When you walk in there are two iPads to sign in, once signed in you take a seat in the double sided waiting room until they call you. The wait to be called was brief and the receptionist was polite, however the directions thereafter were not clear. I was told to go through the second door on the left (which was actually on the right) and go to the back reception area to get checked in; the ladies at the back reception area sent me to another lady in the front that was not very nice. She told me "you're in the wrong place," and pointed and belted out "over there!" The intake waiting room for procedures was a few feet away so I stepped in and made myself comfortable. A few other people waiting in the intake area told me that they had the same unclear directions. Once in the back it was smooth sailing. Janette was my nurse, Jim was the anesthesiologist, and Doctor Myers performed my procedure, and I must say they were all so amazing! Outside of the rude receptionist, Northeast Digestive Center is an amazing well maintained and clean facility. FYIMarch is Colon awareness month.

Still in pain, I sent a message the following morning. I received no response for 3 days. Shortly afterward, I awoke to a massive hemorrhage and was rushed to the ER. A CT scan was performed, and a GI surgeon was placed on standby in case the bleeding continued. Although it eventually slowed, I was left with a dangerously low ferritin level and required numerous doctor visits, lab tests, and infusions over the next several weeks. The resulting fatigue prevented me from maintaining my normal work schedule. I informed Dr. Russell of my ER visit, and he said he may have gone "a layer too deep," which is consistent with the ER physician's opinion. He also stated his staff responded inappropriately to my concerns. I submitted my medical bills and records from this incident to Dr. Russell and Northeast Digestive, but my claim was denied. I then sent Dr. Russell a personal letter with supporting documentation requesting that he do the right thing and take responsibility for his error. He failed to respond. Dr. Russell has left me with substantial medical expenses, physical consequences, and lost income. My experience with Dr. Russell and Northeast Digestive has been expensive and deeply disappointing!

My first one was in 1989 when first moved to Latrobe PA and still employed with PPG. They have changed a bit over the years but I 've continued to have them just for prevention. Live everyone else, not a favorite procedure but never had a real problem till this last one. Had one last July along with an endoscopy. Showed a couple po polyps which were removed and were totally benign. Had the procedure on a Tuesday and started massive internal bleeding the following Sunday. Was taken to Novant North in Huntersville and then transferred to the CCU unit at Novant Presbyterian in Charlotte. Stayed there for two days till I stabilized and while they wanted to keep me longer, I finally talked them into a discharge. Nothing was happening at that point and if it did, I was close enough to get medical assistance quickly. Downside is that due to all of the problems, I'm scheduled for another one in April. Care was very good but let's hope for a better experience.

I was able to cancel out the monotony from the TV with my headphones, spending the time surfing, writing Yelp reviews and checking in on work. My phone rang and the discharge nurse told me that all was done and I could pull the car around front. A few minutes later, Mrs. K. was rolled out, loaded and we were on our way. Jordan was my nurse and she was extremely friendly, accommodating and had a beautiful smile. Steve my anesthesiologist was nice with a warm smile. He explained everything he was going to do before he did it and he was also my DJ. He accommodated my music requests seconds before I drifted off to sleep. Played it right u see my pillow as I drifted away. Michalynn was my other nurse and she was extremely nice and explained everything on my follow up care notes. She even brought me water to drink after wards because I was so thirsty. The ENTIRE team was helpful and made me feel appreciated, comfortable and valued as a patient. Even the young lady at the front desk was polite. I have zero complaints. I'd highly recommend this facility as I had a pleasant experience. Highly recommend them! No more anxiety or nervousness.

I knew after that statement it was the beginning of the end for me and this practice. After that same colonoscopy, I gained 12 lbs in less than a week (which when i reached out was told by a nurse wasn't normal) and began having incontinence. I went in to my appointment today, hopeful that I'd be able to speak to someone about both issues, the PA Cathryn just told me that incontinence was normal after being constipated. I've NEVER had issues with incontinence before even though I've had problems with constipation for YEARS. Cathryn and Dr, Cizner both have TERRIBLE bedside manor and both should be avoided at all costs.
