My 12 year old Honda Fit was in need of some major TLC--low mpg (28 mpg), gas smell, erratic acceleration, and a variety of engine noises--and I had been dissatisfied with other service providers. Half a day after bringing it in to NWSC, I had a car that purred, made no noises, not a whiff of gasoline, and ran like new. After my first full tank of gas, I calculated I was getting 34.2 mpg (it was interstate driving) which was around 35 mpg when the car was brand new. I couldn't believe it--I will be getting over 50 miles more per tank of gas. The price was significantly lower than my previous place (I checked the itemized receipt against an older one where some of the items were the same such as oil change). This is the kind of place, where you go if you need "Something other than (quick service)". Done to your vehicle. The original owner of this shop, started in the 1950's. His son started working under him, then took over the shop in the 1970's. He also added another employee. The parts runner, service manager? Owned and ran a shop for thirty? Plus years. When he closed down his shop the News Sentinel wrote an article on him. Frank Grey praised him for running an old fashioned service station. The employees he has hired? I have seen them working on Volvos Jag wires? With knowledge of using different electrical computer hook ups. *Note* they are also certified to work on the latest electrical vehicles. . Mostly remembering to work with electrical gloves and boots. One time I had this shop drop down the gas tank on my van to replace a filler nozzle. After dropping down a 35-gallon tank It could be done. Lastly, you will not read any advertising on this place! They usually are overrun with vehicles by 7:45 AM. Lots of older people, go there have owned cars for years and have had a lot of experience with them. I award them a 5 star ratting. To help them stand out against lesser shops. I heard about North Wells from a close friend so I took my baby(car), this was my first time going there they was finish with my baby so quick and their work was amazing, my engine light had been on every sense I got my car it been in the shop twice before now but light was still on once North Wells got my car(baby) the light is off car runs great now so if anyone need their car repaired for any job big or small check them out, best repair shop out here now they care for you as a customer and they care for your car. I don't write a lot of reviews but North Wells Service Center was so good that I felt I wouldn't be doing them justice if I didn't get the word out. I'm from out of town, and, while visiting my family in the area, my car started having issues. Myself and my old man tried to fix it but there were still a few problems so I brought it in. Turns out, we had forgotten that the check engine light needed to be reset. The staff explained how to do this, and gave the car a look over anyway. At the end, they never charged me. If you're looking for integrity, this is the place. You truly do not get this kind of service in this day and age, and I can honestly say I appreciate it. Thank you! read more

Mitch was so helpful! While visiting Ft Wayne, the power steering went out in my car. I called North Wells Service Center as soon as they opened. They told me they wouldn't be able to fix my car for a few days, but when I told them I was from out of town, they went out of their way to fix my car in one day so I wouldn't have to make another trip. I am so grateful for them! It was affordable, they were kind, and didn't try to sell me on repairs that I didn't need. I would definitely take my car here again. read more

I sent a email to this business's web site late Sunday night asking if I could come by sometime Monday to have a pre-purchase inspection done on a used car that I was planning to look at that same Monday. I was coming up from Louisville Ky. So sure enough at 9am Monday while traveling to Ft. Wayne I get a call from the owner letting me know he had two service techs out and would be too short handed to do my inspection that day. But he also had two Names & numbers & addresses for Auto repair shops that he recommended and were capable of doing my inspection. What GREAT service this was, I am a stranger 4 hours away and he takes time to call me with 2 other repair shops to refer me to. He saved my day and I did buy the car. I got this bushing "replaced" 6 months ago. Long story short, I took my Malibu to Goodyear Auto Service, and they could not do my alignment due to a bad bushing. Well, I made Goodyear show me exactly what needed to be done. They showed me, and I needed a new bushing. I am leaving town in 2 days (Monday the 31st) and driving 1,500 miles. Mitch and his crew will not be in the office until Wednesday (the 2nd). I had two options. Wait it out and MAYBE get it done for free, but be in the hole $400 because I would be 2 days late to my destination. My other option was to do it myself and risk the warranty. Verdict. I cannot afford to lose 2 days of driving to my destination. Thank you O'Reilly Auto Parts for getting me a new bushing. Thank you to John and Evan for replacing my bushing. I am not sure what North Wells Center did to "new" bushing, but it looks like someone took a "tool" to get the "new" bushing back in place. We used a mallet... read more
