I WOULD GIVE 0 STARS IF I COULD. SPECIFICALLY DR. PATEL. They just want your money. They do not care about you as a person and could care less about your feelings. Long story short, I've had 3 pregnancy losses. I started bleeding at 9.5 weeks pregnant. Office wouldn't schedule me to get checked. The bleeding got worse, I made myself an appointment online. Confirmed at that appt there was no heartbeat. Had an emergency D&C at Methodist stone oak due to passing massive clots/ hemorrhaging. I get discharged, and told to call for a follow up. I call, they can't see me until 5-6 weeks post op (November 10th). They call me on Halloween saying the doc wants me to come in today. (Sure let me cancel my plans?!) I go in, they tell me I have to pay out of pocket because my insurance declined the last claim due to coordination of benefits. I'm upset, why do I pay for insurance if I can't use it?! I end up paying out of pocket ($150) JUST FOR THEM TO ONLY DO A PREGNANCY TEST. Dr. Patel comes in and I'm UPSET at this point.l and crying. It's traumatic to go to an office and see pregnant women everywhere after you just lost ANOTHER child. Then to be told I won't be seen if I don't pay private pay. The office has treated me terribly. Don't care about any concerns. Everything is on their time. Dr. Patel comes in. Doesn't introduce herself. Nothing. "Your pregnancy test is negative, I'm not worried about retained products. Are you still bleeding?" I say yes, she says okay could be a period or not. I'm not sure. I asked are we just doing a pregnancy test? No pelvic exam? I just paid $150 for a pregnancy test????????? I verbalize I'm upset at how this office has treated me. She states: "I understand but we don't allow ugly behavior in our office either." WHAT???????? What did I do that was so ugly???? Then. I get this in the mail a week later. This practice SUCKS. I will never return or recommend to anyone. Dr. Womack is clearly uncomfortable with being asked to explain her rationale when making medical decisions different from those of other professionals in the office, becoming patronizingly gentle in tone rather than actually answering questions about past history and how it might interplay with current findings. At one point she made a recommendation to take a new hormone and when asked what the hormone was for refused to answer and then changed her recommendation to no hormones when I requested for her to explain a) what led her to disagree with her colleague's prior finding, b) what the recommended hormone was intended to achieve, and c) what would help address the actual concerns I was there for. When asked about the change in recommendation, she them repeatedly referenced my having complex medical history as a reason to not actually discuss concerns. It is a basic responsibility of medical professionals to be able to have an actual clinical rationale for their decisions about diagnosis and treatment AND to provide risks and benefits of completing any recommended treatments directly to patients. She refused to do either, perhaps because she could not which raises concerns of basic medical competence. I do not recommend this doctor, especially if you have any medical complexity or like to actually discuss your concerns or her clinical decision making. read more

I had a terrible experience with NE OB/GYN and would not recommend them. It is extremely difficult to get an appointment, and if you want to see the same doctor for ongoing issues, be prepared to wait months. I saw multiple different doctors, and none of them seemed to communicate with each other. I scheduled my annual exam two months in advance and even took time off work. After I was already undressed on the exam table, the office manager came in to tell me I was one week early and would have to reschedule. It was clear she had written in her notes that I changed jobs because when I came back she asked me about my new job. I've been with NE OBGYN Asssoc since 1982 or so. I started with Dr. Forks, then Dr. Theis, and then, Dr. Akright. I can not say anything but wonder things about all my doctors here. I had several illnesses and procedures, 2 C-Sections, and always had professional care. Once, Dr. Akright stayed at the lab until 8:30pm to get my lab report, as he knew I was worried. He called me right away that night, instead of waiting until the next day to tell me the information. I think all offices have had issues with employees, especially since CoVid. If I could give 0 stars I would. you wait hours after your scheduled appointment time just to see the doctor for 5 minutes and have your appointments rescheduled due to there lack of scheduling properly. Not proactive at all seems more like a highschool than a professionals office a "just do what I'm told kind of vibe" They don't smile to greet people, they are short with their responses and they seem to just not care. The last year has been turbulent to stay the least with this establishment I have gone through at least three doctors then I finally find one that will do what I ask, and be there... The office staff is awful. You try to cancel on a Sunday... And then they tell you that basically you can't and it's going to be a $75 charge, even though I texted on a Sunday to cancel my appointment, their new portal is not user-friendly and the time response from the office or nurses are as awful. The care quality is basically not there anymore. We're just numbers on an appointment book even though you might've been going there for 20 years. Had my annual exam with Dr. Sadler after a long absence from gyno docs. The staff up from was very nice and efficient, got called back quickly and waited less than 5 minutes in the exam room. Dr. Sadler was very business-like, but not in a negative way. He asked me about my concerns, we talked about various things, he performed the exam and I was out of there. I found him to be very knowledgeable, efficient, gentle, and concerned. We even joked around a bit. Highly recommend!! read more

Dr. Sadler is an outstanding physician. It's unfortunate that his front office staff, which is the first impression a patient gets, treats his patients the polar opposite way he does. They are rude, ill informed and spoke to each other in Spanish when they thought I could not understand them. This practice must overbook appointments. I never got to explanation. I waited an hour and 23 minutes after my scheduled appointment time before I finally walked out. I never saw the OB. You're not allowed to bring kids into their office so I had to find childcare for the time I drove there and back and the time I waited for nothing. Dr. Womack is the worst doctor I have ever been to in my life. Do not let her deliver your baby. It's very apparent that she is a doctor because of the money. She could care less about you, your family or your baby. She is rude and incompetent. I had to be admitted to the hospital right before my c section because she missed a kidney infection. I believe her lack of oversight lead to my baby having to go to the NICU after delivery. She also didn't care that I was in pain after surgery. She only gave me seven days worth of pain meds after. I don't recommend Dr. Vu Truong he was rude to me and treated/talked me like an idiot. My appointment was rushed, I had an ultrasound with him and he didn't care to actually find/look for a good picture of my baby. He said "that's all I can do" he asked if I had questions while walking out the door I told him at the beginning of the appointment I have a very bad back and it's gotten worse since I found out I was pregnant. He did really care that I said that so I brought it up again at the end "there's nothing I can do, Tylenol" I had many questions but he walked off and sent me to check out. Dr. Do has been my regular OB ever since I picked an OB, but I am just not happy with the other staff (nursing, ultrasound). With my OB care, I am not as picky, but ever since being pregnant I expected better. As a first-time expectant mom you would assume staff would be helpful, understanding, and sympathetic to every "freak-out" incident. Instead, the nurses' responses make you feel dumb and insignificant. For my 20-week ultrasound (which was supposed to last about an hour and be very thorough lasted ~10 minutes, if that). The "tech" was snapping away pictures. When I asked her if it was the baby's arm, leg, stomach, etc. she said she needed to get her pictures in first. Then she said I was done. I had no chance to ask anything. She didn't show me anything. I asked for at least pictures and she said because the baby was facing down she couldn't really get anything. I asked to at least print something for me. She printed 2 pictures -- and those were the only things on my USB drive (provided by Northeast OBGYN). I thought it would contain everything she "snapped" during the ultrasound. Nope. My 20-week ultrasound resorted to this disappointing experience? It's bad enough that they do not allow you to capture your scans (no cameras allowed) of your baby, but Northeast OBGYN has old equipment and so your ultrasound isn't too clear to begin with, but geez. Work with me here! This is my first baby! I was so disappointed I had to get a new scan elsewhere. Being a self-pay patient you really get to see how costly healthcare really is---and how poorly your hard-earned money is being wasted. It is extremely disturbing and sad. The front desk staff has been friendly and the billing department has been helpful, but that is just it. I fear for what is yet to come for the rest of my pregnancy and I really do pray it gets better. I dread having to pick another OB in the middle of this pregnancy. 3-stars because I would like to at least keep Dr. Do as my OB, but this clinic needs better nursing/ultrasound staff. read more

Dr.Barbara McLaren would not see me when I arrived and said I had to reschedule because I was late. Mind you, I'm here on an emergency appointment yet still was turned away because I was here at 10:15 on the dot. They failed to give correct address, not answer the phone when I was calling to get help and I was still turned away when I have a medical concern! I also have hypertension and don't have a PCP. The nurse made a really uncomfortable comment about my blood pressure right outside the door. I pray no one else heard. Spent over 36 minutes on the phone to schedule a routine appointment. Tried the patient portal but because my insurance wasn't listed.... it sent me into a circle and I never got the opportunity to schedule online. Had to sit and listen to the same recording over and over again for over 36 minutes. Not to mention- my last 2 appointments.... I waited in the exam room for over 90 minutes each time. My next appt is 11/4..... if I wait more than 30 minutes, I'm done for good. read more

So I'm 4 months pregnant and a single mom. I don't have any family nor friends to help. I go in today for my appointment excited to finally see how my baby is doing, only to be turned away because I have my 14 month old daughter with me. They said I can't go in because of COVID and there are no kids allowed. My daughter had on her mask just like I did. I was once a patient in this office, when I originally got my contraception implanted. Now years later, I regret ever getting the implant, and as I scheduled an appointment to have it removed more issues arise. My appointment was at 7:45 AM and as I walk in being the second person in the door I am told that my insurance is not valid or active. I spend time on the phone verifying myself that my insurance is active. However, the billing department is not open to update that. The lady at the front desk was kind however, she wanted me to sign paperwork agreeing to be financially responsible when my insurance should be covering the entire process. Nobody ever told me that my insurance was not showing eligible and now I drove an hour to this location to be turned down and turned away. read more

After seeing Dr. Harris for months with my first pregnancy, I ended up with a fetal demise after 8 months of pregnancy. All throughout my pregnancy I was concern with the lack of weight gain and the fact that I had last 5 pounds in my 8th month. However, Dr. Harris told me that I should not base my pregnant off others, she dismissed my concern every time I brought it up. The day I learned I was going to delivery my stillborn daughter, I asked that the hospital contact Dr. Harris. That night she did not show up nor did she call. A week after leaving the hospital I still had not heard from Dr. Harris, I had called the office and even emailed. I got a pathetic email two weeks after my fetal demise, it wasn't even a "I'm checking on you" or anything. Dr. Harris has had terrible relationship with me as a patient, I felt like she never cared at all. I was so truly hurt, her reason for the loss of my child at the end was that I started out my pregnancy overweight. Well at the hospital I was told I had love amniotic fluid, which is probably why I lost 5 pounds in my 8th month, but good ol' Dr. Harris didn't think anything of it. I did some research of my own and it was pretty clear that drastic weight loss in the third trimester is a serious sign of many things that could be going wrong and it she had taken the time to check on me, maybe we could have saved my baby girl. I will never go see Dr. Harris again, I do not recommend any black women seeing her just because she is black. I have since switched to seeing Dr. Thompson who I was recommended to the first time around and the man who actually delivered my stillborn daughter. In hindsight, I should have gone with someone with much more experience. I really hate to give the whole practice a single star, would love to give that just to Dr. Harris. The reception area, the nurses, the lab people, and Dr. Thompson have all been wonderful. I truly wish I had my first pregnancy experience starting with Dr. Mark Thompson. I am just very disappointed in my experience with Dr. Ashley Harris. read more

I don't trust Dr Garza. Went in for a procedure and he didn't use enough lidocaine. Was bruised a lot too. He was pushy about sterilization. I mentioned I had 1 child and was done. He continued to push the sterilization and wanted to give me handouts on it. Said my insurance would pay for it. It's like he just wants to get paid. Maybe I'm looking to far into this but it was the feeling of being just another number $. During the procedure i feel like a nurse or assistant should have been assisting so he wouldn't have to leave the room for lidocaine. Also, the wait time. They decided to run my insurance after I'm in the exam room adding 20 minutes to my time. I had called it in the week prior. So, not so good experience with doctor or front end or back end whoever handles insurance checks. read more

Mark Thompson - NE OBGYN Women, please never go with this doctor. I saw him back in 2009/2010 when I was pregnant with my son. I decided part-way through to go with a mid-wife. I let the front office know at my last appointment when they were trying to schedule me for my next appointment. A while later I got a letter from him that I was terminated. I was surprised but didn't think much of it. Now, it is 2019 and I called to schedule an appointment with a different doctor there only to find out that when he terminated me he banned me for life from four practices and twenty doctors. All because I switched to have my baby with a mid-wife. I did nothing wrong for him to do this to me. Completely shocked is an understatement. Management has talked it over and have decided to uphold his decision. I'm very surprised that they run their practice this way. I wonder how many patients he's done this to? There was never any conflict or words said so this was very surprising. I will say he never came off as caring and the mid-wives found a huge issue on my very first visit so I am eternally grateful to them because I would've lost my son if it wasn't found (even they were surprised). This guy is a huge egotistical jerk. I'd avoid him and this practice at all costs. Who bans someone from twenty doctors because I decided to use someone else? Not ethical. read more

so i went to get a basic check up, and i'm a minor so i brought my mom and she brought my younger brother. we couldn't go in bc i need my mom (im a minor) and she couldn't go in bc children can't be in there. then my mom asked if it was in the email ( the remind) stating children can't go, and they said yes. i looked and it wasn't. my mom is my only parent right now and we don't have people to watch him. next time, at least put it in the damn reminder. read more

If Dr. Joy Aden recommends a hysterectomy, please seek a second and third opinion to verify. Dr. Aden informed a very close family member of mine that she needed a hysterectomy, and it was scheduled immediately. A second and third opinion revealed that a hysterectomy was absolutely not medically necessary nor was it warranted. I understand doctors are human just like the rest of us, but please make sure to do your research. If you have attorney friends, ask them to check their databases for lawsuits regarding your ob/gyn. Not all lawsuits are warranted, but often times the insurance companies force a doctor to go to trial to avoid paying a settlement (Yes, in a trial, the doctor doesn't pay out of pocket, the insurance company hires the lawyers to defend the doctor and it is the insurance policy that pays the verdict.)
