FNP Dena Patel is a very good and detail-oriented physician. This review is about the low quality of the support staff. Don't try and make an appointment by phone, the staff cannot understand english and will make an appointment when they want and not what you request. Also if you are prescribed a prescription triple check where they are sending your prescription. The staff does not follow your stated choice in your medical record that were confirmed during your visit. They send it to whatever service they choose, and it will take 3-4 call to solve the issue. (not many people answering the phone understand English). What funny is they send you a survey about your visit and there is no questions or areas to comment on the nursing support staff. It shows there are no standards for the nurses there. read more

First, Dr. Schutte is very good. I have enjoyed being her patient for many years. This review is on the office at NE Georgia Medical in Buford. I scheduled my appointment with Dr. Schutte, especially, in July. Yesterday, I discovered that my appointment had been changed to a PA without notifying me. When I contacted the office, they told me I was supposed to have been notified and that Dr. Schutte's next appointment was in January. Had I been notified that her schedule had changed, I would have considered this but to be changed to a PA that I have never heard of without letting me know is something that I cannot tolerate. This is not the first time this has happened to someone I know. Bottom line, Dr. Schutte is good. The clinic she works in is awful. Looking for a new doctor. read more

I called the office at 5:15pm after hours about my leg bothering me and talked to the after hour person that answered the phone. She said she was paging the doctor at 5:15 pm to call and talk to me about what I should do about my leg. I was hopping around and couldn't really walk on it. Ok I waited until 6:20 and no one called. So I called back and they said they would Paige the on call doctor again. Ok that was Wednesday June 21 2023. It's now Thursday morning June 22 and I still haven't heard from anyone. I'm really disappointed in this clinic. I've been going to my doctor for years here. worst experience ever ! This is my first time and absolutely last time! Went to Doctor Arif Patni for anual phisical routine check, everything should be covered by insurance and it always was before. But this time , received a bill from lab because one item of blood work was not covered by insurance . Before test , have told doctor that please only do the items in routine and no extras ,apparently , they didn't verify that and gave me extra test, now I have to pay out of my pocket just because the doctor didn't take responsibility! Called several times to figure out and was told someone will call me back in 5 days but after 10days still never called! Had to call again and again then was transfered from here to there and nobody really helped! Very disappointed and don't recommend! Don't deserve even one star! read more

This primary care office has lost our trust and we will no longer utilize their services. You are only a number; and they want to get you in and out as quick as possible. Collect their $1,000 and not hear from you again. This is not an office that cares for their patients like I believe we should all be treated. If I could give 0 stars I would. The level of patient "care" at the West Jackson location is abjectly horrendous! I have been trying for over a month to get a prescription refill. Sent to them multiple times by the pharmacy. Sent to the wrong pharmacy, said they didn't receive the request, oh it's the holidays so we miss things, just on and on. Go somewhere that will take care of patients. I know I am. I have one more appointment with Dr. Ellis and I'm going to tell him why he is losing a patient. read more

ATTENTION NEW PATIENTS!!! Do not use this doctor if you are a new patient. They charged me a $300 new patient fee to just be processed as a new patient. Was I informed of such a high processing fee? No mention of it at all. I came in requesting a physical and some blood work and neither was completed. They did a quick evaluation of my vitals and some other minor questions. The doctor, Arif Patni, raced through the questions and made me feel like I was bothering him by being in his office. I ended up getting a flu shot as well since my wife was having a baby in a month and apparently that is recommended. They set up a return appointment for my physical and blood work and all was great, until I received the bill. My health insurance (BCBS) covered almost everything except for the new patient fee of $300. I had filled out all the paperwork in advance and brought it in but yet they still charged me $300 to enter this information into a computer and file it. The charge for the flu shot was on there as well. $32 for the shot and $44 to give me the shot. $76 total when the CVS across the street was offering them for $10. When we called, they told me this was standard practice and I would never have to pay the new patient fee again. Great, except for the fact I am never using this scam artist doctor again. It is so difficult to find a doctor you can trust these days and these scam artists are a perfect example. read more

SUMMARY: Dr Schutte is AWESOME but the scheduling practices and front-office support staff need significant improvement. Terrible wait times and rude office manager. DETAILS: Yesterday, I had an appointment for an annual physical scheduled for 3:45PM with Dr. Schutte. I arrived 10 minutes early to allow time for paperwork to be completed. I checked in, completed my paperwork, and then I waited to be called back to see the doctor. And waited. And waited. And waited. Over an hour later, there were still other patients ahead of me, and I still hadn't seen the doctor. At 4:55PM, an hour and 10 minutes past my appointment time, I went to the check in desk and told the woman working the desk that I needed to reschedule my appointment. I explained that I wanted an appointment scheduled for first thing in the morning (any morning, the date didn't matter), because I didn't want to risk being bumped by other patients again. The employee working the desk told me to have a seat (and wait some more!) and she would be with me in a few minutes to reschedule. When she was available to reschedule me, she told me she was not able to give me an 8:30 appointment and that she would have to get her manager to assist her. More waiting. Her manager came out and asked what my problem was. I explained that I was dissatisfied that I'd waited so long, and asked for an 8:30 AM reschedule. I had not even begun to be short with her when she told me I needed to calm down. SERIOUSLY?! I'd waited an hour and 15 minutes for an appointment I'd made weeks in advance, and she was not at all sympathetic to the fact that I'd taken time off of work, only to have it waited sitting in your waiting room. Needless to say, I was not waiting around to be treated poorly any further by the manager, especially after being left waiting for well over an hour for my appointment. My family have been patients of Dr. Schutte's for nearly 15 years. I LOVE having her as my doctor, but I hate the poor scheduling that seems to be a perpetual problem at this practice. I was shocked that the manager was so dismissive and rude about wait time I'd experienced. Needless to say, I left very upset, without a new appointment. As I stated earlier, I've been a patient of this practice for nearly 15 years. That loyalty should count for something. The thing that upsets me the most is how I would be treated if the shoe was on the other foot. If I showed up more than 15 minutes late for an appointment (which I NEVER have), this office would likely cancel my appointment and still charge me the copay. Why is it okay for this office to put those timing demands on me, yet you are perfectly comfortable leaving me sitting for AN HOUR AND 15 MINUTES past my appointment time without so much as an apology for the wasted time? I took time off from work - money out of my pocket - just to have it wasted because this practice overbooks and/or can't manage its own time!! Don't get me wrong, I understand that things happen. I understand there may be times that the doctor has to spend additional, unexpected time with a patient, but this is an ongoing, worsening problem at this office. read more

Dr Shutte is fabulous but as others have stated, the scheduling practices and office staff need major improvements. I had a well visit scheduled more than a month in advance and when I arrived on time for my visit, I was told my appointment was for 30 minutes prior. My appointment card clearly showed the time I believed to be correct so their error. However, I was told that they were behind and also would have to work me in after 6 other patients so at least a two hour wait. I was on my lunch so this was not an option. The staff was not helpful at all. I left without an appointment and without being seen. read more
