their phone or tell me I'll be seeing someone else and it'll be about x amount of time! HORRIBLE front desk! This has happened at three of my appointments! They do not care about you at all! Or your time! You are just a number here. I had such high hopes for this place and was searching for a local obgyn that would take my concerns seriously. I mentioned my concerns to one of the doctors there (Austin) about hormonal issues plus the symptoms related to it. I basically was told that they don't do hormonal testing and they can't test me to just diagnose a "mood disorder" when pcos and hormonal symptoms aren't just because it's a "mood disorder". She also told me she'd do some "research" to see if she can conduct this sort of blood work. How unprofessional and dismissive. Instead I was thrown on some heavy BC that is potentially dangerous and unhealthy for someone that has pcos with no additional testing done. I went to another doctor, gynecologist (not an ob), that was willing to do testing and lo and behold I ended up having the diagnosis from the symptoms I mentioned that this doctor completely dismissed. Don't go here for any hormonal and pcos related concerns, you will not be taken seriously at all. Even if they couldn't treat the symptoms, they could've referred me out to someone who could. Instead they just dismissed me instead. For any person that have hormonal/pcos related symptoms you are better off seeing a gynecologist (instead of the obstetrician side) and/or an endocrinologist that specializes in this instead. It's already hard enough for a woman or person with female related issues to be taken seriously for any health issue and this was the most disappointing visit out of every doctor's place I've been to. I had an appointment with them at 11:15 I called at 11:15 telling them that I couldn't find the building The girl on the phone gave me the correct address, I told her exactly where I was and she knew the location of where I was. Apparently I was a building to the west of her but she didn't tell me that info. I could of walked over there and easily made it on time. She knew the location yet all she told me was the correct address and there was a 15 minute grace Period and "If you're not here within 15 minutes you have to reschedule you" That was her response, Nothing like "I'm sorry I can help you find it, you are really close" or "do you see the building next to ours in the back.....". I literally ran from one of the parking lots to the other parking lot to find the building, finally a delivery driver helped me find the right building. I ran in there at 1132, two minutes after the grace period. Four of them were standing behind the desk looking at each other, they looked at me, nobody was in the lobby, they told me sorry you have to reschedule. I said to the girl I think I might have cancer, and I'm 2 minutes past my grace period, please can you get me in with Michelle. "Unfortunately we have to reschedule you, you didn't do your online paperwork either." I didn't realize not signing a few papers could do this, I'm not a new patient. I asked to speak to the manager and she was conveniently on lunch that I could wait if I wanted to. I got very upset and stormed out. My husband called the manager immediately after I left and talked to the office manager (the one that couldn't talk to me) and fed him some type of BS about having to get all the patients in a timely manner blah blah blah, because of the other patients, when we all know it is never about the patients waiting! the point is I called and told them I would be a few minutes late. I can understand maybe 5-10 minutes late but when you are two minutes late, communicating with staff and clearly in tears over it one must show empathy and compassion for patients, very disappointed in this facility. I am an acute crisis nurse, and I know if that would've been one of my patients who was crying and two minutes late it wouldn't even have been a second thought for my staff to let them come in. You have to have empathy when you work in health care. Not people that can't wait to get to their lunch break with a drug rep or anything else. We are people with sincere issues. Had high hopes for the obgyn. Unfortunately the care we received wasn't the best. The front desk workers are extremely rude and make it extremely obvious they don't want to be there. We had Chloe Woods as our doctor, the first time we met her she made us feel comfortable but any other appointments going forward were all uncomfortable and EXTREMELY rushed. I'm a high risk pregnancy and never felt like I was able to ask about any concerns I had regarding my pregnancy. Everything always seems so rushed and off during my appointments. I wished our experience at north valley women's center was better, but unfortunately I would not recommend this place to anyone. Unless you like to feel rushed and uncared for. read more

I've had nothing but the best experience with dr. Melissa Austin and her entire staff. We recently moved here from California and I was super nervous to switch doctors so late in my pregnancy after I've had the same doctor for my last two. She's been nothing but compassionate. Some of the questions you have while pregnant feel a bit awkward to discuss with a new doctor. But she's been so kind, explained things thoroughly and made sure I understood. Even offered to do other things to make sure I felt at ease. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone and everyone. read more

I have had some of the worst experiences with OBGYNS. This place has changed all of my fears from past experiences. The whole team is so welcoming and kind. I came in feeling unsure and anxious. I'm leaving in such a different mind set. Dr. Wood came in so friendly and addressed all of my concerns. She explained the next steps and explained how to move forward. I really cannot thank them enough, they care. You don't see that almost at all these days. Most places try to get you in and out as fast as possible but here they make you feel like a person. Anyone who is looking for a new OBGYN, needs one for their daughter, I highly recommend. They have a well kept office and everything is clean. read more
