Yes, this place has pricey coffee, but it is SO worth it. My latte was phenomenal and made with care. The biscuit sandwiches are delicious - fresh ingredients, unique combos (spicy sausage and sweet jam) not-greasy. And, the environment is really comfortable. Unlike many coffee shops, they don't try to push you through. Plenty of plugs for people who want to do work. If I lived in Minneapolis, this would be my new regular "get work done" coffee shop go to. read more

I think this is my favorite place for coffee. The service was friendly and quick. I loved the options for both local beer and coffee. I did not like trying to drive here in the Minneapolis afternoon traffic, but it was worth the trouble. Also, there are power outlets as far as the eye can see. This might be the worst place I have eaten. Ridiculously overpriced for the portions ($1 to add jam for my toast... that was literally fill a thimble). Can you screw up scrambled eggs? You sure can! Flat, colorless... gross. It was offset by my two super thin pieces of bacon that came with it. They fancy themselves a coffee company, but I suspect they use diluted Folgers. This seems like a place where a couple people with zero experience (cooking or putting together a menu) decided to open a restaurant. I was surprised to pay 10 dollars for what turned out to be some mixed vegetables and an egg. Small portions that actually tasted decent but I wouldn't do it again for something that probably cost 75 cents in ingredients. I have been meaning to visit this place which is literally 5 minutes from where I live, and finally got around to visiting on a particularly sweltering Sunday morning. I have to say, this place went above and beyond what I expected. I ordered the Avocado Tartine and the cold brew at first, and both of them were top notch. However, I will say the portion size of the tartine was smaller than I'd like for brunch. That said, it tasted phenomenal, and the eggs were done just the way I'd asked for (well done). It was seasoned nicely and overall the presentation and the taste were pretty great. Finally, I got an orange lavender latte and a banana chocolate chip muffin to go. The muffin was delicious but slightly on the drier side (could be just a personal preference). I haven't had the best experience with orange flavored lattes before, but this one was a pleasant surprise - kudos to the barista for that. The ambience was quite homey, with soft lighting that makes you want to hang out here all day. Of course, the Center for Book Arts being just next door is a huge plus for this place. I'm vegan and when they first opened there weren't any options available but now there are a few. I went here for the first time. I ordered the granola with berries. It was $8 and I got 1/4 cup of granola in a huge bowl with about 4 berries and a tiny cup of cold almond milk. The biggest scam. We heard there was good breakfast foods here. Not sure who wrote those reviews but really? Four of us went yesterday and had 1) roasted vegetable hash with an egg. Hash was cold and half the veggies weren't cooked. On top of that a weird teriyaki flavored sauce was added. Yuck. Egg was ok (but how do you screw up an egg?). 2) egg biscuit with bacon. Biscuit was fully whole wheat so hard and dry. Half of it was warm and the other half cold. How the heck do you even do that? Bacon was fine. 3) biscuits and gravy. See comment about inedible biscuit. The gravy was like soup. Also cold. Gross. 4) scrambled eggs and bacon was fine but served with a side of a whole green apple. What are we, in kindergarten? All in all, a bad breakfast experience barely made tolerable by good coffee drinks. Stick to the coffee. Will say the service was good. read more

The previous reviews were right on! My latte was perfect and the sausage biscuit was to die for. The delicious patty was topped with a fried egg and habanero jam, all on a flaky biscuit.
