I jog here daily, but never intended on reviewing a park until I found out there were no reviews on…read moreit. So to give some perspective to this location, it is in the arrowhead lakes community, so there's a lake near-by you can jog along. I've jogged here literally at every hour of the day and felt completely safe here. It's always clean too. Particularly for the park, there is a huge grassy area for soccer, football, frisbee, etc. To potentially describe the size, 4-5 soccer games could be going on at any one time. At the front near the parking lot is a large playground, bbq and seating areas for birthdays or get togethers, a volley ball court, a basket ball court, and a private lot for parking. All done. Now on to my daily jog!

I like the fact that there is playground equipment that's age appropriate. Nice place to come to see geese, ducks and other birds all around. My friend went here and saw the "Burrowing owls". They named two of them:) There were about 5 of them all together. Just wish there was more shade near the water area, it's hot out there in the sun! Will definitely visit again. There is a group workout of Saturday mornings at 7 am that is great too.

I offered them our peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and got them water went to the store and got them some more food and snacks but I just highly recommend you don't let your kids play here or bring them here. It is overpopulated with homeless people and it's just a little bit nerve-racking because they aren't Going to move or get up for you if you ask them to or if they see you they just stay there laying on the benches and the splash pad is covered in dirty muck water!! :(

What I don't like about this park is the noise of traffic from cactus and also the amount of mosquitoes. The noise is easily overcome with headphones, but the bugs ate me alive! I even tried using big spray before walking there and even though that helped it wasn't perfect. And I don't like using big spray a ton either. I went there one morning and they were flooding the park with water it so maybe that is why there are so many bugs? Anyway a good place to walk if you wear headphones and bug spray.

The park is across the street from the Phoenix police dispatch center so there's always police cars arriving or taking off around the area. It is also across the street from an elementary school and right next door to Moon Valley High School. I'm sure the park is quite busy when schools let out at the end of the day. Lots of grassy areas for playing games or having parties. Have seen lots of times parties with jumping houses there. Lots of trees providing great shade. A family favorite!

Lots of colorful characters for sure so I tend to avoid it. But... my kid enjoys coming here and I don't always feel like driving all the way to friendship park. Do keep an eye on people that are parked. I have noticed lots of suspicious older men who just sit in their car for hours and watch as the children play. If you are lucky, you may even get a chance to see popping and locking dad. He dances in the middle of the playground while the kids (including his own) watch in amazement.

And when he was ready to take a break, there are tons and tons of large shady trees to rest under. Since this is during the pandemic, we didn't get to make use of the playground, although it looks wonderful and like it has a lot of fun things to play on. But even without the use of the playground, all the big empty space is perfect for soccer, a shady picnic, or tai chi (which we've been lucky enough to observe several people practicing here). The biggest negative? No restrooms. Otherwise, wonderful safe park to enjoy.

(Totally understandable) the park is huge and surrounding they have little workouts you can do on uneven bars and random little workout areas. The playground was just recently redone about 4 years ago and is still looking pretty good! This is a great location to have sports teams come practice (field sports) although I am bummed they took the volleyball courts out. They defiantly need some sand courts ASAP. I agree with a pervious yelper that its kinda crazy they don't have a restroom... Honestly I didn't really notice until I read that review because I live pretty close so it's never been a problem but i can totally see her point if you have young children. A few years ago this park was a little sketchy when it came to homeless hanging out, but now they have police that come by pretty often to make sure there's noting fishy going on. Now I feel much more comfortable going for a run alone. This park is perfect to play frisbee golf ("frolf") or have an outrageous water balloon fight! It's also a great place to take your well-trained dog to play some catch... And don't worry if they make a doodie the park as a poop-bag dispenser. Oh writing this review makes me have flashbacks of the grapefruit wars Sunnyslope would have vs Washington years ago....

Picnic structures each have 2 tables and a bbq. Structures are spread out. This is great for parties. Several parties may be going on at once, and they won't interfere with eachother. Volleyball court is on grass. Several basketball hoops. There is a handicap accessible ramp down to the basketball courts. Tennis courts are towards the back of the park. There are quite a few courts. Playground is newer. There are lots of places to climb, spin around, and even a percussion play area. Parts of the playground are shaded. Playground has many accessible areas. On top of all that, there is also a field. Field is large enough for a game of soccer. Parking is located in a lot or along the street on W. Sweetwater.
