Dr. Terry and his staff have been terrific. My wife has a number of issues and Dr. Terry has helped us consolidate what would have been multiple visits to various doctors simply to get the same prescriptions refilled. He, and his PA's and staff, are always polite and professional and very eager to help. It's a relatively young family oriented practice so I get some of the comments about not being able to call and instantly speak to someone sometimes, but they always promptly return my calls if I call when they're busy. We could go to a much bigger practice with a half-dozen receptionists greeting me on the phone and no wait times to speak to someone, but I'd usually end up with a different random doctor scheduling three months out, that I don't know. I'll take a smaller family oriented practice like Dr. Terry's any day, where he gets to know you and his staff treats you like family. read more

They don't answer the phone and when they do they hang up if they don't know how to help you. Don't expect to be able to get them to answer the phone. They will go weeks without answering their phones. The front desk lady in Boerne is not helpful at all and she's WAY too sensitive to be working in healthcare. Their policies change every 2 days and they don't let you know until you're trying to get your medication. Most poorly ran clinic I've ever been to. Do not go here if you can help it. I don't even know what the front desk staff does there because they definitely don't answer the phones. If you leave a voicemail don't expect them to ever get back to you either. They change their policies based on who is asking. The nurse practitioners are fine the front desk staff are rude and don't have a clue so unless you can show up in office every time you have a question or need a refill good luck with this place. read more

I appreciate how kind & compassionate this team is. They treat everyone with care & empathy. They have been medically unsafe and untrustworthy. They do not practice medication management for two diagnoses commonly medicinally managed at family practice IME. They did briefly, but because they sent my meds in INCORRECTLY without communicating nor responding to voicemails & emails about it ~8x, they decided they weren't qualified & referred me to someone who was. The practice they referred me to stated they specialized in weaning patients off daily medications; I was only on "as needed" medications. I let Mercy know, but they stated they were no longer helping with medication management. By the time I connected with a new provider, I was told that due to their medical abandonment, I was high risk for seizures. I also haven't received replies to emails or phone calls regarding referrals, after visit summaries, or medical records requests. They do not offer child vaccinations. They write a prescription so the child can get a vaccination at a pharmacy, however local pharmacies don't administer pediatric vaccinations. The extra appointments every refill or referral for conditions we had been seen for for over a year just feel like a money grab. Overall, I'd look somewhere else to find your family practice home. read more

Probably one of the worst doctors offices ive ever been to. They dont answer their phones. Like AT ALL. I have called and been on hold for 1 min to 30 min trying to just set a basic appointment. Thern when I saw the doctor, and i told him what was going on, he looked at me with a very weird skepticism ive never experienced. They dont communicate. they dont follow up. If you ask for a basic prescription and its not covered by your insurance good luck getting them to follow up or figure out which medication needs to be prescribed. These people have no clue what they are doing, and this entire office feels like a scam. Think im gonna report them for medical malpractice and scamming people. Cause this place just wastes your time. They need a over haul. Or to face some consequence. read more

When I went there I was put in a very small unclean office in the back with no ventilation. for 30 minutes after my appointment. Then Dr comes in gives me 15 minutes max. The whole time I felt talked down to and made to feel stupid. I was upset by the least. I came in to see if I have a health issue. And I have dealt with some crappy drs in my time thru Tri-care prime. Didn't realize civilian world would be the same. Only difference this time is I was bills almost $300 for this terrible experience. I was actually charged for a hour. Guess being in that hot room the time was running. Even though I waited for 30 minutes past my appointment for the Dr. Thank you but no thank you. If I am actually going to pay for a Dr I at least want air conditioner and a Dr that realizes if I knew my issues I wouldn't be paying a Dr to figure it out. Of course I don't have your smarts, that's what your college was for! And why we pay ridiculous money to you. No need to respond to me. I just wanted to warn others of the experience. I canceled my further appointment and will report to my insurance and find other means of care. read more

Is the term "patient mill" a thing? If you've been a patient here, you know what I mean. It's the feeling you get after being placed in a room that clearly never meant to be a medical office or is a half-storage/half-examination room and made to wait for ungodly amounts of time in the world's most uncomfortable chairs as they churn through all the folks in the waiting room. And that's not to say that anyone here is rude or unprofessional, but I've been a patient here for 2+ years with countless sick visits as my carrier monkey preschoolers bring home every ailment known to man and I've never seen a Dr. Terry, my supposed doctor. The endless parade of NPs and PAs makes it tough to connect with any care provider, especially as they have so many other patients waiting behind the myriad of doors that they still have to see. Besides the lengthy wait in a room with decor best described as "the bare minimum," I'd be fine if I felt like I was being listened to and trusted to take part in my own care. But, time and again, my concerns and the fact that my monkeys have positive tests and my symptoms match their diagnosis are dismissed and I'm made to fit another appt in two days after my symptoms have increased considerably (and pay the copay again, of course). Are there better places out there or has everyone just stopped caring? read more

I just recently started going to Mercy wellness clinic in Boerne because my insurance company assigned me to Dr. Aaron Terry for my primary care physician. I've been to Mercy wellness clinic three times. I saw P.A.Hannah Kalantari and she is awesome! I've been going to this clinic for over a year and could not be more satisfied with the standard of care I have received. After the second visit they knew who I was when I came in and addressed me by name. Mr. Daniel is God sent, never feeling rushed he's always thorough, kind & compassionate. I have been seen for a plethora of issues all of which a solution was found including bladder cancer. Unfortunately, I would give zero stars if I could. This place is so disorganized as to be downright dangerous -- calling with the wrong test results, losing test results, forgetting referrals, neglecting to call in prescriptions as promised,, etc. There seems to be a revolving door of nurse practitioner students who see you so there is zero continuity of care. You have to start from scratch every time and re-introduce yourself to somebody who has no clue what they're doing anyway. Good luck actually seeing the doctor, and getting more than 30 seconds with him. I started with the greatest expectations, but this place is absolutely horrible, moving to a real doctor as soon as I can. read more

I have seen Dr Aaron Terry several times this year. I am very happy the quality of care provided by Dr Terry and his staff. He is knowledgeable in his practice, but of course he can't know everything so I appreciate the fact that if he doesn't have an answer he researched one for me and doesn't just say something which I've had done by other drs. I have never felt rushed at anytime and have not had to wait long for my appointments either. His nurse Michelle is wonderful, she is very kind and personable. They make you feel comfortable and valued at Mercy wellness. I highly recommend them. Dr Terry is also an Airforce veteran. They also have an online portal I have not used yet but will be signing up for soon. read more

I went in to see Dr. Terry due to heart palpitations. His staff was very helpful in testing me for many different things, however Dr. Terry was very dismissive of my concerns. He told me they were due to "anxiety" (which I expressed that I knew it wasn't anxiety and he dismissed me), then he said he "didn't feel it was necessary" to see a cardiologist when I asked. I ignored his advice and saw a cardiologist afterwards, and was told I had SVT, in which I needed a cardiac ablasion. I felt very ignored by Dr. Terry due to me being a young female, and as it turned out I had a very serious health issue that he was quick to overlook. This is not the type of care I feel comfortable with, nor would recommend. read more

This place is a joke!!! I have given them multiple chances! They continuously will transfer you to a VM during business hours and NEVER return the call!!! When you try to call back to ask a question they see your caller ID and just route it to VM! This establishment is herding people in and out. There is zero continuity of care. You will NEVER see the actual doctor (Aaron Terry) and will see and DIFFERENT PA every visit. I switched to them because they had great recs from neighbors on ND but for the past 2 years since we've been going here : I'm done! I have been a patient of mercy since they moved into the big building in spring branch. They started out great then very very quickly went downhill. If I wanted to see a new NP every time I went I'd go to a walk in clinic. It's no longer personal it's become so so bad here lately that I have officially left. It's quite disheartening because the way it's gone it seems someone got extremely money hungry. Opening two new offices when your first one can't even get their stuff together nor can keep staff? I absolutely love Dr Terry and his staff. My family is active duty military and we just moved to the area. My daughter suffers from a Autoimmune disorder and him and his staff set aside plenty of time to go over every single question and concern we had. My first visit to the Boerne location was great I was very happy with the nurse practitioner medical assistant the services that my daughter received however I'm not happy about the medication refills. I told him P Hannah that my daughter needed her meds refilled it was never done as I learned when I went to get a refill. I left a detailed message on what medications I was requesting in the portal and also the pharmacy that I instructed them to send to in Leon Springs on July 8, 2022. On July 15 I've had to call the office ' cause the meds were still not filled and left a detailed message prior to noon when the office closes on which medications again needed filled to the Leon Springs Walmart pharmacy. I never get a phone call back and instead I am emailed that a medication that I do not need boo propria on for my daughter was sent to the Spring branch Walmart pharmacy a pharmacy that is over a 45 minute drive. I just don't understand how hard it is to listen and read a message and get it correct for the patient so now my daughter must suffer again for a weekend now without medications. I really consider the whole package when choosing to use a new provider and I feel that I have done my part but I'm not having the receiving the same attention to resolve this matter. read more

That being said, I have recently been disappointed in the dropped communications from the student to the PA to the doctor. I recognize that mistakes can happen and grace is important. For the past 8 years, I have traveled as a transient Heavy Civil Structural Welder constructing Army Corp dams throughout the nation . In my late 20s, I began developing a debilitating joint pain and inflammation throughout my body. My health had always been above average. My diet consisted of only game meat, no dairy, fruits and veggies galore. I lived a very Holistic sustainable lifestyle. My only vice was smoking rolled tobacco and alcohol. Eventually, whatever was going on with me was spreading and deteriorating my mind and my body. So much that I was unable to go to work. I began a proactive approach to find out what was festering internally with me, assuming the Doctors/Specialist would have my best interest in mind. Every time I had to see a new Doctor, I would explain my concerns and as soon as I would say the word "pain" they immediately wanted to prescribe me pain medication. Even after I told them that I am highly allergic to all pain meds. Not one of them ever asked me about my diet and or bad habits or even questions about my job. I had to personally request testing for Lyme, Arthritis, MS, food allergies etc etc. I began Acupuncture and Chiropractor treatments which helped but no one could tell me why I was in so much pain.I tried Reiki and Ayurvedic methods. I tried everything and yes all the natural approaches helped tremendously but I needed a well trained openminded compassionate Doctor to figure out why and or what was causing my ailments. Never in my life, have I met a conventional practicing Doctor who not only respected my preferences but guided me through my journey of trying homeopathic methods first. My new patient visit with Dr. Terry was 2 hours long. He wanted to know everything about my family health history to my personal lifestyle preferences. He genuinely wanted to be the hero who helped me feel alive and healthy again..... and he did! 8 years spent in pain with Doctors from every state and 3 months with Dr.Terry no more pain. I used to tell people all the time that Western Conventional medicine Doctors only want to feed you harmful drugs to cover up and maintain your disease. Now I tell them about Dr. Terry. I owe him everything and I am so lucky to have met such an amazing selfless caring person. He truly is a hero! read more

I have a family of 6 and 4 out of 6 of us have been here. The first few times we had to go, I thought the staff was friendly and Dr. Terry and the nurse practitioners were helpful and listened to us about our needs, concerns and illness symptoms etc. Jamie (NP) is always very good and takes the appropriate time to discuss issues and needs. However, Dr. Terry has been bringing on more NP's and is not hands on now. You only see a doctor at the end of your visit (which is fine for the most part) and the NP's run the office. I had one of the NP's lecture me and treat me like an idiot and then the last time my husband went, he had to wait over an hour in his car to be called in and he had an appointment. He was sick and having aches and chills while waiting for an hour. They aren't thorough with the exams as they use to be and the bed side manner of some of the nurse practitioners is poor. I hear Dr. Terry opened up two more clinics so I can only assume that he is spreading himself way too thin and that is causing this clinic to take a turn for the worse. Anyway, I'll be looking for a new place to go. Between the rude NP (I wish I could remember her name) and the wait time, it's a gamble on whether or not the service is good. read more

Overall, everyone is helpful and has a responsibility. However, the scheduling person was supposed to call me 2 weeks ago to schedule a follow up appt, never happened. Instead, I called her and the recording I received today, at 4:45pm on a Wed, was that it was after office hours, etc. I thought the office was open later than 4:45pm. I'll call again tomorrow and hope that I can get a med check appointment for next week. I do have a problem getting prescriptions refilled. I see NP every 3 months, so it's not like I'm an unknown patient. I contact the Pharmacy to refill a prescription, they contact Doctor's office and I don't get a refill. I allow 5-7 days for refills. Doctor's office says they didn't receive request from Pharmacy and Pharmacy says they didn't receive refill from Doctor or NP. I visited the NP this last time pretty quickly so I could get a refill (I went too long without new thyroid med refill) and she said she called in a 14 day prescription. Pharmacy never received it. This has happened more than once. Tired of everyone's excuses. How come Doctor's office and Pharmacy are not able to communicate? Same as another patient: whoever thought it was a good idea or design to weigh and measure patients in the middle of the main hallway should never be allowed to make another decision again. It further illustrates the lack of consideration for the patient here. I'm hoping for improvement, or I'll search for 4th family physician. I gave 4 stars, because NP is addressing my 3 main medical concerns and I'm satisfied with that. read more
