My family and I pulled in with our truck and light weight trailer. On our arrival it looks very clean and spacious for all campers. We chose a pull through site which makes life easier for us to setup. This park have full hookups for all your needs and kid/family friendly. Amenities they had were washers/dryers, bathrooms with showers, playground, easy accessible parking lot for guests, clubhouse, and excellent customer service. Also if you dont have a Trailer/RV, looks like they also have cabins they rent out so be sure to ask. This park is clean and one of the prettiest RV Parks we've been to. We will be coming back and staying every time we go to Whidbey Island. read more

This RV park is right across the street from the wonderful Deception Pass State Park, with its crazy-scenic bridge, beaches, hiking trails, and lakes. At the State Park's West Beach area, you can be strolling on a sandy/rocky saltwater beach and then literally 1 minute later, you can be swimming (or fishing) in a freshwater lake. It's the weirdest, coolest thing! We saw seals, Bald Eagles, Merganzers, and an 800-year-old Douglas Fir tree on a single short hike here. We're hoping to see the beavers they say like to live in Cranberry Lake one of these days, but they've been elusive so far. The State Park has campsites, but it's more for rustic camping, not a great RV park. There are two small towns (Anacortes and Oak Harbor) 10 miles away that offer shopping (Safeway, Walmart, Home Depot, fast food, etc.), but it still feels rural. There's a marina down the road a little way, and there are whale-watching boat tours nearby. This RV park is well-kept and tidy. I saw someone on some review or other complaining (and that and a couple other petty complaints are what inspired me to write ~this~ review, as I don't write many of them, and this is my first on Yelp) about the park's brown grass, and I had to laugh. Did they not know grass doesn't stay green in the height of summer--especially during a drought? If that's all they had to complain about with this place, I'd say they're doing pretty well. LOL The bathrooms are clean, there's a fenced dog park, and they sell propane, firewood, and ice at the office. The office staff are very friendly and welcoming, too. They meet visitors outside with clipboards in hand when it's busy, so that drivers don't even need to step outside their rigs. Most of the spaces aren't huge, but from what I could see, there's only one very small area where they're a little squished, in this area that's at the center of a wheel shape, where the spaces are the wheel's spokes, but it's not like you're on top of each other, and it's not a big deal IMHO. There aren't that many trees, but I'd rather not have any around my rig, actually, and it stays blessedly cool here even in summer, so lack of shade really isn't an issue anyway. The park has a large gazebo and a small club house space that groups can reserve. And it's right across the street from where the Pacific Northwest National Scenic Trail crosses through. A 15 minute hike into the forest along that trail made me feel like I was in Middle Earth. So beautiful! We haven't fished in years, but we saw people fishing in the fresh-water lakes. One's a 5 minute walk away. And there are tide pools in the State Park, too, though that's a couple miles from the RV park, and not a place I want to walk to, as the main road that runs up and down Whidbey Island, State Road 20, can be pretty busy and narrow in that section. But in 5 minutes you can also walk out of the park, cross that road (there's a light with a crosswalk signal) and be in the State Park on a beautiful trail beside a lake with huge trees towering overhead and with the noise of the road forgotten. The Cranberry Lake trail leads you parallel to the lake and through the forest down to West Beach and a dune nature trail with interpretive signage. It's about a 3.8 mile walk round trip, and at the half-way point, there's a State Park camp store where you can get a drink and snack in summer and take a rest. I must say, though, that my favorite time to visit this place is in winter (We love it there so much that we've been there in all four seasons!). There's something so atmospheric about the gray cloud cover and the fog and the wildness of the sea. The hikes are just gorgeous then. There's just something about it, and I love it. If you run out of things to do nearby (HA!), you can take a short drive to visit the truly-charming towns of Langley, Coupeville (where "Practical Magic" was filmed), Mt. Vernon, or LaConner. There's a GREAT food co-op in Mt. Vernon that has amazing produce and gifts and a hot-food deli. It's like a mini Whole Foods. In any of these little towns, you can get an ice cream cone and stroll down old-fashioned downtown areas and window shop and people-watch. And in Langley, you may even spot a whale! The one bad thing I can say about this park is that there's sometimes noise from the navy jets that fly out of NAS Whidbey, which is maybe 5 miles away. That can get pretty loud during some weekdays, but the weekends are almost always no-fly times, and they have free earplugs in the office, if you need them to sleep. I just wore my noise canceling earphones and I was fine. There's also some noise from the two-lane road nearby, especially at rush hours or on busy summer weekends. But when visiting a beautiful place like this, who hangs out in their RV all the time anyway? Anyway...If you can't tell, I really love this place. It's definitely a well-deserved 5-star rating from us. read more

I've driven an RV across the country from New Hampshire to Georgia to California and up to Washington state, and numerous points in between, and this is my favorite park out of them all. This is a calm, clean comfortable park with a relaxed atmosphere. The deception pass and quarry pond state parks are literally across the street offering breath taking scenery and hiking. The park is well kept and well run by people who treat you like a person, not a number. While the area feels rural and relaxed, both Oak harbor and anacortes are just a few minutes away with everything you might want or need, so you get the best of both worlds here. This is a terrific park to stay in, and you and your family will enjoy it! The sites are clean as are the bath houses too. Its spacious and quiet. As a fairly new member of the RV community, I'm still learning the ins (and outs) of all things RV park. In fact, North Whidbey RV Park was the very first time I'd done the full hookups thing with my new trailer. And the only thing I can say about this place is: where have ya been all my life? It was a warm summer weekend when I visited as part of a group of over 30 Rpods there for an annual rally. They had set aside an entire row of the park for us, which was pretty cool once everyone arrived and set up their Pods. There was also a large outdoor group space where we had a couple of lovely campfire gatherings, and a semi-enclosed gazebo where we spent the final night because (of course, as usual in the PNW) it decided to rain. I found the sites to be a good size, at least for my small (18') trailer. Each site had a small grassy area with a picnic table, which was a nice feature. Our row also included a large bathroom with showers, and it was kept clean throughout the weekend. The park staff were very nice and helpful, and I was excited to see they offered propane fills there which was a big help. For other needs, there's a well-stocked mini mart (try the smoked salmon dip!) about a block away, and Oak Harbor is about a 15 minute drive. read more

We've stayed a a few RV parks in the past couple of years as we were late bloomers getting into the RV life. This park allows easy access to Deception Park, Annacortes, Coupeville, and all of Whidbey Island. Each day, we were less than an hour away from the next big adventure. The free air show a couple times a week from the Naval base was a nice touch. The park hosts are some of the sweetest kindest people that have ever existed. The park during our gust had many spots that were occupied by people that were on extended stays. Whether it be due to work, long vacation, or loss of house, this was an excellent destination. read more

My husband & I are currently enjoying the beautiful surroundings & amenities at N Whidbey RV. There is so much to see and do in the immediate vicinity. The awe inspiring beauty of Deception Pass Bridge and it's massive state park surrounds the RV park along with the beautiful Cornet Bay across the street. This amongst so much more makes exploring on nature walks, canoeing, boating, hiking... a hop, skip & a jump away. Almost literally. You can't help but enjoy all that comes with this location. North Whidbey RV Park is clean and the spacious campsites are well maintained by the conscientious staff. We've had the pleasure of getting to know almost all of them. In this day and age, we find it uncommon in our travels, to find people that care and take their jobs seriously. Which always entail following the rules & guidelines of an establishment for the comfort & safety of all who patronize a business. The staff here are friendly, professional, incredibly kind and... brace yourself, they follow the rules to a T. (Insert gasp here.) Sometimes people may feel fudging the rules a little isn't a big deal for THEIR own "comfort". However, the rules are made for the overall experience of ALL to feel safe & enjoy the location that sticks to the rules. Sadly, this manages to ruffle some feathers for those that fail to consider the enjoyment of others, basically self absorbed & see things only from their own perspective. Now having said that, there is always 2 sides of an experience to see the bigger picture. There was 2- 1 star reviews left by 2 people from the same party describing events that were incredibly untruthful. In fact spun to paint a narrative. @Clysta F. & Emmy mentions the dog park and the "lady" across from the dog park... I take my dog to said dog park upward of 3+ times a day. On the day Clysta mentions, I arrived at the dog park when these kids were already there. They were throwing a football to each other in the fenced-in dog park. They did not have a dog. Mind you, there are large open, beautifully maintained grass areas on either side of the dog park. But these kids chose to be in the fenced dog area. Even after I took my dog in to throw the frisbee for him, they stayed. This did make it awkward to play with my dog. When the ball went over the tall fence, the boy climbed over it to retrieve it rather than walk out the gate. When he attempted to do so a 2nd time the aforementioned lady told him not to climb the fence & pointed out the obvious, they were in the dog park, "for the dogs". The boy (I'd say teenager) disrespectfully told her that he, "identifies as a dog". He was incredibly disrespectful from then on. They then left the fenced dog park & played where they should've been playing all along, the side lawns of the fenced area. Then another young woman & a little boy joined them, & they came back into the dog park (sans a dog) where the young man attempted to climb the fence AGAIN. For a 2nd time, he was told not to climb the fence. He then responded, "I can do anything I want too!" This is when our lady's husband came out of their trailer & clarified to him not to do that again. When they learned that they were speaking to one of the employees of the park, said party of 4 tucked tail & left immediately. So the lady across the way from the dog park is in fact, "a lady" but one that stands by the rules. Her husband carries many jobs around the park who also stands by the rules. In a short period of time, I've grown rather fond of this lady & her gentleman. So no need to be weary of the lady across from the dog park unless you break the rules. As for the "story" regarding being charged for dog poop left on their campsite... This too is a rule. I personally am known at a few campsites, as the "Poop Nazi" (proud of it!) because there's nothing that irritates me more than people who do not pick up after their dogs. The caveat in Clysta's case... Apparently unbeknownst to her, there are surveillance cameras all around the park for the safety & again comfort for all who stay at this lovely RV Park. So this "picture" that she states was "supposedly" taken, was in fact surveillance. The $25 charge was legitimate and warranted. I do not have patience for people that spin stories to fit their agenda & especially to leave a one star rating that is not valid nor remotely true. Ultimately what they do is paint a false picture that may cause people to miss out on enjoying a reasonably priced camping experience that comes with the surrounding amenities & beauty, ultimately a safe environment & lovely memories to be made with their children who would love this place. So if you are reading this to gain a perspective on whether or not to try out this establishment, I highly encourage you do so. You won't be disappointed, unless you don't like following rules & guidelines that ultimately benefit you and all who stay and/or you have a child that identifies as a fence climbing dog. read more

We stayed here for 2 weeks and might go for a month next time. The best thing about this park is the location - literally across the street from Deception Pass State Park, 1 mile from the Deception Pass bridge and walking distance from some good fishing spots. The park itself was clean, sites were comfortable, not too small, mostly level. Clean bathrooms, decent wifi. It got pretty hot while we were there so a pool might have been nice, but other than that we enjoyed it thoroughly. Met some nice neighbors too! And the nightly community gathering on West Beach in Deception Park for the sunset is something I will always remember. read more

Not kid friendly. We stayed here for my nieces Allstar tournament for 3 days. Campsites are right on top of each other. Another guest yelled at my children for being in the dog park with our dogs because one of them climbed the fence to grab his football. This woman reported my children to the office for being disrespectful to her. This same woman yelled at me and reported us for having our dog off leash because my 21lb frenchie ran out of our trailer which took me all of 15 seconds to capture and put a leash on. To top it off we were charged $25 because someone reported that we didn't pick up 1 pile of dog poop. When I told the office staff that I diligently picked up every pile right after they occurred (we are talking still warm) he informed me that he had a picture. I asked him if he actually had a picture of my dog pooping and he said no, just poop and asked if I wanted to see it. Seriously? No proof that it came from my dog, only the fact that it was near our camper. I told him there was another dog running around in the area off leash that could have done it and he said he did not see that dog. So he didn't see anything from us only took some angry ladies word for it, the same lady that told my children that she knows the owner. We will never go back. All the other guests we met were quite pleasant but look out for the lady across from the dog park! read more

My husband and I celebrated our second anniversary the weekend of May 7-9 2021. We absolutely loved the Whidbey RV Park and cabins. This place is one of the cleanest, friendliest family oriented places. The staff and the couple running it are super sweet. There is a laundry facility , bathroom and shower room , a fenced in pet area and a playground for kiddos to play at, there's fire pits as well and big lots to park your RV or Motorhome. Our cabin blew me away. The inside is completely made out of wood. It's cozy and definitely a homey feeling. The cabin is great for a small family or a couple wanting to get away for a couple of days. There is Deception Pass State Park directly across the street from the RV park and other parks near by. We had a great stay at this park. Not sure what other people mean by sites too tight. I felt they were standard for a typical RV park. We had plenty of room. Bathrooms/showers were clean and well kept. The park is close to the road but I didn't feel it was overly noisy but we were in row B. I'm sure if you were lined against the road it would be louder but I felt the park was quiet and pleasant. We heard an occasional jet one day but haven't heard them since. We loved having the dog park to let the dogs off the leash. It's nothing fancy but nice to have. I did not have any issues with the wifi. I actually commented that it worked better for me than most parks I go to but that usually depends on how close you are to the router and how many people are using it. Pretty typical of any park. Overall we enjoyed our stay and everyone was friendly and helpful. read more

This place is amazingly beautiful. Location, location location is everything. A short walk away from Deception Pass State Park, Washington State's most visited park. The RV park itself is neat and clean, amenities have been updated. Large dog park on nicely groomed grass. Laundry room is clean and easily accessible. There is a guest lounge with kitchenette, games and books. A very nice cozy place just to hang out some. Each lot has a concrete fire pit and picnic table; clean and updated. RV pad is asphalt and in good shape with grass; no loose sand or dirt which is nice and helps keep your RV clean. Employees treat guests like family. The price is very affordable for what you receive on this RV park. It's charming. If we come to the Great NW again, we definitely would stay here again. read more

A+! This is gem of a find for RV'ers! This destination park is nestled on beautiful Whidbey Island, just across the Deception Pass bridge, and a short walk to the Puget Sound beaches. I was so impressed by how well the park is maintained and updated. The bathrooms are super clean (what a pleasant treat!). The sites (and, in fact, the whole park) are well-kept and surrounded by grass (not dirt). The staff are friendly and available. There is a cozy meeting room/game room (great for hanging out with other RV friends). There is a playground for your kiddos, and even a large fenced-in romping area for your doggie. There are cute cabins if your other friends what to meet you there! We had such a pleasant experience at NWRvP. A must-stay if you are visiting the great Pacific Northwest! read more

The comments about being close are true - they cram 2 RVs into spaces other campsites have 1 - example - the firepit of our neighbor was less than 15 feet from ours - so there is a lot of togetherness - if your neighbor's are nice - no problem - however, if they have kids, and pets, and friends, etc. etc. you get the picture. The area itself (Deception Pass) is a part of our country you should not miss. This campground is extremely convenient to the trail entrances and it's a hike to the beach if you're not driving. Able-bodied people can make it - but if you have any physical issues I would suggest a drive to the beach vs. walking. Last - I agree that the front desk people are very friendly - however, beware - an "assistant manager" lives on the site full time - and her husband "Mike" is not a nice person. He likes to yell at people for just about anything and if he perceives you to be breaking one of their numerous rules - he will definitely let you know it. So much so she had to call him back into their camper when he was going after our friend who was keeping her dog on the grass because the asphalt was too hot - Put a big damper on the stay. Also - be thoughtful about the amount of firewood you bring in - they will fine you for leaving any extra wood at the site for the next camper - AND they will fine you for leaving partially-burned wood in the firepit (so we were told). Who DOES that? Also - no outside carpets, no bikes, scooters, skates around the office or common area buildings, check out is 11:00 a.m. Vs what we have found to be the normal 1:00pm; can't park your bikes on the grass - only on paved areas, etc. etc. etc. Of the Good Sam sites we've enjoyed this is the most restrictive - least accommodating one in which we've stayed. In the future, we will opt for the national park campground next door - or boondoggle. read more

We started rv camping 5 years ago at North Whidbey Rv and immediately felt like family. Always clean and never issues with loud neighbors. Hiking trails right outside your door, with lake and ocean across the street to kayak or paddle board. We upsized to a bigger 5th wheel 2 years ago, and ended up leaving our unit as a 2nd home for 1.5 years. Clean, Handy laundry facilities and group fire pits/ clubhouse for get togethers and special events an asset!! The guests are great, the management is professional, helpful and always working for us to have a great experience. A great golf course next door very reasonably priced. My son and family stayed for a weekend in one of the cute cabins and they loved it!! The local island community has events almost every weekend all summer. Local fare, such as vegetables, hand made soaps, wood carvings to just name a few things kept us busy shopping. read more

We loved NWRV! We stayed there for about a month and enjoyed it very much. It's walking distance to deception pass state park, which we walked to almost every day. The staff is so friendly and always helpful! They have a gated dog run perfect for our golden retriever to stretch her legs when she wanted to chase the ball. Full laundry and showers along with club house that has a full kitchen. They even have a community gazebo and BBQ. The only draw back is slim to no cell service. They do have wifi, (it does run slow) but we were on vacation and if you go up to the dog run there is full service in that spot to make phone calls. Which is what we did when we had to. Problem solved. We truly loved the park and the people in it, we can't wait to come back again. Soon! read more

We are camping there now. Now the PROs and CONs PROs: Near Deception Pass, has full hook-ups, clean, each site has fire pit CONs: Sites close together, slow WiFi, mid-August grass is yellow straw and dust is everywhere, We stayed here to have a mixed tent/5th wheel family week. Tent sites back-up to the road so not quiet, nor private; No refund to tent campers. Never saw anyone in tent sites, although perhaps they are used when Deception Pass State Park is full. If you are in the area, try Pioneer Trails RV (in near-by Anacortes) where we spent 4 weeks this summer. Much better experience. read more

This review is for the camping experience at North Whidbey RV Park. We were desperate for a place to stay on a Saturday night in 2015 due to the fires ripping through the North Cascades National Park where we'd planned to spend the weekend on our way from Vancouver to Portland. A space was available here and we jumped on it. The location is nice. A short distance to Deception Pass and close to Oak Harbor. There are five tent sites rather close to one another at the edge of the property. The problem was not how close we were to our neighbors (but that could have been bad because there was only room to set up our tiny backpacking tent about ten feet from the tents on either side) but how close we were to the road. The road is about twenty feet from the tents and very well traveled in the early morning by large trucks hauling boats into the state park. We both woke up around 5:30 am and couldn't get back to sleep because of the noise. All that said, the people and facilities were nice. If you have earplugs, bring 'em, and everything will be ok. read more

So close to the beach, the awe inspiring Deception Pass bridge, Whidbey salt and freshwater fishing. This park also gets a lot of sun, which we love. This park failed me badly. The space provided was too small to get into without driving over their grass - which is not allowed. My rig was within their guidelines. I didn't want to be charged for driving over the grass so I was unable to park. The park will not provide a refund - even though I could not park. Extremely disappointing. It's terrible to have people like this in our community. read more

We camped here this past July and enjoyed our stay. The price was pleasantly surprising for a full hookup campsite in the middle of the summer. The campground has a great location, close to Deception Pass and just a short drive to Oak Harbor or across to Fidalgo Island. The campground was clean, each site had its own picnic table and fire ring, and our dogs loved the fenced in pet area. As other reviewers posted, the sites are small, but we've stayed at campgrounds with sites much smaller and close together. We have an 18' travel trailer pulled by a Jeep Liberty so we were able to fit just fine. Our neighbors, on the other hand, had a bigger rig and had to correct a few times to get into their spot. read more

We RV'd there June 23,24 2017. The manager was the worst, so politically incorrect. She accused my grandson of taking a play life sling off the boat in the play area , going so far as to tell my daughter, his mother, that he is a liar and very disrespectful . She then banned all the children from the boat. She also told her ,her other son was " the sad looking depressed one" . Then went to far to say she looked 14 yrs old. I suppose assuming she was a young welfare mother or something. Little did she know my daughter is a 4 point nursing student with 3 well behaved children who are also honors students and very involved in sports. In talking to some other patrons at the park who were of Hispanic decent, she told them" she liked their kind" at the time of their face to face reservation. What is wrong with this woman? I would love to talk to the owner. read more

The park is clean and the spaces are very close to each other without much space to park your tow vehicle. The restrooms/showers are clean, however there are only two male toilets for the entire park which are constantly occupied due to the tent camping in the park. The park advertizes wifi which is really a joke as each device you use needs an assigned user name and password. If you have a i-phone and tablet as example only one of them will be able to connect to the wifi. Even when connected to the wifi, it is so slow many sites timeout and never load, such as Facebook. The park states on their advertizing to visit them on Facebook, no chance of that while in the park. The park sits next to a busy highway and there is constant noise due to traffic. We camped in a 5th wheel and chose the park due it's location to some places we wanted to visit, if back this way again we would look for another RV park to stay at. read more

I gave 2 stars because the owner/manager was very friendly. The park sits at a corner of 2 very busy roads. It is near the base and the jets fly, or practice take off, landing about every 5-10 minutes from 8am to 11pm. It is so loud you can't talk or hear your TV. So, all day you have to stop.......talking, or TV. You can't use briquets to BBQ, need to use propane, or the BBQ they provide, which doesn't really work. It wasn't relaxing, and I wish we had been told about the planes before we booked. The sites are closer than they look on the photo and we could not open our canopy because the RV next to us was to close. Deception Pass is beautiful, the Island is beautiful. WiFi is really iffy, touch and go, mostly can't load. We left a day early, after one night. read more
