When I got my vehicle back, two wheel studs were broken and center caps on all four wheels severely scratched. It looked like they have used impact gun without taking caps off during dis/mounting. I spoke with their manager, Jack, and he has blamed Toyota for "defective" studs and swore that their tech has taken caps were off while mounting/dismounting wheels. I have rotated tires prior at least 5 times mostly at Toyta dealerships, and never had a problem with studs or center caps, so, I think, the manager is just blatantly covering for their bad service. I went to Toyota dealership to fix broken studs and examine the rest of them to make sure they were not defective (which they weren't). I also got a quote to replace all center caps. So my total cost was $400. After weeks of going back and forth with Jack, Stratham Tire would not reimburse me any of the money, and, he basically said I would have to sue them to get anything back. Free rotations for life of the tire the set came with is now also useless to me, because I would not let Stratham Tire touch my car ever again. I hope this helps to someone to make better informed decision and avoid falling into the same trap I did.

Selling a car "as is" doesn't negate that one must have LEGALLY placed an inspection sticker on a…read morecar, or otherwise disclosed that a car failed what would've been a legitimate inspection by about 20 distinct points. Selling a car with no brake fluid in the reservoir, with leaking brake lines, barely 1/32nd of an inch on the brake pads, a frozen caliper, etc - never mind that the tire pressure was inflated above 50 psi. Because they put an inspection sticker on the car, with so many things going on, including the brakes, brake lines, calipers, with multiple engine light codes, I could only suppose that they intended to pass the car inspection with anything other than the purist of intent. If it were 2-3 things, I might have thought that it was just an oversight. To have about 20 different items, shouts of SCIENTOR to me. "As Is" doesn't excuse what appears to have been multiple instances of violations of the Statute of Frauds, along with seemingly violating NH statutes regarding applying a state inspection sticker under what seems to have clearly been false pretenses. Items suspected include: New Hampshire RSA262:16 regarding placing the inspection sticker upon the car whenever it shouldn't have passed a legitimate inspection. Then, there was the placing of 20-day plates on the car, subsequent to what shouldn't have been a passed inspection, which seemingly might also violate New Hampshire RSA 261:56. On top of all of this, is the anxiety from finding out that all four (4) tires were overinflated to 53 psi each. Plus, having discovered that with tires that could've easily had a blowout, that both the front and rear brake pads had BARELY 1/32nd of an inch left, for all four (4) brakes. I offered them a chance to pay me back for all of my out-of-pocket costs, along with a modest amount of money for the anxiety created, due to the blatantly hazardous true condition of the vehicle. In case that would be too much money for them to pay out on such short notice, I offered them the chance to replace the car that I had purchased, with a car that costs about $500 less than what I was requesting/demanding them to pay me for what had transpired. They ignored that as well as the original request/demand for payment. Normally, problems with passing an inspection, one should reasonably go back to the seller of the vehicle. Problem is, they seemingly abused the fact that they were able to apply an inspection sticker to a vehicle that they sold, which later had 3 independent entities verify shouldn't have passed inspection. Whenever I discovered not just a more reasonable number of 2-3, but rather about 20 distinct points that should have caused the car to not have had an inspection sticker applied, I could only assume the following: (1) That the passing inspection was more than just a minor oversight; (2) That the "as is" in conjunction with being a state inspection facility, was seemingly abused in a rather egregious fashion; (3) That with such an egregious example of apparent SCIENTOR, I saw ZERO reason to trust Greenwood Auto to actually do anything towards making repairs on the vehicle that they sold to me. I personally believe that around five (5) items, one can only make the assumption that such behavior was intentional. The vehicle inspection certificate clearly states that the inspection was done with the mechanic ID of: "06GDD" The sticker number is: A-18-0000873490. The inspection type was noted as: "SAFETY & OBD". The station ID was noted as: "00004443". The NH Host Unit was noted as: "NH003771", After my experience with them, I would only desire to purchase or accept as a replacement, a vehicle that had passed a legitimate inspection not on their premises. I sincerely hope to be able to come back on here, noting that they have made good with me, regarding this situation.

He agreed with all my points and said he's not doing it. It was actually a bizarre experience because he wouldn't really say why other than "legal reasons." Except that he thought it was perfectly acceptable to send us out with bald tires in the upcoming snowstorm, with brand new tires in the bed, knowing full well I will never be able to find anyone to swap them before the snow gets here. So take your chances going here and being told to "pound sand," if you have a normal set of mud tires for your truck.

Really disappointed…read more To preface, John Bird of Latchkey had done some awesome work on a previous Audi and VW Passat and Corrado that I owned, about 12 years ago. I Moved out of the area about a decade ago, but my family still resides in the Lakes Region area. During a recent trip to NH to see family, my car had it's catalytic converter plug up. I initially purchased the parts to do an exhaust job (complete... headers to tailpipe, on a 1988 Crown Victoria), but decided the work was more than I could do without a welder and mandrel bender at my family's home. I contacted Mr. Bird, and he agreed to do the work. Work proposed was to bolt on a set of headers, an "H pipe", and weld mufflers on, and custom bend tailpipes to go over the rear axle and out the sides. I unfortunately did not ask for an estimate or timeframe for such a job, as Crown Victorias are easy to work on, and research showed this was a 4-6 hour job, and if parts were brought to the mechanic, $400-600 in labor. The job actually took 3 days. I was also charged over $880 to install an exhaust on a Ford. As an example, over $100 of the job was to install a foot of heater hose from an air tube to the engine, and tighten two hose clamps. The bad part is... This is a car that uses the old R12 refrigerant for air conditioning. I had, one month prior, spent many hundreds of dollars getting the system leak tested and recharged with the proper, and very expensive R12... As opposed to converting to R134a which is less efficient. The car had a recently inspected and perfectly working A/C system the day I brought it to him (it was used to defog the windshield en route for delivery). When I received the car back, the A/C did not work at all. Due to the design of the engine, it is impossible to install the headers without discharging (and reclaiming the very expensive refrigerant). Either Mr. Bird stole the R12 via reclamation, or just vented it to atmosphere (which is a HUGE EPA violation, as it's a CFC refrigerant). I now have a car that I'll have to spend upwards of $800 to retrofit to CFC-free refrigerant, when it was working flawlessly when the car was delivered to him. There is a large chip in the paint in the leading edge of the hood. The chip extends down the vertical lip on the passenger side, so it would be impossible that it'd be from debris, as it is obscured from view when the hood is closed. This car received a complete paint job in October 2012, and this is now the only blemish. A hard line (similar to a brake line) was snapped off the driver's side frame rail, just behind the header. It is an older car, and I understand things break, but he snapped it off and just left it without telling me. And to top everything else off... The exhaust installed is now rattling against the underside of the car. I contacted Mr. Bird, the shop owner, for an amicable resolution, and was immediately countered with "you ***holes and your older cars are always trying to get something out of me", as well as numerous other expletives and no chance of any type of help. I'm no idiot to cars work, and cost of repair. In this case an afternoon, $4-600 job turned into a 3 day $900 job, and he broke over $1000 worth of stuff in the process. Don't walk...
