Summer time they close at 5 pm.... Sun is out for at least another 2 hours. It'd be wise to be open at night when it is most safe in the summer to bring a dog out so they are not to get heat stroke.... Whoever decided the hours of this park is missing a few cells. read more

Yay Yay and Yay! Yay for the plastic grocery bag recycling program. No need to spend on money on doo-doo bags or add to landfills! Yay for the huge big dog area. There is tons of room for them to run and play! Yay for responsible and knowledgeable dog owners! Trying to avoid negativity I will just say that if you plan on bringing your dog oto any off-leash dog park, please educate yourself about dog behavior and the signs of aggressive behavior. If participants at the park state that your dog is being aggressive and needs to go, then it is time to remove yourselves from the park. read more

I know we don't have a lot of choices in Surprise, and this can be a decent park to visit. However, your typical dog owner who refuses to clean up after their dog, lets them run amuck, thinking they run the place! We have a very small dog that only weighs 4lbs, so we have to becareful where she runs and plays at. Most dogs are good to her, but there are those few that wants to ruin the day. So I have to be her protector and stand her ground for her! Owners! I have no problem, telling you where to go! Over all this park is nice, can be better! They have two serperate yards. One- for dogs under 20lbs, and Two- for dogs over 20lbs. Just if more dog owners can clean up after their dogs, how much better this park would be? read more

This dog park is great! Lots of dogs are always here and they all get along for the most part. Of course there will be the occasional altercation or poop, but that's a given with any dog park. There are a few picnic tables with shade and water fountains for humans and dogs. There are two sides, one for big dogs (over 20lbs) and a side for the small pups. It's nice because there is a pond too. If the puppies don't like the dog park you could always walk them around the pond! read more

Do dogs belong on the tables? Some people say it's a dog park. Does that mean dogs can do anything. It's the owner's responsibility to have their dog behave. This AM there was an incident where 2 large dogs ( size that should be in the larger dog park weight and size) We asked them to get the dogs off - their response was it's a DOG PARK. They are picnic tables not dog tables. I feel that people that do not respect others' do not belong in public places. These dogs are very annoying and owners don't care. Do I really want a dog's behind in my face. My suggestion would be get rid of the tables. That way people would be able to watch their dogs closer and pickup poop. Very disappointed in people that don't take in the consideration of others. I love my dog and love children. We wouldn't want children all over the tables in the children's park. It would be the parents' to control and teach them the right behavior. read more

Being a resident of Surprise for only a couple of months, it's so great to be able to mingle with neighbors and dogs from all over. I bring my furry monster, AJ here every weekend so he can let off some steam and play with some of his friends. Everyone here is pretty nice and well aware of their dogs. They'll clean up after their dogs and make sure they're not doing anything inappropriate. However, there are the select few people who don't and that causes an issue or two. They recently opened the park back up after a couple of weeks of renovating. It still looks the same but I'm not sure if there's something wrong with the sprinkler system because there have been really bad mud puddles these past two weekends. So bring your furry monster! and some extra towels too. read more

My dog seems to like it. Since he doesn't understand English ("Stay off the couch when I'm gone" / "Don't eat that!" / "Quit digging up the yard"), it's hard to convey that we're going to the dog park. Regardless, he gets really excited whenever I open the door to the truck, and jumps right in. After years of trying to decipher goofy dog expressions, I have collected enough data points to deduce that he's happier to end up at the dog park than the vet's office. That's got to count for something. He's not on yelp, so this review is written more for him than for me. read more

If you love mud and dog poop all over the place, then this is the dog park for you. The last few times we've gone, that's exactly what this park has been. Today there was fencing up around muddy areas, except they were either only half put up or half fallen down. I sidestepped so much dog poop, probably because instead of watching and cleaning up after their dogs, people are sitting around talking to each other. We left after only a few minutes there and will not be returning back. read more

If people take care of their dog's poop, that would make this park good. I ALWAYS see people leave their dog's poop. It's disgusting.

We followed the signs on our first visit today. But it was too far to walk from the paved parking lot, so we decided to drive around and see if there was a closer parking spot. Well, we finally found the dirt/rock parking area right next to the park. Unfortunately we came on a Wednesday & it was closed. We had decided to go home anyways, because we forgot to bring water for our pup. I see from the pictures that there is a fountain, but I'm not about to let my pup drink water that's allowed to fall on the pavement. I'll bring a paper bowl next time we visit. And it'll be early in the day. It looks like a great area for our small dog, lots of room to explore. Prancer's going to have a new place to visit now! read more

This dog park is great. Its close to our house and everyone who goes there are so friendly. So far every dog we've met and gotten to know are very well behaved and have responsible and attentive owners. Good dogs. Good people. Plenty of shade. I only wish it had a pond or some sort of water fixture for the dogs to play in during these nasty Arizona summers. read more

It's a good dog park. Fairly clean but if it rains it turns into a mud pit. It's in a good location being near the park, pond and a great play area. read more

It's often muddy becuase one side gets over watered and its not as well kept as it should be for being in such a beautiful park. It's often busy though so it's nice socialization for the dogs. read more

This is a nice, large area for a dogpark however, on one of my first days there it was CLOSED. Turbo and I were like "WTF?" Gates were locked and fence was too tall for me to jump. I was pissed. Later that week I read a sign that stated they have "cleaning" on Wednesdays or some sh*t like that. ALL DAY? Really? Ok, fine, they could alternate the park cleaning as to leave the small dog or large dog area open while they clean the other area...but that's none of my business. Next, the few times we were here, people seemed bent on following rules, no not following... Police-ing the rules. Geez lighten up, tough crowd here. One lady was running around showing everyone where their dog took a dump. Ok, I get it we all need to clean up after our dogs but calm it down....Also, the geese surrounding the pretty pond in the area just made my dog stand by the fence and ignore all the other dogs. Great. Like always, glad this place exists but glad this one is not in my neighborhood and we were just visitors passing by. read more
