We've been to this park a couple of times now! My toddler absolutely loves it. She'll go back and forth from the splash pad, over to the swings, over to the playground on the slides, and over over to her dad to get a look at the ducks while he's fishing. Lack of shade for fisherman. Groundsnkelt up great but ambiance on the weekends is loud and overcrowded. Lots of parking but I'll never return on a weekend or middle of day. Also suggest even if they say just stocked it we say tons of little bass. But 3 hours and all 12 of us caught nothing. Even distributed all around lake. Only 1 stranger caught a good cat fish. But also be aware parents are watching kids on busy days they are loud and come being a nuisance throwing rocks into the lake near fisherman wasn't impressed read more

Great park! Everything is well kept and clean. Tons of kids in the play area, nice pond for fishing, several cabanas for rent.

Big park with lots to offer. On a Saturday afternoon, there were games going on on one of the baseball fields, and on the soccer fields. There are also ample green spaces that are not attached to sport fields. Playground, dog park and lake round out the park. Ramadas (covered picnic shelters) are set up in groups around the park. Each is clearly numbered. Ramadas may be rented for parties. Some have sinks. Where we were, each slot had a bbq. Play structures are towards the center of the park. Shade sails cove the structure nicely. Bathroom buildings and area ranadas help block sun as well. Splash pad was turned off during our visit. Fishing around the lake was a popular activity, the morning of our visit. Those fishing seemed to spread themselves out. We didn't see anyone catching anything. We came here as part of a park clean-up project. Park itself was mostly clean. The majority of trash our group found was cigarette butts, fishing line, and confetti. So much confetti. Parking is a located around much of the park. Even with all the activities happening, we were able to find parking easily. read more

This is one of nicest softball parks in the region. 6 beautifully graded and maintained fields, shade structures on all fields, clean bathroom facilities, concession stands and a place for siblings joining their families to play make for a top notch recreational park. Parking Lot- 5/5. Great parking lot and stalls for RV's. Spectator Stands. 5/5. Bleachers under canopied shade structures that wrap the backstop from dugout to dugout. For Arizona this should be a requirement for every sports venue. Fields. 5/5. The groundskeepers keep the fields immaculate like a MLB park. Beautiful grass, precision graded fields and nice dugouts for the teams. Bathrooms. 5/5. Urinals and stalls kept cleaned and stocked. I can't speak for the women's bathrooms but I'm assuming if the men's are nice, the women's must be as well. Additional perks: Dog Park Playground Green Area Concession Stands Large concrete walkways I love when my daughter plays tournaments at this park simply because in the summer you aren't baking or having struggles watching the game from the sea of shade tents people have to bring to stay directly out of the menacing sun. read more

The kids and I love this park. We like to take walks to it when it's cooler outside. Theres the big pond and we enjoying watching people fish and all the wildlife around the water. There is a big playground and swings that are in pretty good condition. The floor could use some work as the spongy part of it is wearing down and getting holes in it. Kids love coming here. Splash pad for them to cool off in and a nice size playground that is covered. Big lake for fishing or taking a walk. Plenty of parking. They have gazebos you can reserve. The times I went the bathrooms were clean. The only thing I wish they had more of was searing in the playground area for adults. read more

Why do the city's of Az sell fishing licenses if they will harass and lock the gate 3 minutes before closing then refuse to give their name or who is in charge of them?? This same worker has locked the gate on my son and I twice and other fishermen as well. I don't understand why he doesn't have a name badge or park employee clothes but this man doesn't deserve a job at a park where people bring their families to play, fish or play at the park without this man wanting you not to come back if he's working. The other lady is a very respectful person and definitely needs to be recognized for it. If this man is here just leave it's better that way he will lock you in the park before it closes read more

I used to really enjoy this park. It's pretty big, lots of fun for the kids. The play area is pretty big with 2 large jungle gyms and sets of swings. It has a large splash pad in the summers. They have food truck Friday's there sometimes. There's a lake and people were fishing there. However, when I went there the day after Christmas, there was just so much trash. It's a shame no one cares enough to clean up after themselves. Also, some girl was smoking right next to the playground and all the smoke was blowing downwind on the kids playing. Thanks lady. Another kid was throwing her shoes from the top of the slide around whoever was near. I don't know if she was trying to hit them or just to do it so her mom would pay attention to her. In summation, the park itself is nice. Other factors may change your personal level of enjoyment. read more

GREAT park with plenty for the kids to do. Love the splash pad even though it is showing it's age a bit. The playground has plenty of fun equipment and a separate area for small children. The bathrooms are reasonably clean, wish there were showers to rinse off. Lots of benches for parents to sit and tables for eating. The night we went, there were at least 10 assorted food trucks, music, a little train for the kids to ride on and other activities for all ages. My sons have played in baseball and soccer tournaments for years. They are no stranger to this beautiful facility in Peoria. And for the record, this is NOT a review about a dog park. Pioneer Community Park is a nice, new, multi-purpose park with a little something for everyone. I referenced this park in a recent review of a nearby private baseball facility. Peoria manages some nice, modern little league-sized ball fields and maintains them well! The layout is open, the concession stand offers great burgers and dogs and there are lots of other amenities nearby. Plus the architecture is unique and attractive. And I almost forgot, the covered seating is much appreciated under the Arizona sun! Unlike some reviews here which complain about the leagues that "rent" this park for their respective sports, this review is for the actual facilities. If you wanna bitch and moan about how poorly your team played or how you disagreed with the sanctioning organization, this is NOT the forum for that. Well done Peoria! read more

Beautiful park. Great soccer & softball fields. Splash pad and play area are nice. The problem is, people who leave their trash. Dirty diapers laying all over, including the parking lot. Water bottles, cans, plates. All of the garbage cans were filled to capacity and overflowing. Our party rented a Ramada and it was full of spilled soda, diapers and tons of food. We asked city workers to spray it down and they did do that right away. There should be more employees on hand (unfortunately) to keep the area clean. There were some homeless women walking around asking for food at parties. Yes, we did kindly give them a lot of food and water. However it was a kids party. People need to be responsible. read more

This park is awesome! I live about 5mins away and come here quite often. The park has a little something special for everyone. There is a playground, splash pad, lake for fishing, dog park, tons of fields to host games for soccer, baseball, softball, etc. In the past on Friday's they had food trucks come in the evening to bring the community together- as well as movie in the park on a big blow up screen. The park is clean and anyone I come across there has been friendly! I personally go to the dog park with my fur baby Captain so he can play with other dogs in the area- it is a favorite past time! read more

One of my favorite parks here in Arizona. The park is pretty clean. I've come here a few times already to fish. Haven't had much luck catching any fishes but I've seen a few people with a decent catch or two. There are catfishes, trout, and bass to name a few. The pond is nice in size and wraps around with good options for steaking out your fishing spot. For kids, there is a big playground and a splash pad also- good for hot days. For review #700 it goes to Pioneer Community Park! This place is fantastic! My daughter had a softball game in the complex and within walking distance is an amazing fun playground and water park. My youngest daughter was pretty bored watching the games so we walked over here several times. She LOVED the playground and I did too! -There are tons of twirly things to play on! My daughter was spinning on everything. -The floors are cushiony. Sand and wood chips suck and are messy. There are lots of kid collisions that occur at playgrounds and this makes the fall a little less intense. -Its shaded!!! AHHHHH!!! The majority of the playground (and sitting area) is shaded. -There are cute shaded areas for tables that you can reserve for birthday parties. -Massive pond/water area people fish at. -HUGE grass area for throwing the ball or Frisbee. (Keep in mind you cannot put up a tent/canopy) -They had three vendors there on Sunday! An ice cream truck, an Italian ice cart and a elote/chip vendor! -The water play area is so much fun! I appreciated the fact that they didn't keep the water structures going the entire time (I'm assuming to conserve water). It also built excitement and patience with the children when the water would come back on! -Clean! Everything looked clean and the slides and play structure didn't looked abused or thrashed. At the end of the day, my daughter asked if she could have her birthday here....in Arizona...9 hours away from where we live!!! :) read more

I brought my furbabies to this park. It was great I have an American Staffordshire Terrier and a Lab mix. Topically when I bring our Amstaff people leave because they think he is vicious. Everyone stayed and played with him. They loved both of them. I brought my son here also and he road his scooter around the fishing pond. Very safe and the jungle gyms appeared very clean. read more

Awesome dog park! Spacious! It's great to see the separated areas for different dog sizes, so when you have a puppy you can go to one area then when the puppy gets bigger you can go to the next one up. The benches are shaded which is great here in the valley because even in the spring time you still need shade. Parking lot is big and spaces are spread apart enough you don't really have to worry about a door ding. Lots of area for dogs to play individually or with a group, The water fountains have easy access for all dogs to stop and get a drink. I didn't really see any poop land mines so that tells me that all the owners take care of their dogs business. Best part was most the dog owners frequent the dog park a lot so you'll see a lot of familiar faces which is a plus considering you're bringing your dog there. read more

Searching for a dog park to take our pups to we found this one. We got there and immediately commented on how nice and big the park was. There was quite a few people there with their dogs so ours had a lot of play time. I like how nice the park was kept but I do feel like there could be more seating areas. The dogs all ended up with yellow paws after running in the grass so I'm not sure what that was all about but I'm hoping it's not something that will either be harmful or stain my dogs feet read more

Always bringing my two pups here, and they love it. You'll occasionally get some people who bring their little dogs to the big dog side, & ask you to chain up your dog.. but on the other note. My dogs know when we're pulling up to the parking lot & get so excited. Great place to meet new faces & have their dogs interact with eachother in a safe place. As for the park itself, such as the playground, it's filthy, trashed. I wouldn't let my children play on that play ground for the life of me. Looks like germs everywhere. The little lake where people fish in, is disgusting too, it's completely dirty. We see trash lined up every inch of the park... it's sad because it was once a beautiful and peaceful park. Now We only come for the dog park, which is located in the back of the park. read more

Out of the majority of parks in Phoenix metro and surrounding areas this is one of my favorite parks. The park is normally clean by the play ground area. This is the only public park that I know of that has the splash pad open till the first week of October. Which is great because we all know Arizona doesn't cool down till November. The man made pond/lake is a few hundred feet away from the playground which I never seen a problem with any kid of your paying attention to them. The water gets pretty dirty at times from people not throwing the trash in the trash cans. However the fishing scene is great because everyone pretty much gives you your space. Make sure you bring a chair not a blanket because there are always ants and any holes so watch the little ones. read more

Great park! There is a lot to do and the splash pad is fun when it's not super busy! There is plenty of parking and places to sit. I like that they have the toddler section away from the bigger kid section. The bathrooms are disgusting and you know it's bad when an 8 year old says she'll hold it instead of actually going. This is my favorite dog park here around me. It's probably the best one I've been to so far and my dog agrees. It doesn't have that much shade or trees, well Arizona, in general, doesn't have much at all. They do have some benches with shade, but only a couple. You can bring your own chairs if you like or just walk around like I do with my dog. The dog park is separated into two areas, one for larger dogs and one for smaller dogs. I've never seen an issue on either side with violence or anything of that matter. This dog park is clean, well lit, and quite large. There are no little structures for dogs to go through, basically it's just a plot of grassy land for the dogs to run around in. Plenty of trashcans with free poopie bags to pick up after your dog. Overall, this dog park is great and I would totally recommend it. Besides the dog park, the park itself is quite large. It has a playground with splashpad, a large pond with fishes, and plenty of space to walk around in. Parking is plentiful, especially where the dog park is located. It gets quite busy with patrons during the weekend. And if you'd like to rent out a space, you need to do that in advance as it does get filled up. Great park! read more

At first I thought how nice the pond was...but there were cigarettes buds in the grass and the play ground needs to be cleaned and the tables. In don't expect it to be super nice but definitely feel like It needs some upkeep. I had my sons birthday party here. Just call and reserve it, you do have to pay a fee but it's cheaper if you are a Peoria resident. My sons birthday is April 28 and the splash pad was open already. It does get super crowded on the weekend, and hard to find parking nearby. read more

Great park!! Immediately as I got there I saw people cleaning the grounds, and everyone was using every amenity that this place has to offer. (Playground, Ramadas, pet park, and people were fishing!!) just by the look of this park, it is very clean. I took my dog to play at the pet park and I saw no stranded dog poop, it was glorious. I feel like this would be a great community park to host a get together at, and it will definitely be a park that I go to more often. read more

I do not like this park because some of the people who go there are rude. A man once yelled at me because I didn't SEE my dog poop and then continued insulting me after instead of just coming over to let me know I missed it. (Which.... BTW was his 2nd time pooping so I already picked up his first one and just wasn't expecting another one but I would be more than happy to pick it up.) He was such a jerk about it and said other extremely rude things to me after for no reason. It was pitiful and not how I would expect a man to talk to a woman. I haven't been back since. But besides that, there is hardly anywhere to sit and no trees for shade. I drive an extra 10 minutes to Sahuaro Ranch Park or my favorite park when I have time - Rose Moffard.
